I am getting back in the grove this pretty Sunday morning. I can't wait to walk!!
Jackie, Awesome job on the 7 mile run. Without stopping!!! WOW. I just can't imagine me ever being able to run to begin with. Then to run 7 miles I would die.. Anyway, great job!!
Ann, isn't those walking video's great! My kids even do most of it with me. They usually poop out at 1 1/2 miles. I have her 3 mile advance walk. It is 3 miles in about 45 min. Great workout. All my muscles can feel it. And I don't even have to go out in the hot sun I can do it inside with my a/c and fans on!! Keep up the great work, I know we can do it!!
I'll keep you all in my prayers and talk to you tomorrow!

Good Morning Ladies!!!
Tammy you need to take a day off every week...it keeps things in balance and also keeps your body working better!!! Glad you were able to spend some quality time with your hubby!!!
Got in my longest run to date yesterday!!! 7.09 miles in just over 1 HOUR....Can you believe I ran for over an hour without stopping one time!!! I am still shocked!!! I'm a little sun brunt but not at all sore or tired!!!
I haven't been on a bike since I was a teen and got too cool to ride a bike!!! LOL!! But coincidently, we are supposed to go bike riding on the beach with my brother and niece this morning!!! Kenny and I are going to get a tandem bike!!! LOL!!! I'll let you know how that goes!!!

Tammy---I have Leslie's Walk Away the Pounds Video and I usually do the 2 mile/30 minute six times a week. I do enjoy using that video! Today, at the store alone I walked more than 11,000 steps! Add the 2 miles done with Leslie and that works out to about 7 miles today! Whew!
Exercising does help with the sleep and energy, not to mention the added benefit of dropping the weight. I have never been thrilled about doing exercises but I do see how it benefits me. I used to ride a bike all over town...sold Avon that way for 5 years. Maybe I should get a bike again.

Well with all those miles walked the last few days my muscles were a little sore and tired so I took a day off to relax and enjoy my kids' baseball games and then a relaxing night in with just my hubby! The kids went skating with friends. Movie night or us.. yay! Have a great weekend. Tammy

Hi it's me again! I just got the Walk Away The Pounds" video in the mail today so I did the 1 mile, then I figured I would move onto the 2 miles It was great. I got a nice workout! Then My son had baseball practice tonight, so my same friend and I walked for another mile around the baseball fields.. I can totally get into this walking thing.. He, He... Who would of thought.. lol So I determined I walked a total of 4 miles or 1 1/2 hours today!! (not all at once) Yeah me.. I am so excited. I knew I could do it if I had somebody to help push and motivate me. Jackie, I'd love to walk with you, but I live up by the stockton area, and I think you would out walk me.. I should go I need to fix dinner. Have a great night and see all of you in the morning!! Tammy

Good evening!! I had a busy day today!! I worked out to my "Biggest Loser Workout Video" I did 30 minutes of Low Intensity Cardio and I also did 20 minutes of the strength training. Then my daughter had baseball practice tonight. So a friend of mine and I walked around the track at their school and before we knew it we walked for an hour. How crazy is that? It is so nice not having to do it all by myself. So now I am sitting her relaxing updating all my goals I met today, and getting in my nutrition and fitness accomplishments and I can feel my legs throbbing!!!. Oh My Gosh... I am going to need to soak in a bath when I am done. I hope you all have a great night and see you tomorrow!! Tammy

Hey Donna!!!
2 really is a great age...my niece turned 2 in February and she is simply amazing!!! She changes so much from week to week...it just blows me away!!!
I started what I call my "Clean Sink Streak"!!! I make sure the dishes are done before I leave the house every day...no matter what time I have left the house, for the last 62 days, my sink was sparkling!!! It just gets my day going on a positive note!!!

Thanks Jackie~! Today I am getting stuff done before I get on the computer. If I don't fizzle out by noon. I love when my house in clean and in order. We have really busy schedules and if I don't keep it at least picked up(having a almost 2 year old) It becomes a real mess. She loves pulling all her toys out of her room. She's just at the age to learn to put them away again. Here's hoping. I have a couple other things I want to get done today. I got a new SP trophy too today~! Whew Hoooo.

Seems like the only thread that is getting utilized on this team is the Daily Check In so I will not be posting to myself anymore!!! If you all want to re-vitalize the team or the threads that would be great but it seems like our lovely Cali team may end up going the way of soooo many other regional team!!!
Hope everyone is doing well setting and reaching their goals!!!
Proud of myself for getting right back on track after 3 weeks of gaining!!! Even though my weight is still up slightly, my overall attitude, mood and disposition have greatly improved over the last 4 days!!! I don't know why I continue do this to myself...the outcome of excessive snacking is always the same!!! Glad to be on the other side of it today!!!
Got in a great run this morning on the treadmill!!! We're expecting rain today so I figured I better get to the gym and not risk the park after work!!!
I ran 5.46 miles...my longest run yet...in 45:09!!! Then I treated myself to 15 minutes in the sauna!!!
My biggest accomplishment so far is staying with it! I am down a total of 12.5 pounds - slow progress since I joined 1/17/08. But like my weight ticker shows I am the tortoise not the hare!
SP keeps me focused and I can see the 159 on the scale from here.

Good Morning Ladies!!!
Proud of myself for having an active and productive and fun weekend!!! Got some packing done at my mother's house on Saturday and was able to spend some quality time with my niece and sister in law on Sunday!!! We went to the Farmer's Market and to the park!!! Got the laundry and grocery shopping done too!!! And got caught up on my sleep if that is possible!!!
I did not get out to run on Sunday but have a 3 week training plan ready to start today!!! 3 weeks...I'm getting nervous!!!
My accomplishment today was to continue to train for my upcoming run...I ran 3.35 miles in 35 miles with my fastest speed at 6.5 mph!!! It was a great RUN and I feel like I am progressing!!!
Today was weigh-in and I have not moved much in terms of inches, but I have lost four more pounds. I came in at 156 today. That feels so good because I wanted to get under 160 so badly. Thanks again to all of you who support me and keep me on track!!!
Cheers~ Karen Grace

Good Evening Ladies!!!
Proud of myself for getting to the track and running 2.25 miles and getting that extra lap at the end when I felt like 2 miles was enough!!!
Good for you Christina!!! That's quite a workout!!! It took me a really long time to start doing ST but when I did finally start, I felt sooo much better!!!
My accomplishment for 3/5 was getting to the park after work and running 1.88 miles!!! It was two full laps but my pedometer only registered 1.88...pedometer aren't as accurate for running as they are for walking!!!
Keep setting and achieving those goals, Ladies!!! It's all about consistent baby step!!!
*Elliptical 50min (SP = ~630cals) *Strength Training with dumbell weights for 40min
Well, I have been saying that I was going to do weights and I finally started. "Planning" to do them every 2-3 days so there is recovery time.

Good Morning Ladies!!!
My proud moment is twofold today...yesterday while at Target, I bought a running outfit as motivation for my first race!!! I spent about 30 minutes looking and touching, picking things up and putting them back, hemming and hawing about should I or shouldn't I...well I bought the it and hung it on my dresser!!!!
Later in the day I found a local 5K in April which I decided I would try but did not register...not sure why...maybe hoping for someone to run with me!!!
Well this morning while watching the LA Marathon, I asked Kenny if he wanted to run with me and he said YES and without even a slight hesitation!!! Wooo Hooo and Hoooray for ME!!!
Hope everyone has a great day and if you can catch the marathon on TV, it is soooo inspiring!!!!

Keri~~~Your first accomplishment was posting here!!! Give yourself a pat on the back for that!!!

OH MY GOSH! Congratulation to everyone here! I've been going through and ready posts to catch up since I am such a newbie.

Hi All, the scale has been stuck at 145 lb for about 3 or 4 weeks now, and it was stuch at 144 lb for months before that, so I am going nowhere fast. My measurements have stayed the same at 37-29-37 (upper thighs at 20"), and I don't know why since I do exercise daily, my calories per day hover around 1500, and I gave up soda and potato chips long ago!
Still, I have some tiny little achievements to report:
1) I can now wear my original wedding ring which has not fit me (would not go past my knuckle) in years. I am now wearing it behind the new one my husband got me a few years back. I am thrilled to be wearing it again in time for our 20th wedding anniversary in mid-March.
2) I start work again tomorrow (teaching just 2 days per week at a Buddhist High School where I will teach 7th, 8th, and 9th/10th grade English), and I have freshened up (by washing and ironing) all my nicest shirts plus the matching tank tops, t-shirts and roll neck shirts that I like to under under them. I also washed my nicest pants and jeans, and ironed them for the first time ever!! They mostly were not dirty, just dusty from hanging on open rails, but I have put everything I might want to wear for work together on a rail in the wardrobe, and all my nicest undies are in a special drawer so that I can get dressed in a hurry and get out of here at 7 AM!
Not great achievements, but that's all I have.
Not all who wander are lost.

ok....This blew me away. I bought a new pair of exercise sweat pants and they are a 16/18... I haven't seen those numbers in years~! Yahooo. I was soooo excited. I also went to a family baby shower and everyone noticed I had lost weight. I am glad they can see it because its hard for me to. I am feeling more energy since I started, really slow exercise. Litrally just a few minutes a day is making a difference. I have a gazell which is really low impact especially on my knees. But it works my legs and arms at the same time.I really enjoy it. So throughout my day I jump on it for a quick little exercise time. My little girl enjoys it too. Thank you to you all for kind and encouraging words. Its what has made the difference. Blessings, Donna

Today marks the one year anniversary of my getting healthy plan. I reached my first goal weight in ten months, and my final goal weigh in 11 months. Everything else I lose is just icing.
I wrote a blog post yesterday about how far I've come and it's amazing what I've accomplished. I feel like a totally different person. I no longer say "I can't". I try before I say that, and even then I try and find alternative ways to do something "I can't".
It's been an amazing journey, and it's only just begun. I've got loads of things left to work on and I look forward to it.

WOW Ann, you had an amazing weekend! What accomplishments - you should be so proud of yourself.
I had a good weekend to. My deck is almost completely cleared, my dishes are done, clothes put away, I read a good part of my book and worked on a few projects. I also found some old clothes that now fit - I am on cloud nine!!! WOOHOO. It feels so good to have accomplished so much. Keeping my goals posted and in front of me is really working.
I am heading for bed; it is 11 and that is time for lights out - LOL. Take care and have a great nights sleep.

This weekend I feel I have accomplished a lot if I can count Friday! I mowed my lawn, something I have been letting go because I really don't like to do it. I washed my car, mopped my floors, did double workouts on Friday and Sunday, washed my clothes by hand (washer quit), did some gardening (weeding, pruning)and walked two days. I have been trying on clothes in my closet that were tight 2 months ago and I am able to wear some of them...that really makes me feel good! It certainly saves me some money! Tomorrow I hope to go through the stacks of paper I have let go and shred the things that have personal info on them. I also want to plant some flowers in my gardens now that I have them weeded.
I am supposed to call a local preschool tomorrow also. Friday a friend came in to the store that I worked with several years ago (she was my aide). She now is a lead preschool teacher at a local school and she said they are looking for someone to fill a temporary position for a few months. She told me to call and that she is going to put in a good word with the director. I am hoping this is my chance to get back into teaching!

How many of you get discouraged when you don't see the numbers moving on the scale? Now is a good time to post your progress when you need that mental boost to note your accomplishments and the scale is not registering all that you have accomplished.
The scale is not the only measure of success; celebrate all of your accomplishments, i.e.,
Did you drink all of your water today?
Have you lost inches on your waist?
Have you tried on clothes that you thought didn't fit and found that they do?
Did you exercise longer one day or resist a temptation?
Let everyone know how you measure your success.
Post your successes and be proud of every step you take. Remember, achieving a healthy lifestyle and weight loss is done one step at a time; think of it as a marathon, not a sprint. Baby steps will build a foundation that will last you a lifetime.
