Hey dancing queen!

I have been doing yoga on and off for about a year and a half. I started out real enthusiastic about it after I found a guy on tv that had a program I really liked. The shows started getting repetitive though so I started slacking and doing other things! Now I am doing yoga about once a week to stay limber. If I miss out, I start to feel really tense and I start craving a good yoga session!

Good luck tomorrow! I am still too self conscious to do a class of any sort, but I am sure you will love it! Slowing down and stretching out is a great way to de-stress! And it is a surprisingly intense workout!!!

Hello Dani, I'm starting a yoga class tomorrow. (Beginners) Have you been doing yoga for a while?

I'm excited, I never found interst in yoga until recently when I realized I need to slow down in life and balance myself out... I've been on the go; work, school, church and family! =)

Let me know how your yoga is treating you =)

Haha, yea that is why I looked into the TV guide to see if there was a yoga program i could try - I was too worried about not knowing what I was doing!

I'm just not disciplined enough to workout in my own home. Plus, I'm so anal about having a clean house to workout in --- I'd have a really hard time concentrating on my workout when I can see everything that needs to be done. Best for me to get away and over to the gym!
Of course, then there's the problem of feeling that "all eyes are on you" when at the gym, LOL! Not a great feeling when trying something new like YOGA! (Did I mention I'm not very coordinated?!)

YES! I have been trying to incorporate one day of yoga a week. THere is a guy on the oxygen channel I think that I like to watch. The show is called Inhale and I just tape it and do yoga in my living room. Fun stuff! I think it will be chilly at my race and I am not used to running in pants anymore. . . hope that is not a problem ! :) 4 more hours of work! Have a good day!

The race is THIS Sunday? Already? Wow, that came fast! Good luck - can't wait to see how well you do!
I really don't like riding my bike when it's cold - my ears really cannot handle it. I will toughen up this year tho and wear earmuffs. I'm just not ready to park the bike yet! I will be doing all my running indoors either on the track or treadmill. It's pretty boring, but since I have to limit myself so much I want to have immediate access to the elliptical and free weights right after my runs. I've started doing yoga too - feels great!

Hi Peggy and Inga! This group seems quiet!!! Maybe we need to have a party and wake everyone up! Race training is coming along, kind of taking it easy this week as my race is on Sunday (Wahoo!!!). But I got 8 miles in on Monday and I was really happy with that. Next week it is on to something new! I am trying to create my own workout schedule that kind of eases off of running and adds other stuff in, including strength training. I have been terrible about incorporating that! Peggy - so glad to hear that you are done with physical therapy, slowly but surely you will get back to where you need to be! What do you do now that it is getting chilly out? Do you do the bike and treadmill inside? That seems so much more boring!

Hey Dani! So glad to see you over here! I think you've done a terrific job since joining the site! How's the race training coming along? Are you going to be ready? :) JK! I know you'd be ready to run it tomorrow!
I've finally been released from physical therapy and have started VERY SLOWLY back into running. Only 1 mile at a time so far. It's going to be a looooong winter!

Hi All,

I have been using Spark since April and I love it! Since joining Spark I have lost 15 pounds and am super excited about it! Found the Illinois group on Mrs. DaisyDuck's page and here I am! I have lived in Illinois my whole life and somehow most of my friends live out of state. I moved out to Lake in the Hills three years ago and am working in Schaumburg. Anyone around Schaumburg or the northwest territory? Always looking for new buddies and excited to be a part of the team! Hope everyone is having a happy and healthy Tuesday!
