It really is Deni. I don't get to do it often because it involves a lot of travel (nothing locally). Mostly I do ballroom, but when there is an opportunity for a weekend like that one, who can resist? :)
"If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours."- Henry David Thoreau
The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance, the wise grows it under his feet. - James Oppenheim, short-story writer, novelist, poet
We should consider every day lost in which we have not danced at least once. - Nietzsche, philosopher
I've been doing a lot of dancing, mostly ballroom, but enjoyed an English country dance weekend. Here is the first video of the Saturday evening ball. There will be a part 2. The dress is (for most) period dress. Think about the movie "Pride and Prejudice." The weekend from Friday night through Sunday morning included 13 hours of dancing. During all of that, I sat out 1 dance only to attend to some personal matters. If you decide to watch the video, I do hope that you enjoy it.
Just wondering who is still here. Weight is still holding, but with the holidays approaching (or here if you count the annual deluge of Halloween candy), I am thinking we will all be needing support and suggestions.
I plan to make healthier dishes for the parties and watch portion control. Exercise is a top priority, in part because of the mood-lifting properties this darker time of year. I am working running back into my exercise after a hiatus due to injury. Hope I don't re-injure myself because I have come to love the runs (actually, I probably love the endorphins, but the end result is the same). Been using my 94 pound lab as a personal trainer by playing tug-of-war. This seems to be a great isometric exercise - just change the angle of the pull to work a different muscle.
So - what are you all up to?
The only restrictions any of us have in life are those we place on ourselves.
Do your damnedest in an ostentatious manner all the time. George S. Patton
