Yes, and my tendon problems are predominantly on my left side; it's the left shoulder problem, the left knee I fell on Christmas Eve 2010 and my left Achilles Tendon that hurts the most (almost as bad as when I had too much Levaquin in 2003 ( www.janssenpharmaceuticalsinc.com/si
te
s/default/files/pdf/levaquin.pdf#zooR>m=100
Check out the black box warning). I know about the knee bone being connected to the shin bone, etc. :-) your whole body adjusts to things; a podiatrist made me insert for my shoes and they threw off my knees; you aren't meant to be "perfect" like they'd like to make you; each side is slightly different and your body does its own adjusting.

I was surprised to find that my knee/shoulder issues were related. The therapist told me that when you get ready to move a body part, other parts actually move/adjust to accommodate the change in balance.

I can't believe the weekend after this is Labor Day! Today is DH's birthday, September has our anniversary and October, my birthday, then November is Thanksgiving and December. . .

The shoulder pain is frustrating because it moves around, is more or less, doesn't pay much if any attention to pain meds, 85% of it is only at night (it's the shoulder I sleep on but I've been sleeping on that shoulder for 62 years?). I think there's a nutritional/vitamin/mineral thing happening. Sometimes the shoulder coincides with knee and Achilles tendon (making me think it is a tendon thing) and playing with my vitamin D and, sometimes, calcium, etc. can make the others a whole lot better and the shoulder somewhat more comfortable but nothing stands still enough to give me confidence that "X" would help it.

This week I've been way more active than usual and have spent less time on the computer in a position that might be compromising it, etc. so I'm paying attention to what is happening with that.

Therapy might just be the way to go. Pain indicates something is wrong and there might even be something out of alignment causing a pinch. I see a chiropractor regularly due to pain issues and it really helps (more so than the physical therapist I had seen previously). Occasionally, I see a massage therapist and that helps as well.

Yes, I had/did that video for awhile a year or two ago. I go in and out of walking goals; don't really like walking, by myself, just to walk. It's only when I have somewhere to go or am with others and find I'm winded/holding them back that I "wish" I'd worked at it emoticon .

Now I'm having a problem with my shoulder and am even having trouble doing simple stretching exercises for it. You'd think pain would be a good motivator but does not appear to be. The problem is, during the day I'm fine but when I go to bed, after awhile I get enough pain to wake me or make it difficult to get back to sleep if I wake to roll over or whatever. It does not appear to be the bed/position, pain meds (Advil-type as well as stronger, prescription) don't have much impact and seem to rebound, and doing "nothing" for a few weeks, it doesn't appear to be getting "better" slowly or anything. Too, I thought it might be my vitamins I was taking or nutritional issues (too much candy/beer/not enough water?) but changing that hasn't shown anything either. My doctor wanted me to do physical therapy but I declined that at this time, said I'll see what I could do on my own, first. So, here we are, on my own and not doing much. . . :-)

Have you seen the DVD "Walking off the Pounds"? It does walk in place a lot, but it may help. And, you can do it indoors.

This weather has been so weird! I haven't been able to do my usual activities this week yet (maybe Sunday) because of the storm/power outage on Friday and then the continued heat and humidity trying to upset my asthma balance. My asthma was doing so well before but now it's back to "normal", which isn't horrible but disappointing. It's supposed to start going down to the 80's instead of these mid- to high-90's (supposed to get to 101 today) and being in the 60's at night, etc. I just hope they don't have to conserve electricity again like last week. They turn the power off for 20 minutes (suddenly/without warning) and that's a pain.

I was doing a 5K walking program but haven't been able to walk so may have to start that over again or something.

Love the early mornings when everyone is still asleep and the world is quiet. It is especially nice if I can get over to the beach to walk.

I love when summer comes around and I can send DH to the backyard to barbecue. However, recently I've been giving up all attempts to cook dinner and keep things well-rounded and full of fruits and veggies, etc. I want to get back to that, starting today.

Well, I'm helping lead a team challenge in July so guess I'll spend the next week getting myself in shape to get in shape, LOL.

Did you all see all the new stuff under measurements here on one's Start page? It's cool, stress and sleep and fitness measurements and stuff for your doctor, etc. for health.

You all can come to my place; I'm on the water and have a dock and boat and am a firm believer of BBB fishing too. The boat has a place in back one can sit too, on cushions looking backwards (for watching any water skiers and one can sit there and fish in comfort with cup holders!

But we've been having too much rain the last few weeks; just when the weather has been getting teeshirt warm, the rain has been falling! I'm just getting a little gardening done (since it's a tiny townhouse, do it all "by hand" with push mower, etc.).

Notice the wake behind him; he's my "angel" of the Chesapeake, LOL. His son was driving the boat but obviously everyone was on the same side so it's all a bit lopsided with the weight :-)

The BBB sounds about right, haha. We can only go to so many places on land, we don't have a boat. If we did rent one, I'd rather take it out for a ride!!!

I DO take my camera with me! LOL! I am sure I bug some of the serious ones too, but hey I can't get out as much as them.

Love to fish, but DH makes to too much work - poles in every pole holder on the boat. The minute someone gets a bite, the other person has to run around and get the others out of the way!

I like BBB fishing where you have a bobber, a book, and a beer. You read and sip until the bobber goes under, then you put the beer and book down and see what's under the bobber. If that's too much, just don't bait the hook.

GG! I can't remeber the last time I went fishing? I never could stand to be still that long? I always wanted a camera or paints to do what I saw. Made a the 'serious' fishermen or people? mad!

Mostly going with the DH jobs & weather- warmer the better for me & hound wogs- which unfortunately means earlier for the hounds to be comfortable & me NOT being eatten alive by the mosquitoes!
Time will tell whether DH's 'new fitness plan' of using a new stationary bike works- I like it, easy to do while watching TV. Hopefully it will help 'nudge' me back or even closer to where I was in Feb. I'm up to 120 lbs!

Trying to up my cardio intensity. STILL remodeling the house.

Right now there are no travel plans - I usually like to head south after Labor Day when my husband can get away.

I plan to continue my gardening / landscaping projects (10 year plan); and I shall continue my photography (including several trips into the wilderness. I also hope to increase the number of evenings out dancing, both English country dancing and contra dancing. I may get involved with some Irish dancing with a little wee bit o luck.

Next weekend is Memorial Day in the U.S. What are people doing about the summer? Any vacation or get-with-it/back in shape plans, etc.?

I have a quiet week happening now so I'm working on my focus and plans for the next 2-3 months.
