I just realized we're coming up on the start of 5 years in about 6 months! I decided to switch my ticker to that, see what I can do for my 5 year SparkAnniversary.

And, you started this thread so you can edit your first post here and change the title to "SP 3rd Year Anniversary" or "SP 4th Year" or something :-)

DUH - It just dawned on me that I started sparking again during the 3rd anniversary of this team! Not sure if that means anything except being kinda cool.

My husband snores too and I'm a bit sensitive to noises at night. Mostly it's all the stuff that happens after menopause that is getting me; I don't know why I just assumed from what one reads/hears that it was a piece of cake once menopause ended but after about 2 years all sorts of things start to "change" again and it ain't fun.

I wake for the hot flashes and roll over to a cool spot. But, I can't get back to sleep because my husband snores like a freight train. When he is away, I go right back to sleep.

In fact, I kind of like the hot flashes because all my life I have been freezing! When I was a child, my father called me 'grandma' because I would sit by the fire wrapped in a blanket.

I have my quarterly doctor's appointment Tuesday so I'm going to start "again" from there, sigh.

Yes, the peri-menopause 10 or so years are not so fun because you get weird things happening and it's only years later you figure out it must have been hormones, etc. Then, after menopause, it doesn't really let up; the hormones keep going away so you get other stuff that wasn't even on your radar popping up!

I'm 60 now and couldn't tell you the last time I literally slept through the night/for more than 4-5 hours straight; doesn't happen anymore.

Wait a minute...sleep deprivation comes with menopause?!? My last baby is now a year old and so I haven't had real sleep in a long time. I hope menopause doesn't kick in for another 20 years or I'll never get any sleep!!

As for the 3rd anniversary, after having pretty good success, I'm back where I started - not so much because of the baby but because I used being pregnant and having a new baby as an excuse to not exercise. I'm encourage by all of you who have stuck with it!

I just joined the Spring Bootcamp so I'm hoping that will jump start my sparking again!!

Yes, I just put a good spin on my weight loss for the 3 years; I may have initially lost more than I weigh now but I have "kept off" weight in the last 3 years; I don't weigh as much as when I started as well as being more healthy.

Well, as I approach my 3rd anniversary...

My weight is pretty much holding at/near my goal weight. I tend to weigh 2-5 pounds more from Nov to Feb so as long as I stay in range, I don't panic.

Menopause is setting in, which gives me an entirely new set of health issues. Sleep deprivation is the main one - you would not like to meet me when I am sleep deprived. emoticon

I do eat better for the most part with less effort. Chicken wings, fries, and beer are still my favorite meal but I limit myself to once or twice a month instead of a couple of times a week (generally Sat/Sun).

I find I really enjoy exercise and like trying new ones - most recently Tae Bo.

The only restrictions any of us have in life are those we place on ourselves.

So, what's different now between your 1 year and your 3 year anniversary?

I had an amazing dream/thinking thing going around 5:30 this morning where I went back in time to about 1980 and looked at things there from what I know now/here. I realized that true personal change happens so slowly that it's hard to notice its differences while they're happening. What would you do back then to make today better if you could go back two years with the confidence and knowledge you have now?

You're the first day, Shell? Great! I've decided I'm not going to weigh again until mine, the 30th; what's that, Thursday? Maybe I'll make that my new weigh-in day or something like that.

We all have ups and downs (been down myself lately with my weight up a bit - hope that makes sense). The weather is getting so much nicer - I am sure the puppies will be happy to help you get out to exercise and the sunlight will perk you up!

I started Spark on the 2nd of May - what a year it has been! I'm not done yet, but it sure feels different to be me with 70 pounds less to carry around.
I'll write something in the team journal on the day, just to celebrate.

Congratulations to all of us for sticking around here!

We're starting a Biggest Loser contest at work on May 1 - just in time for me to get serious again after the winter doldrums (and no weight loss in months). I've got to get back on track!!

well I'm comimg up on my 1 yr. anniversary... not as happy as I thought I would be.. I had expected to have lost 30 pounds by now.. sadly.. it is only 20.... haven't lost any weight since Jan. 15th... haven't gained either.. so I know.. that is VERY positive. We just started the biggest loser at my gym... yup!! I joined up... I'm on a great team.... hopefully I will drop a few more pounds in the next 6 weeks.. I would like it to be 10.. but I'm not thinking that ... just something. so I'm back to charting food and making sure I drink 8 glasses of water a day!!!

I don't know of any other way to make our Anniversary Journal Open? but to put it on our Spark Page Blogs- no one can view what is here unless they are a member of the Team.

I like the idea of the Community Journal because then we can share it with the rest of the SP world. But, in the Community Journal you can then link to your blog? (or is that what you were suggesting?!?)

I also like the idea of posting on your anniversary date - makes it a little more special. I'll have to add that to my appts so I remember!

I've been playing on "50" on my sparkpage since I will have lost 50 pounds this year and was born in 1950. I'm working on 50 weeks and 50 "more" days from my 300th day which is now/this week (350 days is 50 weeks, 50 x 7), etc.

Yes, great idea with what we've learned; maybe we should post on our actual anniversary day? Mine is April 30, for example; that way we'll have 7 days of people posting on "their" anniversary.

K- guys looks like an Open Community Journal it is. I'll send Group Emails to inform the Team Members & we'll see what happens. So sharpen your pencils, we'll list it starting the Mon. of 23rd of this April. That will allow a full week of postings till the end of our Anniversary!

Now are there any Team Goals for the Year we'd like to make?

I think sharing is a great idea! What if we create a community journal for our class for the week of April 27 - May 3? Encourage everyone in the class to post during that time.

Maybe Shellpro can send out a few emails to inform everyone and prep them? We have two months to remind people. Then create the community journal on the 27th? (or maybe the 26th?)

Whaddya think?

I like DENI 47's idea. I would love to participate in sharing what helped and what inspired us and we can all use more examples of what helped. I think by now we have all lost some of our initial glow from the beginning. Maybe we can think of a way to inspire people to get more active again now that spring is on it's way. If others are like me they really struggle with the winter.

We're coming up on our one year anniversary. I know we haven't all been consistent (I know I haven't!), but can we do something to celebrate? Maybe a challenge leading up to something fun? Maybe try and up our ranking? Try and get class members back and involved?
