Hi I'm new, I am Sandi I will be 65 in a few days. I was looking over the different site's to find people in my age bracket. I just came back from vacation in Upstate New York. I live in St Petersburg Fl. I have been on a very low carb plan only 4 carbs per food catagory . mostly protean and fiber. Meat, Cheese, eggs, and green vegetables. I started 5 months ago, at 241 lbs. I am at 204 lbs. now. I go to the YMCA 2 times a week. I was walking 3 to 4 miles 3 days a week before I went on vacation. Now it is too hot to walk . I will swim 3 days a week now until it gets cool enough to walk again.
Hi, thanks to you who already welcomed me. I turn 60 in November and thought I should get a jump on this new age bracket. I never had much fear and intrepidation about aging, but 60 is surreal. I did a crisis move yesterday and bought a kayak. I live in Chicago area with my 2 grown sons. We have an exotic cat that owns us. I am a nurse, will work till I drop with the stock market messing up so badly. I love the work so that's o.k. I have many hobbys, I'm a very active outdoor kinda girl, garden, bike (pedal kind) and generally like to challenge myself to step outside the box. I went hot air ballooning last fall, highly recommend it, very peaceful. See you around....

Welcome Janey, You could try some sparkling water. I sometimes drink "Clear America" which we pick up at Wal-Mart. It is a carbonated water that is flavored and sugar free. I drink it when plain water doesn't seem to quench my thirst. Another way would be to put a container of water in each room and drink some every time you go into that room. I had a friend that did this and it worked for her. Good luck. Shirley
Hi Janey, It was nice to see someone from Iowa. What part of Iowa do you live in? I was born in Iowa, But we now live in Minnesota. We winter for 2 and a half months out in AZ. We are still there but will be going home the end of March. Does anyone have tips on how to drink 8 glasses of water every day. It seems like to much for me. ha I just joined in Jan. of 2009. I am still trying to find my way around the spark site. Hang in there, everyone. Annie
Welcome to the team, Janey! I was born in Iowa and still have several relatives there. As a matter of fact, I am leaving in the morning for Newton to my Aunt's. I hope to be on SP more in 2009. Good luck with your program.
Never give up...be thankful for what you have done!
You'll all been so kind to welcome me with open arms:) I know I'll need lots of support from all of you. I had a good day yesterday and am committed to do the same temperate eating today. Calorie count was 1275 and the best part was, I wasn't hungry:) Hope you all have a good day......
Hello and welcome Janey. My name is Janice. I am a retired school teacher (still subbing). I have 3 children. I have 3 grandsons and 4 granddaughters, One of whom went to be with her heavenly Father in October. I also have 1 dog, 5 cats and 2 kittens. This is a great site and yes we are zany people. At our age we can afford to be zany. We don't have to impress people anymore. Best wishes on your weight loss journey. Janice from SE Ohio
