My ankle's been hurting me this week so it's been a calorie watching week and not a workout week. One is better than none though!

Just checking in. . . Been working on more exercise lately. Though I'm waiting for the extra energy to kick in, I haven't had problems with insomnia lately. When to the gym after work with my kids today. They actually want to go again tomorrow!

Changing up routines help to jumpstart things. Also upping the intensity a little. Kind of wakes the metabolism up to get working.

GR8BBB, it sounds to me like you're doing okay on your calorie intake, although you might want to reduce your intake a little bit on that 7th day that you normally go over. Also, you may want to change up your exercise routine. Try a round on an elliptical trainer. It's easy on the knees but it burns a ton of calories. Good luck!

I need support, I don't understand what I am doing wrong.

I exercise at least 6 days per week, riding my stationary bike and or walking either outside or on the treadmill, I wear a heart rate monitor and am burning between 200 - 700 cal per day depending on how much I walk or bike.

I put my calories into the nutrition tracker daily and stay within my calorie range 6 out of 7 days per week with one high cal day(which is usually over)

My problem is that I am overly sick of losing the same 1-3 lbs over and over and over again, I can't seem to get down under those few lbs. I am getting very discouraged and everyday it is a struggle to exercise or eat right knowing it is not going to matter because today I am up a few lbs and tomorrow I will be down those same few lbs

help any suggestions

Bev

I posted on my nutritional tracker the past 2 days. First 2 days in a row in 3 weeks. I did go over my calories for those 2 days...but I tracked. Hopefully today will be with in range.

I too have fallen off the logging food for a few days, and then I will get back onto it for a few days. It does take up time. I was thinking it would be so much easier to write it in a journal, but I have to still figure in my fiber, iron etc that I am aditionally tracking.

I too, am cursed with emotional eating. It is very hard to feel bad and see food and not eat everything in sight. I am trying hard to stop it, and I am having some success, much more because I have folks here to talk to and to find another way of getting things out of my system. I have cut out lots of my old comfort foods, like chocolate and crisps, and it wasn't that hard to do once I decided I was going to do it. I hope I can keep it up no tho!

Christie I think you are right personally feel about 80% of people have some kind of dependence on food and that is why we are over weight too many of us turn to it to get us through tough situations.

It's so hard to retrain our mind. I know I have turned to food in many situations. Stress, tired, bored, angry etc. The list goes on. I am not sure how I became to rely on it so heavily. For some time there I seemed to not depend on it as much. I had lost a bunch of weight and kept it off for a couple of years. Then slowly I turned to it for comfort. There may be some folks here on SP that aren't dependant on food. My opinion is I (we) didn't get to be 30, 40 , 50 etc.(100 + lbs for me) overweight by eating when we were only hungry or just eating a few extra calories. I pray my dependence on food will gradually change.

Yes it is a normal reaction it happens I believe to everyone Hang in there guys it will get better

And as for me this week has been rough as I knew this was the week I was having Precious put down its been coming for a couple of years and she was starting to have lots of problems didn't want her to suffer any more so today was the day the vet was really awesome about. If you are an pet owner you know this is one of the hardest decisions that one has to make and doesn't get any easier over the years.

Emotionally I'm a wreck I have let it interfere with my eating healthy I will get back on track again. I've fallen off the wagon before and I bounce back .

Wow Christie. I am at a similar place right now. I quit logging my food about 3 weeks ago after a couple of days on the road. I just needed a break and it seemed like I was stressing over finding time to log nutrition rather than expend some energy. I plan on getting back into a routine July 1st. Nothing special around that date but I just needed a goal date to organize and get my mind set on posting again. I am still eating fairly healthy and am exercising. I just couldn't enter food because it was taking a great deal of my time, that I didn't seem to have to spare. Hang in there. If we are both feeling the same way it must be a normal reaction, right?

I know what you are feeling I get soooo tired of tracking my foods, though for me when I don't track I gain I have made my goal weight before here back in march then April gained 10 back and May the end of the month got back to goal

I now track even when I go over board with calories that way I am in a routine with it don't stay to long of a time on not tracking it will be harder to get into the groove of things

It's okay to take some time off from tracking just don't give up You can do it!!!!

Looking for help. I've been here before. I feel lost. I've only tracked once in the last 3 weeks. What started this downward spiral. My vacation. It's like those few days broke my stride. My intentions are good most days. I plan on eating healthy. Im tired of calculating and thinking about what foods to eat.
I am approaching my 3 month mark. I dont want to give in. Im just not sure mentally how to turn this around. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did it...so believe me, it can be done. That day was maybe the 3rd time I'd been on a bike in years. I took time and rode at comfortable pace.

I pulled out my bike last month, as we finally got a few good riding days. I rode Chicago's Bike the Drive event...I rode about 25 miles. It was tough, but the next day, I felt so alive. I'e been riding weekly ever since.
