Congrats, Dawna! I hope you're feeling well so far and excited about the coming addition to the family!

I have just been doing some walking myself... on SP a bit more, but not logging enough yet... working on it. 2014 has been a very rough year.

I have been walking a lot more, but I'm not really working on losing weight right now. I just found out that I'm pregnant! Due in July :)

Been so long since I have checked in here... don't know how I managed to get so disconnected... but it happened... I'm back to being on SP more now. Hope to see some others wander in, too!

I've gained weight the last 2 weeks. I know what I am doing wrong and I know how to fix it. I just have no motivation to do it. I find that the closer we get to September, the more emotional I am getting. I KNOW exercise will help with the excess emotions, but sitting on my butt and stuffing my face is more seductive at the moment.

Hi all! Just dropping in to say g'day from this side of the pond, I hope you've all been doing really well.

I'm back to tracking on SP, good old faithful comes to the rescue again, just working on re-losing the 10lbs that have crept back on over the last few years so I will be around for a while again.

Take care,

I'm down 2.4 lbs this week!!! I changed up my elliptical workout today and split it in half with a 10 minute break in between. I actually felt like I worked harder!

I have been challenging myself to get 30 minutes on the elliptical. I started out at 10 minutes. My kindle is my secret! I either watch part of a show on Netflix or read a book while listening to music. Gotta keep my mind busy!

sounds yummy!!

weighing in is always a good idea, keeps you on track. I weigh myself EVERY morning on the same scale in the same place as soon as I wake up. Its always best to do it then because if you wait, you get a unreliable number due to food and beverage consumption. I am usually up 2 pounds by evening.

Gettin back in the swing of things myself, hittin the gym again regularly :)

Weighed in yesterday. Gained 3 lbs, weighed again a few hours later and it was only 2 lbs. Weighed this morning and was down another pound. I had AF last week and ended up skipping 3 days of exercise, which explains the gain. Either way, back on track! Woke up and did 30 minutes on my elliptical. Now I am eating blueberry pancakes with a smidgen of butter and syrup.

Let me just say that I LOVE having my own elliptical! I use my kindle with some ear buds to listen to music AND read. Makes the 20 minutes go by faster. Eventually I will work up to an hour long show on Netflix :)

Thank you both for the kind words. When we held Gabriella, we could see how sick she was, and that has helped me to be at peace.

Deb... it is so EASY to forget that there is healthy food all around us. I know that I bypass them just because it would take more work to prepare the fresh foods. It is definitely something I'm working on again. That and portion sizes!

I'm so sorry, Dawna. And Good work, to both of you, that you're addressing it. The emotional pain should be honored and dealt with in words, emotions and actions--not added to our bodies to plague us!!

My recent 5 lbs were just plain stupid--no excuse other than I suddenly decided if I could eat without thought on my vacation to Belize, I could do it always! Of course, on that vacation we were hiking and walking and swimming and going constantly, and there was only really healthy food available--but I conveniently "forgot" that!!

But I'm dealing with it as well. We will not be sucked back in to the old paths. We deserve real, healthy, open lives, with healthy bodies!!

Mine was more emotional than physical. DH and I got pregnant in December, found out our baby had a chromosome disorder in February, and she passed in May at 24 weeks. During my pregnancy, I actually lost 15lbs. I have been playing with 5lbs since.

And it is SO much harder coming off! I am eating good and working outg like crazy, but it just gets harder and harder to take off pounds as we get older :(

My knee-jerk reaction was "weekends suck"--which is utterly stupid of me, since I love weekends!!

I think something more along the lines of "I suck at making wise choices on the weekend" is what I need to see! I did not do quite as badly this weekend, simply because I really did realize I'm in a bad and dangerous place. But weekends are the reason the bad stuff happened in the first place. Well--and vacations, too.

I'm off to change my tracker.

If you're working out again and eating right, you'll get there!

Which I need to tell myself. I 'suddenly', at the end of last week, realized I was flirting with my old 'upper limit'. And it is too high. It happened slowly, up 2, down 3...up 3, down 2, again and again, till I have gained 5 or 6 lbs. Nasty.

I'm going to reset my weight Monday--Haven't changed it in ages cause I was thinking I was having 'normal fluctuations".... Nope. I was slowly gaining.

Dang. emoticon

Back to work.

Oh! And speaking of biking... today's ride was the most elevation climb I have done in a single ride - EVER! I didn't have any panic moments. Really happy with how the ride went.

Now to go pack! And get a little sleep... dang little, cuz it's 11:15pm and I have to be up at 6:30 because we're swimming at 7:30am - before we leave for Tahoe! ACK!

OMG - sorry about the toe... but the rest of the stuff sounds AMAZING!!!

I've done NOTHING all year, and now I have something happening like EVERY weekend.

I'm off this weekend to North Shore - for Ironman Lake Tahoe. We have a volunteer meeting at 2pm tomorrow. Then a Club dinner. Then we're going to be able to see the swim start, work a shift on the bike course in the afternoon, and then we're making our way to the finishing area to cheer people on.

Next weekend, I think I'm doing a 5k and then doing to the Dixon Corn Maze (the largest one) with friends.

Then the weekend after that is 32 miles in Levi's Grand Fondo in Santa Rosa. The weekend after that is the Golden State Sprint Distance Triathlon.

Then the weekend after that, I think I get a break! It's the weekend of Trophy Cup, but we've decided to not go this year. The last weekend in October is the SJVLPA benefit concert with the Chris Gardner Band... and probably something for Halloween...

I'll be ready to collapse by November!

Belieze sounds amazing!!

I feel mushy, although its a few pounds, and actually I am 116.8 today, I really haven't been in a routine of lifting since I got back from aruba, so my definition is not what it was :( No doubt that if not this weekend, come monday, I am back to lifting hard core like my normal self!! The toe is almost back to normal :) will have to jump back in to INSANITY too

Hi wild woman! We've been inactive here, it's true. I see Audra on Facebook, biking her legs off--makes me feel like a slug!! I'm weaseling around, exercising pretty well, eating right on the edge.

So glad you got to have such a fun trip! Not been there, but from pictures it looks like Aruba has such great water. And I hope to hear what you think of Panama. We're going to Belize in March, but that's AGES away!!

Your toe experience sounds horrible--aaagh! But it's hard to buy mushy in two pounds--though when you're right at goal, it does make an immediate difference, so I guess I have to remember you know what you're talking about when you're talking about your own body!!

Oh no!! Our little team has become inactive!!

I have been out and about, I started working out 2x a day before I went to Aruba in July!! My boyfriend & I went to Wildwood NJ July 11-14, then I had my cousins weeding the next weeked and then, We went to ARUBA!! It was AMAZING! I got to 115.6 the morning we left!! When I got back it was hard to get back in the swing of things. I just started to really get going, and restrated INSANITY when Sat the 7th of this month, I stubbed my toe SO HARD on sidewalk walking dog that the tip of my toe actually came off LOL!! The skin barely hung on, then looked like it was reattaching, but came off a few days ago. Now I am FINALLY able to workout again!! I am 117.6 but I feel mushy :(
Going to Panama with my best friend Terri 11/6!! Gotta start working out hard again!!

Smart woman with the stretchy yoga stuff--for everything, but especially that hip. Your plan is ambitions and challenging, and I say hats off to you!!!

We take our babygirl back today! :( I will miss her so much!!! But I know it will give me time to do other things... sigh... :)

I can't have my nemesis(s) in the house either--even driving by one specific cupcake place is dangerous--I may literally take a different route.

Don't you just love the spike you get from sodium and a binge? It adds up fast, but at least goes down quickly, as long as you don't keep it up!

I just can't have stuff in my house... I can't have snack foods... even salted almonds are a no-no... so no chips, popcorn, etc. And NO NO NO peanut butter... plain almonds are okay. That's about it!

Decided tonight what I'd like my "race season" to look like.
If things go as planned, it will be 6/30 Aqua Bike - 1.5K swim, 40K bike
8/3 Sprint Tri - .5mi / 16mi / 3 mi
And in Sept - either the Woman's Triathlon Festival (what I did last year) or Pacific Grove Olympic. It will depend on if I can get a wetsuit, if I can get over the fear of swimming with kelp, and if my back/hip will allow me to return to running to do the 10K. If any of those things is a NO, then I'll do the Festival.
And I've started a stretch/yoga/pilates based program for my back/hip to help with that.

Yes, that's the exact kind of irrational thoughts I get with sweets. Crazy thinking--but so easy! Because getting them out of the danger zone IS a good goal. Just an irrational plan for doing it.

Having sweets in their own controlled area may be the most and best I can do. Not all over my life, not all over any days, but at specific times and places. When I do that, I do well.

The danger, of course, is them jumping the fence...

I had a really bad weekend of eating! I, too, thought I could eat like I used to! I went into the weekend friday at 121.8 and ended monday at 125.0!! Luckily, after running 5 miles tues and 4.5 miles yesterday and eating better i was 121.6 this morning!! I still have a few girl scout cookies though. I keep telling myself I have to eat them so I can be rid of them LOL!!

I believe you're probably right. But I can't seem to make myself do it. I find all sorts of reasons--like "I didn't have to do it last time", or "I shouldn't have to live like that just for my weight".

I am seriously corralling when I eat it, and maybe that will help...

We take Mary back home tomorrow, and they arrive in the evening. We will miss her. She has been wonderful--a blessing for us to have so much time with her.

But we will not miss their dogs. The biggest one has not been "bad" in that she hasn't growled at me or threatened to bite me this time, but we've had some horrible dogfights in our house--a horrible experience. She's just not fun to keep.

Have you read about the appetite/cravings caused by wheat? Since you're craving baked goods, maybe you're just "high on wheat" and need to detox off that.

I'm so glad to hear you're losing again, Audra. I have had some real struggles with carbs again--it's my core issue. Not just any carbs--I have no interest in salty things, or fried--it's totally sweets, baked goods. I had a bad up the scale move, thought I had it under control...then back again...not sure where I am now, but I'll be back to work tomorrow so I'll know then. I'm dreading it.

I know what happens with me. I keep re-believing that I can eat "like I used to". And I really could eat like that, at one time. But that is not true now, and hasn't been for ages, and still I do it.

I may buy some scales today. They won't be exactly the same as the ones at work--they're medical scales, which is why I've always used them. But perhaps it will help me stay on track on the weekends, my utterly worst time of all.

As for me... I have been slowing losing... usually a half-pound to a pound a week. Wish it was more... my output and intake numerically should be more, but my body is fighting me... But I keep fighting back!

I went MIA after I reaggrivated my back. Sitting just kills me... so I have been trying NOT to sit and be on a computer at home any more than I need to.

Training is going well - aside from the fact that I cannot run since this back issue cropped up. But I'm swimming (at least a mile at a time now), biking (I've "graduated" from new riders to "blue short" and have been clipped in to my bike the last few rides), walking (3 or 4 miles at a time), strength training (strength and agility), and doing yoga (I fell in love with Yin yoga).

Will try and be around more - miss you guys!

Happy Belated Birthday - and congrats on your slot winnings!!! It's good to see you here again! (Even though I have been MIA)

Deb, I haven't read Wheat Belly, but I have the Wheat Belly Cookbook and have read the intro there, which goes into the "frankengrain" story. I gave up wheat (for the most part) at the end of March. I've splurged on two weekends and indulged - and it takes a day or two to recover!

For me, being a carboholic, it took the better part of April to quit craving breads. I have not gone grain free. I have not gone paleo. I have however reduced my overall carb intake - by design. I'm trying to get my carb to protein ratio as close to 1:1 as possible.

They make rice and almond flours - haven't dabbled too much into that yet. I have however discovered that I do not like the taste of flax. Used it to make the "chicken nuggets" and basically ended up scraping as much of the coating off as I could and dunking the chicken into ranch dressing to make it edible, because I didn't want to waste the meat!

Non-gluten gems: Larabars (the chocolate brownie is amazing if you're craving) for travel/energy bars. I use them pre-workout quite often and then make sure I have a high protein meal post-workout (eggs, etc.). Costco has an 18-pack and you can sometimes find them on sale at Target.

Life!

Good night out with friends last night. However, though I love them dearly, and always enjoy my time with them, I always eat, and drink, too much when we're with them. Not "bad" too much, nothing inappropriate, but still too much. No idea how to fix it--what we do is go to wine club and out for dinner, where someone--and last night it was me--brings a bottle of something we all liked to share with the table. The problem is, next morning, I feel "sluggish"--there's an icky word--and have no focus!

Ah well.

Healthy choices today. And MAYBE the boat and dinner on the lake tonight!!! YES! I want summer!

Ah well--was worth a check! I'm just now investigating it myself.

I'm stuck at a weight just over where I should be, I'm not happy with my belly, and I'm apparently not willing to track.

Dang. I need to have a serious talk with myself.

Smart move, leaving before dessert!

Has anyone
1. read Wheat Belly?
2. Learned anything useful that they trust about the post 1960 wheat changes?
3. Used Einkorn wheat?

Hey everybody emoticon

Job training is going very well. Waiting on background check for me to be official and start my regular schedule. The last week and a half have been CRAZY! Leilani had surgery on 4/4 to have her tonsils and adenoids removed and tubes put in her ears. Luckily I was able to be with her most of her recovery. Can't wait to get a routine in place!

It is hard to stay steady when we go to extremes on the weekend--which I also do. Here's to holding the line, not losing ground, and resuming forward motion next week!

O my!! Sounds like everyone havd a fun busy weekend!! I have been going NON STOP! My best friend has 2 yearly garage sales, 1st is this Sat. So I have been purging!! YOu would not believe how much EXTRA crap I fit into my STUDIO apartment!! I got 3 full boxes ready to go and I still am not completely finished!!

My boyfriend & I attempted to go to car show Friday, but he got moody with traffic so we turned around and went to local bar for a beer loL! I went home and cooked & cleaned!! Sat I went to my hour CKO Cardio kickboxing then we hopped the train into the city!! Walked around all day to/at/&from car show, missed the junction train in Secaucus!! Had another drink waiting!! By the time I got home it was 8PM and I still was cleaning (TONS of Dishes!!) cut 2 heads lettuce, cut n cleaned strawberries mixed them into sugar free jello. trimmed over 2 piounds chiocken, marinated half cooked the rest, and I think thats it finally sat down by 10!!

Sunday I hit the gym for a chest workout before my 930 CKO class, and it was off to grammas!! 3 loads laundry, cooking, and visiting Grampa which is draining emotionally so needless to say, I am EXHAUSTED today!! got home 730 last night and cleaned things out till 11! Cooked more chicken lol!! Trying to catch up here at work but hard to keep focused!!

Thomas, sounds like a fun day. Glad that your hamstring survived your long run. My right hip is still pretty unhappy... especially after spending all night working on my taxes and being jammed up on my laptop most of the afternoon and evening. At least they're ready to file... Sigh...

Today's bike ride was INSANE. The first big hill hit a 9.6 degree incline, which is the steepest thing I've even gone up... and it was so steep and long on the descent, that I walked my bike down, because I was afraid of the speed and lack of control I would have had.

We ended up climbing 1715 feet - most of that in the back half of the ride. 5 of the last 7 miles was uphill... and 1.75 of the last 2 miles was the mostly level/rollers ride back to my house. I decided I'd ride to and from the meet-up point today. What was I thinking???

Anyway, got home, had time for a QUICK lunch and took off for the yoga workshop, which was amazing. The first part of class was gently flow work and then a series of lunges and warrior poses. And the back half was all stretching. It was just what I needed. But lord, I didn't want to move afterwards. I'm kinda surprised I made it off the floor and out to my car.

Caught up on e-mails, then had dinner, then started/finished taxes while listening to the ACMs, which were pretty awesome this year.

Now it's midnight and the grind starts all over again tomorrow.
Night!

Way to go Audra. Busy you are! It's great you cheered on the others. emoticon I know how much I appreciated friends and others cheering me on when I've raced.
Just a lot of walking and playground activities with my little son today. He weighs around 23 pounds or so andI carry him around a lot... It's my only STRENGTH activity in this period; but hey, try carrying around a 2 year old for morethananhour and you will believe it's a strength activity too emoticon
I did get in mylong run yesterday and my pulled hamstring was pretty ok after it too, so I am greatly relieved about this!
Great going again Audra about the yoga for athletes; I wish I had done that in the past to not have problems like my hamstring now!! emoticon

Fingers crossed!

I had a wonderful day - got up early and spent a few hours cheering on friends and teammates doing the Icebreaker Triathlon this morning (.5 / 13 / 4)

I think the Club had 11 peeps out there today, including Wendy, who decided last night to race and John, who did his first one ever.

After that, I ran a few errands. Came home and had lunch, then cut my mom's hair. Spent some time with my parents and working on my house... then dinner and now catching up on a few things. Oh, and I at least got Turbo Tax loaded onto my computer! I swear I'll be sending them off on the 14th. Sigh...

Tomorrow is a bike ride in the morning and a special class at Radiant Yoga - Yoga for the Athlete... all about stretches for tight muscles - can't wait!!! Sounds like it's all the things I need help with. My hip is okay today - ran about 1/4 mile earlier - and it complained a bit. Although I haven't had any Advil since Friday morning, so that's good.

Anyway... supposed to do 20 miles tomorrow with hills... wish me luck!

Steph, 4.5 in 40! Smokin'!!!!

I swam 1.25 miles tonight - a new PR for distance... and I felt good afterwards, too. Bonus!

Getting up EARLY to cheer on friends doing the Icebreaker Triathlon tomorrow. Gonna put my cowbell to good use!

Haha!! I like that!! I am not crazy I am just DEFINING myself!! emoticon
Yesterday I ran for the first time in quite a while, gave my hands a break!! I wanted to just go 3 miles but everytime I tried to walk for a cool down I looked at the #s on the treadmill and ended up going and going til I hit 4.5 in 40 minutes :) Not bad for me, especially when I havent run in a while!! It did help the scale! Down another 0.8, 122.4. Hopefully I dont gain it all back this weekend!

I dont think i will get a workout in today, my boyfriend and I are going to the car show at the Javits Center (NYC). It ends this weekend so we are gonna head over there after work :)

Happy Weekend everyone!!

Stephanie and Audra, way to go! emoticon Though hurting your hands like you did is a bit much, but hey they say that rage is one of the defining elements of our time. You getting it out like you did sure helps resolves thosekinds of issues emoticon emoticon

I got in only a 25 min run this morning so I'll try to do a LONG one tommorrow emoticon

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hmmmm, who's worse... lawyers or auditors?

WOO HOO on putting the smackdown on your workout Stephanie!

I threw down at the gym today, too, but I wasn't hitting anything... well, except the impact wall with a 12# ball!

Already midnight... need to get to bed!

I just read some research reviews yesterday on the impact of weight and exercise on breast and colon cancer. Amazing. We're doing the right things when we address weight, and when we exercise.

Bunch of dang attorneys this afternoon--doing depositions for a patient. Not looking forward to it. I actually do have some good attorney friends, but I have to say--attorneys are a pestilence.

Lol... that so sounds like me... it was sort of a free-for-all over the weekend, knowing I was going to be "clean" on the 1st!

I think I overdid it yesterday... my right hip is ANGRY with me. I think it's inflammed or something... hoping it's okay in the morning.

Have just had NO laptop time - sorry for being MIA!

Dawna, YAY on the job! And the gym membership! Sweet perk!

Deb, a ladder is a form of intervals... in this case, I was doing rowing intervals.
100m, rest, 200m rest, 300m rest, 400m rest, 500m rest, 600m rest, 700m rest, 600m rest, 500m rest, 400m, rest, 300m rest, 200m rest, 100m, done.

Stephanie, it's so wonderful to see you pop in! Missed ya around here! Glad you've found a new love - someday I'd like to try a class at Prime Time Boxing - they have Groupon deals every so often, but I've been too busy to commit to that. Sounds like you've got a good running background and could train for the half! Why not?

Been super busy with work, home, and training... Need to get to bed... all this extra activity means I need more sleep. Imagine that. emoticon

You touched on the main issue, that of the preparation or readiness to have a certain race result. If you want a certain time or whatever you just won't be happy just running the race; I'm too competitive to do that emoticon emoticon Still just doing one's best possible is always a wonderful feeling, whatever that result (time, whatever) may be emoticon Do give one a try though, you won't be sorry if you do emoticon

Thanks Thomas, I started to look at a few workouts, it may not be so bad, not sure if I have enough time to prepare but I won't be afraid of it lol! We will see what the future holds! I may skip May, but ,maybe I will look into another one.

Hi Stefanie. Just wanted to write you about trying a half marathon. What you find is that running more than 10 miles or so typically isn't even part of many training plans for halfs. The reason is that when you are in the race you aremorefocused, you have more nervous energy and you have tapered off your training in the days before so that you have a big availability of energy that you just don't have with regular runs, so don't stress about the distance.

Hey everyone!! Just spent way too much time here at work catching up on everything you all are doin!! Sounds like everyone doing real good. I myself have never done a tri, I can be very competitive but I am also very oCD when it comes to studying and/or training!! I have to do everything just so, or i get flustered and overwhelmed! With how much I work, idk if i'd have the right time budget. I am contemplating a 1/2 marathoin. I ran into my local bartender on a weekend CKO Kickboxing class, and she mentioned it and said Ishould look in to it if I wanted to do it with her. Seems scary. i have only ever gon as far as 9 miles one time. I usually run 3-7 iles when I workout but I havent been running in a while because I fell in love with the kickboxing lol! Its an hour of beating the crap out of a 110 pound bag! Whats not to love?!?!? It incorporates planks, push ups and ab work too, really quite difficult! LOVE IT though!
ANyhoo I have rambled on enough Happy Wednesday!

~Stephanie :)

Good to hear from you Dawna. Glad the girls are doing well--or at least better!! And the job sounds great. Hope your DH feels better soon!

I am so looking forward to my daughter and her family coming to visit--I'm doing this and that, decorating with kid friendly Easter things--just having a wonderful time!

Birthday dinner tonight--and I didn't really overeat--amazing! :)

And Audra--sometime when you have lots of time--I'd love to know what a "ladder" is!!!

Hey everybody! I know I haven't been very consistent with checking in, but have been super busy finishing up school. My quarter was technically done Thursday and I had a job interview an working interview Friday. I got the call today with the job offer! And you would NOT believe where it's at.

The YMCA!!! I will be an infant teacher. I am so excited. Do you know what the best part is? I get a free membership because I work there. No excuses not to go to the gym now, eh? emoticon But I also realized that I will have to work out. My arms were sore from 1 1/2 hours of toting around babies, lol! Just imaging doing that 3 1/2 hours a day...

Leilani turned 4 on Saturday, still going to preschool and started speech therapy.

Ariana is doing okay in her classes, an improvement over the last term.

The husband is having a cold more often than not... we need to fix that. Otherwise his classes are going great.

YAY for shaking things up, Deb! Not getting bored is key - and it won't be tooooo long until you can add outdoors things to your list, too!

Tuesday ended up being a rest day for me.... it was raining, and I was beat! So early to bed - never opened up the laptop!

Today I went to the gym and got in a ladder to 700m on the rower - tough - but I made it! Then did a few more core/upper body things on the cable cross.

Need to finish my planks and get to bed! Doing a bike/run brick in the am with Amanda & John.

Wow, Audra--brave and amazing!

I was back at Jazzercise last night--after almost quitting. And I realized I get bored if I do it 4 times a week--even three, really. So--new plan is Jazzercise 1 or two days a week, Palates two, and one of our machines the other day or so--treadmill or elliptical. Won't get so bored taht way, and even might shake my metabolism up some.

It's spring-ing here! Including a big March snow predicted for this weekend--but that's part of Spring in Missouri. I am longing for a day on the lake!

Amanda invited TWO peeps to the swim tonight, and I was the ONE who showed - so I got a totally private swim lesson today. AND Amanda had just gotten her own underwater camera, so she filmed me, too, during warm-up and cool-down. And normally being filmed (that whole evaluation process) is a couple hundred dollars... Guinea Pig, SIGN ME UP!

So it was 1500 yards, 600 of that part of timed intervals, 100 of that sculling (new drill), the rest working on stroke refinement... so many little things... and when she's walking up and down the deck watching everything, she picks up all these little things for me to work on. Sometimes HARD to make the changes she's suggesting, but I know when I get them down, I'll just keep getting faster.

Deb, in the 4th grade, the teacher separated me and Patty for being too competitive. emoticon

And I thrived in my ultra competitve college setting - we pushed each other to excel, and I like that.

In sports, I've always been the fat and slow one... (except in badminton... which I was surprisingly good at.) So finding ways to use what I was able to do... technique, power, being able to endure... important.

In the race setting, for me, it's about meeting my goal pace. Being reasonable, and then working on making or beating my time goal. I was really glad that I was able to "run my race" with so many people around me. It's easy to get caught up in what other people are doing...

I'm completely missing the sorts competitive gene...probably because I never felt competent, now that I think about it, because I sure have it in academic and work endeavors! ;)

Another great day for you Audra :-) Way to go!!
It's hard for me to let myself just run and not compete whether it be against myself or others. I get in a mind set thinking that I have to have a certain time or performance, etc., rather than remembering that a race can be a great joy as well as a "waymarker" along our path to healthier living. Thanks for helping me to remember this.
Wishing a great Monday to everyone!

I went today and spent two hours ringing a cowbell and shouting encouragement to runners around the 12 mile mark of a half marathon. SOOOOOO inspiring!

One of my former coworkers turned 60 yesterday, and did this today for his celebration! He paced just over 3 hours - and 2000 people finished AFTER him.

Generations of women were running together - I know I saw some groups that looked like daughter, mother, grandmother combos.

Runners that were 70+ doing better than 19 year olds! And they looked like they were ENJOYING the experience.

It was an amazing morning. I got in an hour bike ride after that.

Trying to get caught up online some, tonight... so behind!
