I did real well for quite a while, but lately (because of some stress), I've been slacking. I'd like to loose 15 pounds, but have lost my motivation. Seems like I fall apart in the fall, when the days get shorter and the sun hides. I joke that I must have been a bear in my former life; I want to graze berries all summer and sleep all winter!

It seems CRAZY that it has been over 5 years already!?

I lost nearly 80 pounds in the first 16 months then hit that blasted plateau WALL... it simply wouldn't budge! I stayed at it for 2 years or so... then slowly started to lose my resolve. Last year I stopped tracking and measuring every single thing and while I did keep exercising 4 times per week - I was maintaining and not losing. Then I found myself not weighing in - or checking in here - and I slowly (but not surprisingly) regained close to 20 pounds!

Whew - that was a wake up call and even if I only get off the 20 I regained - I will be happy! It's tough to have faith that it will work, because I was following all the 'rules' for nearly 3 years with no loss at all - but I am back to checking in and tracking... and will weigh in once a week again and expect to see some positive changes!

It's so encouraging to see so many of you still active here - and meeting your goal weight too!

Hello!

I've been using Spark on and off. I basically use it every time I've tip the scales close to, at, or just over 150 pounds. This last time was early March and I've been on just about daily since (if I miss a day I'll go back and fill in everything I've eaten). I've lost 10 of the 20 pounds I've gained and hope to lose the remaining 10 by the beginning of summer. This time I'm resolving to STOP gaining and losing the same darn 20 pounds!

I'd love to stay between 130-133, but I'm thinking I'll settle for 135-138 since it's easier to maintain for me. I'm still going to try and see how I feel when I get to 130 and reflect on why I stop and gain 20 pounds. That will be an interesting internal conversation.

If I make 10 minutes of SparkPeople a daily routine then I'm keeping myself accountable and I'll most likely keep the weight off. So, I'm going to keep Sparking!

I'm done having babies, so now my focus is on getting my body in shape!

Hello everyone, I can't believe it's been 5 years since I started SparkPeople. I also have been up & down with my weight. I am going to make a commitment to do this for the entire month of February. I will log in all my food. :)

DAPHNE137 - I had to look again, you are with Sparkguy in your profile photo. How did that happen? You got under 199, that's quite an accomplishment!

INCONTROL247 - great that you caught yourself and can get back on track!

I have been active on sparkpeople off and on. I got back into sparking last May and I was doing really good with it until September. Even though I stopped trying to lose weight back in September I had managed to keep off the weight I'd lost. My weight fluctuated by about +/-2 pounds. However, after weigh in this morning I see I've gained about 4 pounds since the beginning of the year. I need to get back into working out. I haven't been to the gym since before Christmas. I also once again need to limit the amount of soda I drink and get back into drinking more water. I have a 21 day challenge as part of one of my classes this semester and I plan on using that challenge to work on fitting in more exercise. I'm confident that once I get back into a routine I'll once again be able to shed those pounds. Hopefully I'll have the weight off by summer and can work on maintaining.

Spark has become a habit to me but I have to get more serious about weight loss this year. My best weight loss was in the first year and since then I teeter back and forth losing the same 5 pounds over and over.

The 5% Challenges keep me going. The next one will be my 14th.
