Well I have mainly used Spark for the nutrition tracker and support when I was going through thyroid cancer. I cannot use the exercise tracker because it does not allow me to input the exercise that I actually do....a little cardio AND strength the day. I have lost a lot of weight, regained it, and lost it again. While this site is very helpful and informational, I have found that a real live person to be accountable to is what works for me. I go to a licensed and registered dietician, and I jokingly canner he my life coach and therapist all rolled into one...I confess my vanilla vodka over ice cream...LOL
I recommend SparkPeople to people all the time..it is free and quite useful. Most of the community is nice, and here is a hint, if someone gets hateful or nasty to you, as happens so much on the internet, report them immediately to Spark, the moderators actually take care of stuff like that.
My ticker does not reflect my actual starting weight, which was 206, and I have no thyroid, had a hysterctomy, and am 5'3", am not athletic in any way...it is possible ladies and gentlemen, to control our weight...not easy at all...this is a full time job.

I still come on to read the message boards, look for recipes and to use the spark videos. I no longer use SP for tracking though I found another program that I prefer for tracking, but do not love the community, hence why I use spark and another program. I will always come to spark for the motivation and sense of community, sparkers just truly are a caring group of people.
Hi Everyone! I am still Sparking, just not as much lately. The only reason I'm not so much is "life" a little busy for me lately. Spark has made a big different in my life style. I have more energy, eating healthier and have lost inches and weight in the last year. Everyone has noticed how healthier and thinner I am. It does feel good when friends and family are telling you look great, what have you been doing. I also enjoy going shopping again for clothes that fit my body and not clothes that wear me. Yes I still have a few more pounds to lose and tone up more, but I feel great!! Life is good!! This was the first team I signed up with and gave me my start, and now I am a team leader of two teams!
Sparking again. I tried sparkpeople 4 years ago and enjoyed it. I really don't remember exactly why I stopped. I know I didn't take advantage of all the resources on here, but this time WILL be different.
Spark ON for sure. There has been an interesting change over the last 4 years though. I probably use Sparkpeople more now than ever, and I love it, but... I very rarely log on to the website anymore, so i miss the interaction. The iPhone and Android app has allowed me to log my food and exercise as soon as I do it, but it has no way to interact with other Sparkers.

Blogging works for me, and the marathon team works for me. I hate the food tracker b/c I feel punished for eating so clean. It is a quick and easy solution for people who eat fast food or pre-packaged stuff, but my dinner last night of stir-fried chard, mung beans, shi-take mushrooms, and other fresh veggies would have taken ages to track. So I don't. If I had a microwaved burrito, though, then that would have been easy.
I like exercise tracking as well.
I used to read loads of articles, but now I don't. I'm in maintenance mode, though, and once I got there, I decided to curtail a lot of my SP activities and spend more time offline. It works for me, and I keep accountable thru blogging and checking in with my marathon team.
You can cut and paste this to the thread if you like. I just don't have time to find it right now.

Spark on...i don't interact as much as i did when i started 4 years ago...but who...who would have tunk i'd be running....and getting ready for my 4th Half Marathon at the end of the month...when 4 years ago it started with walking and giving my best at a 10k....it's not pretty..but i'm doing it...crossing the finish line...and i know i need tons of water, i feel better when i eat more veggies, and i've even be okay with not eating much red meat and more organic things...wow to progress, suggestions and support. yeah SP!

Definitely Spark On! I think I will be a Sparker for life. I have learned so much through the articles, received motivation from the blogs of those who have come SO far and overcome so many obstacles along the way, as well as support from teammates. Maybe most importantly, it provides a place for me to be accountable. And I have learned that it's all about a healthy lifestyle - NOT a quickfix diet. Thanks to Sparkguy for giving us all this -- free of charge. He could be getting very rich off of us if he chose to. I'm very thankful for this site!

I love all the tools, all the info, and my Done Girl team. All of the daily activities related to leading that team has kept me coming back even during the worst of times (death, divorce, moving - all in 2011).
I love having this team to check on every once in awhile. I like connecting with people that have been here as long as I have.

Still Sparking and spreading the Spark where ever I go! I think that what works for me is that this site has everything you could ever need to lose the weight, get fit and feel good about yourself. We have it pretty good here! I told a coworker about Spark last month and she didn't really look into it. After spending hundreds of dollars on a book and access to another health website but not having many of the cool things we have here she asked me to tell her more about Spark and joined! Woo hoo!

What works for me is the comraderie, having a place to tell it like it is, and receive support. Also, tracking my food intake has been a huge help to me. There are times I want to throw in the towel, but I think of my teammates and it brings me back.
