TFG...this is not my "first rodeo" so I know what my body is able to do. I didn't make my 3 more pound goal this week but I did lose one more and it's ok. it was a goal...not a life or death situation..LOL.

Thanks for your input.

Maya: It just make me mad that I am having to do it again but at least i'm getting back on the wagon, huh? Thank you for stopping by.

You can do ANYTHING you set your mind to, Deb - you've proven that over and over again, so have at it!

Congratulations on the great loss this week!

Keep going, keep going!

Cheers,

While I'm all for being supportive, that might not be a realistic goal.

The first part of a diet is very deceiving in that you will lose more at the beginning than you will later. For me, the first 20 pounds comes off without hardly any effort....and quickly.

After that, a healthy and normal amount of weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week for a man and .5-1 pound a week for the ladies.

Having goals any higher is just setting yourself up for a failure. And that can be a diet killer.

"Oh...I goaled myself with 3 pounds lost this week but only lost 1 pound. I must be doing something wrong." ...which leads to giving up.

I'm really excited for you that you've lost so much already....but I don't want to see you (or anyone) derailed because of unrealistic expectations.

It took me years to learn the secret of weight loss. Now I'm going to convey it to you...ready?......

BURN MORE CALORIES THAN YOU CONSUME

The rest is just noise...

I stopped by the nurse station this morning and weighed myself for kicks. Wasn't going to do it until next Friday but so glad I did. I've lost 3 pounds since last Thursday. I actually think I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Now I'm praying it's not a train coming right at me... emoticon

The mornings are still my hardest but after I've had my Armour, BP pill and then my breakfast an hour later, I start to feel better. Then I take my One A Day Weight Smart Vitamin w/Green Tea and my world gets even better. The Green Tea really helps give me a physical and mental boost! If I don't get right up out of bed though, I can lay there and make all kind of excuses for why I shouldn't. So, I've decided I'm not listening anymore to that voice.

My goal is to lose 3 more pounds by next Friday. I think I can do it with even more exercise and activity, lots of water and staying within my calorie range.

I think I can, I think I can.....
