Awww. Thank you, everyone! It feels great to be here. On this side of that scary 200# mark. I'll be working hard to stay on this side.

Thanks again for all the encouragement! Please know that reading all your stories really helped get my brain to cooperate! Thank YOU! :)

Cheers,

I'm very happy for you, Maya. I know how great you must feel.

My journey to achieving my goals is taking a circuitous route, too, as you are aware. So, I know how exciting it is to round a corner in the maze and see one of those "you are here" dots on the map, with arrows showing the way to the exit.

I weigh 178, 18 lbs more than when I joined SP last January. I've learned a great deal and gained many supportive friends during this year. I am confident that you and I can be among the 5% who are able maintain a healthy weight one day. We've both made progress in that direction this year.

You sure do deserve it. My scale has not moved in the last 2 weeks but I hope when I step on it on Friday it will move a little.

Down to 198 today.

It's taken me over a year to hit my "first goal" of 199 ... which was only 9 pounds from my starting weight of 208 when I joined SP.

A fun year, in some ways, but frustrating, too, just from looking at the scales and wondering just "HOW MUCH LONGER" it would take to finally be out of the 2##s.

Well, I can tell you, no matter how many times I went up (and I DID go up - I was at 212 and 215 a couple of times there!), it was staying focused, being aware of the choices I was making, and aware of how those choices were affecting the weight gain-and-loss dance that finally helped me get here.

And, of course, MrsHoneyC's challenge to me last week to stay off the dashed scales for a week until my next BLC weigh-in today. That was a scary week, I tell you. I kept worrying for the first 48 hours. Then it sorta became a back-of-my-mind worry. And this morning I was convinced I would have gained, even though my mirror tells me my waist is visibly smaller when I suck it in ... so it was a pleasant surprise.

I'm sure I startled a coupla folks at the gym when they came in ... I was just standing on those manual scales, totally slack-jawed. Staring in disbelief at the number. Climbing off. Climbing back on. Still staring, just staring. :)

WHEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Could I have hit 198 sooner? Sure. Would I have appreciated it as much if it had shown up in the aftermath of a few weeks of starvation? Probably not - I'd have been out celebrating with some juicy fried chicken. :)

I AM going to celebrate. Just not with dessert or that fried chicken. I don't know what yet. I hadn't actually thought up a rewards system. Dang.

I'm off to think. I don't want it to be something ephemeral like food (you eat it, it's gone). I want something that feels like a real reward. Probably a book. :)

I'm off to do a little happy dancing now. Maybe with my faithful little hula hoop and a YouTube video! :)

Cheers,
Maya
