We have a lot of patients that do the same thing, then after it happening a few times, the lightbulb kicks on! Then they come in once a month, and feel a lot better for it! LOL

As a chiropractic assistant (and a patient), I can't stress enough that is extremely important to get a maintenance adjustment once a month. Think of it like this...would you rather go once a month, or end up going every day for 2 weeks, because you have a migraine that won't quit?
OK, off my soapbox now!

Hubby and I just bought a Jack LaLane juicer and should be receiving it this week sometime. I'm hoping that will help us get more of those good minerals, vitamins, etc. I know that eating the raw food is best 'cause you get the fiber, etc. and we will continue to do that but we are both big juice drinkers and can't find a good juice that doesn't contain sugar and a bunch of crap that we don't really need. (Wow, that was a long sentence...haha.)

Thanks for the link Anna...I'll check it out.

I just googled for the foods high in Potassium and found this link.
I wrote down some of the foods to try to get more potassium.
Apricots dried, carrot juice, prune juice, and avacodas were some of the highest on the list.

I am finding that I don't get enough potassium. I eat bananas. potatoes, yogurt but I guess that is not enough. I need to find the highest food with potassium so I don't have to eat more volume of food just better.

I didn't have my water alotment yesterday but I'm back on it today. I think I average at least 100 oz a day. I take liquid minerals every evening and potassium is one of them. Along with being a chiropracter, our doctor is a naturpathic and he has us on a regimen of liquid minerals which include Potassium and other minerals to help "Pull" inflammation from your body. He has me doubling up on some of them to help with the inflammation.

He wants me to take it easy today but tomorrow he said I can get back to the treadmill and do some light exercises. He's very much for "working thru" issues and not simply laying around. Thank goodness 'cause I've had about enough of this already.

Funny you should mention bananas 'cause I got some yesterday and I had one last night and this morning. Along with my afternoon apple, those are my fruits for the day.

Thanks for the suggestions.

So Deb, here's where I *HAVE* to ask you ...
how much water are you drinking?

And, how much potassium are you getting in? You can find potassium in orange juice, potatoes, bananas, avocados, tomatoes, broccoli, soybeans, brown rice, garlic and apricots, although it is also common in most fruits, vegetables and meats.
Potassium help to regulate body fluids and mineral balance in and out of body cells. It is involved in maintaining blood pressure, transmitting nerve impulses, and helping muscles and heart to contract.

And, of course, chiropractic adjustments feel SO GOOD! I haven't had an adjustment since 2004 when I was rear-ended in a car accident.

* Have you had your water today???*

That's what the chiropracter tells me...."Debbie, I need to see you once a month...not just when the pain gets bad!" That's my new years resolution...have monthly visits with him. Thanks for the encouraging words.

Hey, Congratulations on coming in first in the Challenge. That's great commitment. Good for you.

Deb, don't get discouraged! Just keep eating the right way and you won't gain. I have had neck problems for years. I was in an automobile accident and had whiplash. My neckbone has been deteriorating ever since. I find that if I go to the chiropractor every month and get "tuned up" whether I feel like I need it or not, I don't have too many problems.
Hope this helps! I will pray also.
PS. I am eating your soup!LOL

I am so sorry Deb - I pray that your neck will soon be fine and you can get back to exercising.

Man, it amazes me how life can be going along so smoothly and then WHACK...you get hit by a MACK truck.

I've been dealing with neck pain off and on for the past 2 years or so. When it get bads enough, I go to the chiropracter and get adjusted and then I'm good for another few months. I've sit at a desk and in front of a computer for almost 21 years as my daily job so I'm sure that doesn't help. Everything at my desk is ergonomically correct but you spend that much time at a computer and I don't care if you sitting on a fur lined gold encrusted pillow, things are going to happen. Anyway, beginning last week I started having terrible headaches. The kind that I hear people describe as miagraines. I'm not much of a headache person or hardly ever get sick so this was like serious for me. I went to the chiropracter and he said "yep, same old stuff but even worse this time." My work requires a trip to the plant doctor who wanted to give me pain killers, muscle relaxers and an catscan to check for tumors and aneursyms. Well, I nixed all of that simply because if I had one of those things the headache wouldn't go away after an adjustment. Anyway, to wrap this up....I'm off work all week (decided to use one of my week's of vacation) and am working with the chiropracter daily. The headaches are gone but now I just have alot of tightness, soreness and I'm afraid to move much in fear of something going out again...haha.

I've gained two pounds back and I'm pretty discouraged. I was exercising so good and starting to see some progress. I know this is a speed bump in the long road but dang gone it anyway. emoticon Patience is not one of my virtues.....
