I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "chance the routine." I think walking to and from is a great idea. We have people at mine who run 4 miles, come work out, and then do Zumba, all back to back, so if you're concerned about being able to walk to and from and do the work out, I wouldn't be. Of course, it all depends on your level of fitness. The people who do that have been members for years, so they are strong. Hope this answers your question!

Going consecutive days is fine. If you have Curves Smart, it will automatically knock you down to 80%. Just make sure you are keeping the green solid, not flashing. If you don't have CS, just take it easy on consecutive days.

If you're on a plateau, it may be that you aren't eating enough. The Curves Complete plan actually suggests increasing your calories when you are on a plateau. You should be on a 1500 calorie diet when exercising to lose weight. To get over a plateau, increase your calorie intake to 2000, weigh every day, and when you notice your weight has gone up, no more than 3 pounds, go back to a 1500 calorie diet. This will increase your metabolism, and you should get that weight back off in just a few days. You may not gain at all, and if you don't, just do that increased calorie intake for a week. Decreasing your calories actually hurts your metabolism, and your body will try even harder to hold on to your weight. Just make sure those calories are coming from healthy foods!

Curves Complete would be more like the new SparkCoach, I think. I don't know a lot about SparkCoach, but I'm pretty sure it gives you daily tasks/workouts and one-on-one coaching with a Spark Coach. I also don't know how much it costs. Basically, either of these are for people who need the extra motivation, support, and coaching to make change happen. They do more to teach you how to make that change and create lasting, healthy habits, in a more structured way.

Now, I just got home from my workout, and like you ladies, I need a shower!

yes i am happy with consistent 1 lb per week (although it has only been 2 weeks, it is better than i have ever done losing the healthy way). i'm not knocking the curves complete but isn't that what you're able to do with sparkpeople for free? i'm going to do baby steps...start with the working out and get into the habit of that. then once i plateau from that i'll focus on the eating i think. i'm not sure when the curves complete will be available where i'm at but i might try it for the 3 months. it can't hurt! i have to say i absolutely love the workout part. my friend told me she didn't think it was a challenge. well, i leave curves with sweat pouring off of me - more so than when i leave the regular gym!

It's recipes. You take a short survey in the beginning so it can know what you like, then it creates a menu for you each week. You do the grocery shopping so you learn what to buy. That way, even when you are done with the 90-days, you have created habits that are easy to continue. At first glance at the menu, people think the food is going to cost more, but it really doesn't. It might the first couple of weeks because you are completely reconfiguring your kitchen pantry, but then it evens out. I actually spend less each week than I used to because I know what I have to get, I don't buy too much, and I use everything I buy! I thought the program sounded expensive at first, but then I heard of a similar program at another women's-only gym in my area, and they were $200 a month! They didn't even have unlimited access! Yikes!

oh my, that IS expensive! much more than i thought it would be. is it recipes or pre-packaged foods or what? i can see how it would be worth it if you're having such success though! i'm doing good with my exercise - cardio for 30 minutes in the morning 4 days a week plus curves for 30 minutes in the evening, 5 days a week. i've been losing 1 lb a week with no dieting whatsoever, but i'm sure that's because i'm going from zero activity to what i do now. eventually i will have to start eating right. that is always my downfall :(

It's a 90-day program. It's $299 for new members (this covers the cost of the club, online component, and weekly coaching sessions - no extra monthly fee). It's $199 for current members, plus the monthly fee they have been paying. Most clubs will split that payment into 3 if needed. It's a great program! I lost 10.5 inches in the first month! I struggle with losing in my hips and thighs, but lost in every single part! The food is fabulous, and I highly recommend it!

edysdoll - I started the program yesterday. I would love an accountability partner, too, if you're still looking for one! That's actually what I was looking on these forums for. How are you doing/what do you think so far?

hi..i dont know if this is the right place to post all i have to say lol since its a jumble...i went to curves for about a year a few years ago until it closed down.. a new one just opened and i rejoined it..they havent hooked up the curves smart yet so im just going around the circle trying to increase my moves...we also have the curves complete which i didnt sign up for as it was too expensive for me right now..but i do have the old curves weight management program book that i follow off and on..a question here would be...how long before u start seeing results from these machines??

also would the old curves diet be just as effective as the new one? thanks there were several curves teams and i picked this one since it had the most ppl and hopefully the most active!

Hey! I started Curves Complete 6 weeks ago. For me, I just needed the extra motivation. I enjoy going to curves, but wasn't losing any weight because the eating was out of control.

I have loved SP and still do- but it's up to "me" to login and do the work. I believe that if you are personally motivated you can do it jusdt through SP but for me... it doesn't work that way.

I didn't want to lose what I had at the gym- how I felt, how I love the people there, how it fits into my routine- SO joining curves complete has the people that I trust and enjoy- holding me accountable.

I have lost 15lbs on the program so far. I have had some not so good weeks but I definitely am eating better than before! After six weeks on CC I have decided to rejoin SP so that I can really do the work myself too- so when I'm OFF CC I can continue with what I'm doing.

Good luck to everyone!!

This program is worth the money. Curves has become the only weight loss center that provides the three main keys to weight loss 1) diet 2) motivation and 3)exercise. not only do you get the exercise but now you get the motivation along with a eating plan which is interactive online along with daily motivational tips.

In order for a Curves location to offer it, the employees that coach must go through an extensive training. That is why some clubs still aren't offering it. The owner of my Curves showed me the program, and from what I see the biggest difference of them & spark is the price. With the Curves program comes some face to face coaching, but they are supposed to coach you if you're just a member for fitness goals. When I did the Curves weight management program three years ago, the classes were offered free, and I miss that. I believe a lot of women are missing out due to finances involved with the "new, improved" computer program. I do know that many discount book stores offer the old Curves books for sale though, so there's that option. Best of luck to all of you doing the Curves Complete. As for me, I am following their concept, and tracking my progress on here for free.

I'm going to be starting Curves Complete January 1. (Our club isn't currently offering it but will be promoting it starting this upcoming January) I was wondering how those of you on it for a few months are doing. Has it helped improve your success? What do you like? Is there anything you wish were different?

Hi Lisa,
I am not sure about why some centers have it and some don't. It is a newer program, so it may just be a matter of time for your center. Our manager had to take 'coach' training, so she is like my personal cheerleader ;)
The difference of Curves complete and Sparks is the specific diet plan with Curves complete. You get a menu based on assessment questions with ability to modify it here and there; you also get to select food options or make up your own; their are vitamin supplements and the shake that are recommended as part of the program and the specifics with the exercise (walk at least 5000 steps per day and work out 4 times per week at Curves). There is also a daily coaching video that needs to be watched.
Spark is still awesome and I will continue to Spark and gain all the support I can here also. I need both. ;)

Hi there 'ACURVLADY',
Thanks for the support!
Yes, I got my pedometer... 2154 steps so far today. This is such an eye opener for me to realize how much walking I actually do in a day. And yes, I made the committment to going into Curves 4x a week~ looking forward to CC with Zumba tonight ;)

It's a great program, and the ease of the food is the best part. Good luck !!! Did you get your pedometer ? They start you off with 5000 steps and then increase you to 10,000 it's important to get your 4 days at curves and then also the 5000 steps. You can do it!

Hello all,
My name is Jeannine and I am starting the Curves Complete program today.
This incorporates a diet plan for 90 days with exercise and behavior modification through daily videos and a weekly coaching session from a Curves Coach.
I need all the help I can get to stay on this program. I am cautiously excited to get started. I do well at first and then fall off track after about 2-4 weeks on other programs. I am happy that this has a daily plan for me to follow and a daily coaching video and that someone will actually be coaching me on my program on a daily/ weekly basis. I need someone to push me along and to remind me that what I am feeling is normal and that I can be successful and get this weight off and keep it off for good.
Looking forward to getting to know some of you through this online community!!
Peace,
Jeannine
