It seems that this hasn't been updated in awhile... As a nursing student, I definitely understand how difficult it can be to add one more thing to your To Do List!

I am 39 years old and 2.5 weeks (!!!!) from graduation from a two year college with my Nursing degree. I originally planned to begin a four year in the fall to complete my BSN, but as I'm currently on the waitlist, we will see how that goes. Between then and now, I have plenty to do, such as graduate (!!!), finish up the last of my assignments (ugh), take my N-CLEX (double-ugh), and find a job that isn't in retail.

I've been heavily involved on campus since my first day in nursing school (I was going to say since my journey began, but yanno 'bout those extra years of prereqs to even get IN to nursing school), and had actually LOST weight after my first year, but piled it back on (and then some) in my second. So here I am!

Hey all! I''m De - I am almost 36 - I have been a SAHM for thirteen and half years- I have been in the EMS world for 5 and an EMT for three. I am all set to start my nursing school adventure this winter.
I have been struggling with weight since my son was born - you guessed it 13 years ago... Never had a problem before, but something about having kids (each one has packed on more pounds)- I dunno. I have 63 pounds to reach a healthy weight for me.
I am finding it hard to do CPR, my endurance sucks... My bum is tightly wedged when I have to care for a patient in the back of the rig... Its embarrassing.
Anyway- that's me- that's why I am here-- not to just fit in to the ambulance- but to get healthy for kids ages 13, 10 and 2.
I get my motivation by talking the talk with others - hope this is an active place! lol

We have never been called to be more than who we are..... Be yourself

Hi I'm Allie. I'm in school to be an animal nurse (vet tech). I thought since there was no category for that you guys would accept me. lol. I'm 21 and go to school 5 days a week with about 3 hours of studyng every night so it is hard to find time to be active sometimes. I love animals and being a nurse to them is a dream come true for me, We pretty much to everything an RN does but on animals! Hope to find good supportive friends on here! emoticon

Hello! My name is Laura and I'm 25 years old. I'm finishing up some pre-nursing classes this fall and starting my core classes in January. I have a B.S. in an unrelated field which is why I am returning to school. I started at 245 and am currently at 222. My goal end goal is 150, but I'm shooting for 180 by my 26th birthday in May.

Hi Everyone;
My name is Robin. I am a 42 year-old wife and mother of 3. I am also in the process of finishing up pre-reqs and hope to begin Nursing school in January. I will apply in the fall. I have been a full-time college student for the last two semesters and only part-time this summer semester. When I started school last fall, I had lost weight and felt great. Then once I dived into school, I had a hard time balancing school and family, so eating healthy and exercising were not even in the picture.

I am hoping that this group will help me find ways to keep everything in balance and to start off nursing school healthier and prepared for the challenge.

Hello! I am currently in my second year of nursing (RN). I definitely am enjoying the program so far but am not going to lie... It can be a bit of a love/hate relationship sometimes )So much studying)! Unlike most male nursing students, I have no interest in ICU or emergency; my current interest is in paediatrics. I think I might also rather do community as opposed to hospital-based nursing. I am here because I'd really like to "practice what I (will be) preaching"! I think you need to be able to take good care of your own health before you can take care of the health of others. Nice to meet everyone and good luck on reaching your goals! :)

New to SparkPeople and this team! :) Super glad I found this team because I'm hoping to gain support through nursing school and my weight loss journey. I've worked in the medical field since high school and it is definitely my passion, but I obviously don't look like I belong. Currently, I'm a Certified Medical Assistant (don't bash on us haha) and getting ready to continue my education and head into nursing school! My specialty is Peds. It's hard working in Peds or any other specialty and trying to explain to your patients how important it is to lose weight, eat healthier, or spend a little time exercising; when clearly you can't even do it yourself. For the ones who have been on SparkPeople for awhile or are nearing their end of nursing school; advice would be greatly appreciated! :) I look forward to visiting this forum throughout my journey!

Hello. Hope there's more activity here... I guess we're all pretty busy with our programs. I'm 47 and back in college for nursing. I'm currently spending a little too much time on Spark, but I just started it less than a month ago and still needing the motivation. Looking to drop 15-20 pounds total.

Hi guys! I am so excited to see other nursing students on this page! I have seen so many nurses that don't at all lead in their field by example, and I don't want to be that way. I am almost for the first time in a long time within a healthy BMI and am SO excited about it! My goal is to lose 18 more pounds and run a half marathon in mid-April. I'm interested to see how it goes!

Hi everyone! My name is Kat and I just got into a Vocational Nursing program. I start next Monday, and I am super excited!!! This year I don't want to just finish school and get it over with, but I'm looking into losing 80+ pounds. I have a lot of goals set for myself and I know if I can stick to it, I can do it. There's no looking back. I have a total of 135 pounds to lose, sounds a bit overwhelming but I know I can fight this! Thanks for letting me share.

There is no one giant step that does it. It's a lot of little steps. -Peter A. Cohen

Hi everyone! My name is Lisa and I just finished my first semester of nursing school... It was extremely stressful and I gained 10 pounds during the semester. I had previously lost 40 lbs, and now have gained 20 of it back between moving and school. I hope to make this next semester better and drop those pounds I gained back!

The previous graduates and current students have given us new comers advice on what to expect, which is be prepared to live and eat nursing. Hi all. My name is Krys, I'm 28, and I've been on spark people before, but I'm just getting back in to it. I'm nearing the end of nursing school! We have finals for this term coming up in 2 weeks, then I've only got 2 left. I can't wait. I've really started trying to focus on my health recently as the stress in/from school is mounting. I'm hoping that focusing on my health will decrease the anxiety that school is causing. Anyway, I'm finally really heading in the right direction I think! Good luck to everyone!!

Hi new members! Welcome to SparkPeople! This group doesn't seem to be very active... I joined it recently, and have pretty much only seen posts from other new people. I've been using SparkPeople for awhile now, so if any of you have questions or need support trying to stay healthy while going through nursing school, you can send me a private message. Good luck!

Hello everyone am so excited to find this group I'm a 21 year old Nursing student. I'm a senior and pretty soon I'll be graduating and getting married in the next couple of years. I used to weight 115 pounds but over the course of collage I have manged to gain a ton of weight. Last night when I weighed myself I was 195.5. and I am only 5'2" What I think is the worst is because I am a nursing student I know what I am supposed to do I just don't have the motivation that's why I turned to this website.Ironically I use nursing school as an excuse all the time to not have the time to be healthy. In May of 2013 I will be traveling abroad to Ireland for two weeks and Greece for 35 days. I'll be studying there and we will be island hopping and spending a lot of time on the beach. This is another reason I want to lose the weight. Also at the rate that I'm gaining weight I will be morbidly obese in no time. My BMI is way to high I want to get it down to a health number. My goal is to lose 2 pounds a week for 33 weeks. This will take me out of the obese BMI then through the overweight BMI and down to the a normal BMI of 23.8 from a BMI of 35. On may 4th 2013 there is a marathon in Indianapolis and I want to run in it. Anyone want to join me there? I have been asking some other nursing students and I feel like I can't let them down. :) Also I have no idea hot to upload photos of my self or create a profile so if anyone knows how I'd appricate some help. Thanks :) I'm so excited that I found this group!

“Don’t wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. Hi all. I'm just started my second semester of my ADN. I managed to lose a little bit of weight the first semester, but it was definitely a challenge because around exam time I crave junk food like crazy.

Hoping I can lose some more weight this semester, as well as find time to exercise at least 3 times a week.

Hi everyone! I am 23 and a mother of a 4 year old. I just married my son's father on May 19th!. I am currently enrolled in nursing school for my BSN-RN and will be graduating in May of 2013! I also work PRN as a nurse tech which is similar to a CNA but usually only for nursing students who have completed a certain amount of clinical hours. If you get an opportunely to do this then I would jump on it. It looks really good when you graduate if you have had some experience in the hospital. Good luck everyone!

Hi I'm Dorothy! I am working on my ADN-RN degree. I start the nursing program in a month. I am on here to lose weight and maintain a healthy life style. This summer I've lost 12 pounds, and have mainly been focusing on healthy eating habits, such as packing healthy lunches for work, and keeping good foods on hand at home.

I'm delaney, 19, 1 year of college down, 2 years until my RN, 3 more until I receive my bachelor's. i start nursing school in one month and 3 days! i'm not really trying to lose weight i'm 5'2" and 115 pounds. i'm just trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle, but tone up and gain muscle mass! i have tendencies to eat quick and easy fast food or frozen dinners like lean cuisine. i know lean cuisine is rumored to be good for you....but i would rather eat food that doesn't come out of a box quick and easy like that :/ trying to cook more, bring my meals with me from home, and exercise!

My name is Laura and I just finished my first semester of nursing school at ACC. I have five kids ages 2, 8, 10, 12, 14. I also work full time as a CNA. My husband is also attending school, trying to get into dental school. Needless to say I am very busy, stressed, and just don't have a whole lot of free time. The past couple of months I just didn't feel healthy. My goals are to eat healthy, fit in at least 30 min of exercise 4x a week, and have some sort of meditation/relaxation time for myself everyday. I know if I can do these things, I will not only feel better, but I will be a better student, mother, and spouse because of it.

Hi! My name is Jenny and I just decided to go back to Nursing School (ADN). I have my pre-nursing certificate but have to re-take my A&P's before I can be added to the wait list. Ugh! I am very excited to be back in nursing school after changing my mind. I work as a massage therapist and decided I wanted to do biology. I did not enjoy it and studying was a chore (I loved studying for nursing related classes because it was interesting to me). So I was miserable and stressed and ate both feelings away.
I have decided that it is time to lose the 20-30 pounds i gained over the past year. No excuse for it! Please feel free to add me. I used to be on SP under a different name, but wanted a clean start this time.

HI! I'm Hayley and in my thrid semester of my BSN program at NSU! During the semesters prior to my acceptance, food was my best friend. This trend has continued into nursing school wiht me and now I can't fit anything in my closet. Between school, work, and planning a wedding I find little time to sit down and enjoy food which is why fast food is always a simple choice. My mom tipped me off to the site and I am excited to take time for myself and try to regain my highschool figure. Never would I have thought that I would get a freshman 50 instead of 15! I am very excited to find a group of individuals going through the same thing that I am. I know we will all readch our goals of a healthy lifestyle and a successful nursing career!!

Hi, My name is Patricia I'm in my second semester of nursing school (RN). I graduate in May 2013! I'm a wife and mother of two boys (age 1 and 2). I have been trying to lose weight for a long time and now that my life is overwhelming, it's even harder. Nursing school makes you tired, and physically drained. My goal is to lose 70-80 pounds, hopefully by my graduation. I'm excited that I found this group and is looking forward reaching my goal

Hi!
I'm Kara! I am starting nursing school this fall at the University of Minnesota. I am nervous about balancing more stressful school work and healthy living, seeing as it is already difficult sometimes to find time for exercise. My sister is getting married this summer (I am her maid of honor) and I want to be healthy and confident when I stand up there with her and be able to think about how happy I am for her not how self conscious I feel. My goal is to lose about 35 pounds, one step at a time.

I'm halfway through a technical school LPN program! "Brain food" during study time has added to my weight problem! I'm hopeful that SP will help me get on track :)

I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

Hi everyone! I am a senior in the nursing program at UCF and will be graduating with my BSN in May! I can't wait to finally be done! But, as many of you know, nursing school isn't exactly friendly to those of us who want to lose or maintain our weight. I hope to lose these unwanted pounds and to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Good luck to everyone!

Hi everyone! I'm a freshman in my 2nd semester of the Nursing Program at my local University. Last semester was surprisingly easy but this semester is something else. I'm really motivated though but still a little overwhelmed. I work as a CNA at a nursing home for extremely disabled citizens. I'm really excited about this group! Hope everything is going well for everyone else!

Hi everyone! My name is Stephanie and I actually just recently graduated from a technical college here in Wichita as an LPN. Well I guess a PN, since I still have to take NCLEX and get licensed. It's a nerve wracking process! Just have plenty of patience and pretty much fake it till you make it! The didactic portion in school is interesting but until you actually get your hands on patients and out in the field it won't really click.

W/my schedule it was pretty hectic. I worked 7-12, and then gym 1230-130, shower, and then study from 3-445 before class from 5-1030. My program was a night program so it was 1 1/2. It's all worth it though once it's done and over! Now I just have to get licensed and then move onto RN!

Hey all!

I am in my 4th (and final year) of the BScN program at the University of Ottawa. I'm super excited to have other people to talk to about school and the challenges of fitting a healthy lifestyle into it.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone. emoticon

Hi, I'm a second-semester ADN student who totally neglected her workouts during first semester. I'm trying to get back on track before this semester gets too out of hand...

Bright, I feel your pain; I have a BA in French. It's not doing me an awful lot of good now. :-)

Happy New Year, everyone!

Hi, call me Bright. I'm in my second year at a diploma program with one semester and our preceptorship left before taking the NCLEX. Ack! I already have a BA in English, which is SO TOTALLY USEFUL, but I'm really excited to embark on the world as a medical professional. But before I do that, I'd really like to learn a more healthy lifestyle with exercise and proper nutrition and lose the 30 lbs I packed on in the past few years if I plan on working 12-hour shifts in the future!

So hit me up. I'm a general nerd, love sci-fi, spenda little too much time on the internet and live in a very small, very boring town.

Hi my name is Holly and I am going to be a second semester student! I didn't do anything during my first semester, as in going to the gym or trying to eat healthy, so I am hoping that with the next few weeks left on break I can get it jumpstarted and continue through the semester! I am looking forward to posting on here and hearing from all of you. We can all help one another on this journey through nursing school and weight loss :)

Hi! I'm Kimberly and I am finally in the nursing program at American River College in Sacramento, CA! It took 3.5 years to get in with the lottery system. I start on Jan. 17, 2012. I'm 41 years old, married, and have 2 teenage daughters. I work 30 hours a week now, but I gave my notice. I'm excited and scared all at the same time! Right now, I'm getting all my ducks in a row; I have a physical, blood tests, immunizations and CPR to take care of. I lost 25 lbs on SP so far and still want to shed 20 more. The last thing I want is to gain weight while in the nursing program. Feel free to friend me!

Hello I'm lindsay and I'm also starting nursing school in January! I work as a CNA/PCA now in Women & Infant Services. I'm learning phlebotomy this week through my employer so I can be even more helpful in the OB Triage and L&D side of things. Currently, I mostly work in Post/Ante Partum. I never thought I'd want to work with moms and babies, but it is so much more than controlling pain. There's so much education and excitement there. I'm working to lose the weight I've gained being on day shift (17 pounds!) and then get to my original goal of 150 to boot!

Hey everyone! I am a third semester nursing student and will be graduating in June. I am burned out! I graduated with a BS in Health Science in the summer of 2010 and started this nursing program immediately after in fall 2010, so basically Im about to end my 6 year college streak. Im soooo stressed out! I have classes on Tuesday&Wednesday, 9 hour clinical on Thursday&Friday, and work 12 hour shifts on Saturday&Monday. So the only free day I have available is Sunday. And to top it all off I have a 2 year old and a 5 year old. Im just praying for time to fly by because Im not sure how much more of this I can take!

I lost 15lbs in the Spring of 2010, but I've gained 10 back since starting this program. I just need some motivation/support. I know I can do it cause Ive done it before, but the stress of the nursing program makes losing weight so much harder. I just wanna scream :literally:

Hi I'm Jennifer. I just got certified as a CNA this summer and I should have a job within a few weeks. I'm taking pre-req's but none this semister. I will start in Jan. I already have some under my belt but I would say that I can't apply for nursing school until next year or 2012. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Hi Patty! That's tough but do you really want to work some where you hate? Suze Orman would tell you to get going on what you would like and not to stay in a place you hate...but I don't know all your financial issues either. I hope it all works out for you!

hi everyone! i wannabe a nurse, so i will live vicariously through you for a year or so. i'm married with two boys (12 & 10), work full-time in a job i hate, have a master's in social work and a bachelor's in psychology, and i'm registered as an associate social worker, but just can't seem to get motivated to get 3200 hours for my license as a clinical social worker. it's just not in me. (if i really wanted it, i would have had it since i graduated in 1995, right?)

my husband is against me going for another career because of the mortgage, the bills, the kids, the time, etc. short of getting a divorce, i will be volunteering at a hospital, pray for a raise (ha!) and start taking my pre-req's.

aaaaarrrrrrgggghhh!!!!!! will i ever make it?

peace,
patty

Hi everyone! My name is Rachel Egan and I'm a Sophmore studing nursing at the university of Wisconsin Milwaukee. I used spark on and off last year just to make sure i wasn't over eating, especially with all the junk in the dorms. I'm currently interested in learning about all the harmful chemicals in foods and eliminating them from my diet. (lucky for me I live a block from whole foods:)) Nursing has been a newer interest of mine but I'm kinda nervous to enter this profession. I have been doing really well in school and hoping to get into the nursing program at uwm this spring. If anyone has any advice especially with uwm nursing program requirements I would really appreciate ur your help!

Hi everyone! My name is Jenn, I'm 27 years old and in about 2 weeks I will be starting my second year/3rd semester of the practical nursing program at Durham College in Ontario. My husband and I just moved to Edmonton, Alberta in June, (he is in the military) and I am leaving here to finish my schooling in Ontario where I started. I only have 1 more year left!
I am excited, but nervous about going back to school. I took 2 online courses this summer - development across the lifespan & pathophysiology I - in hopes it will lighten my course load in September.
This school year I am going to try and balance studying, work and fitness. I hope I can do it!

-Jenn
The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you

I just finished my second year preceptorship on a respiratory ward! So far the best experience during school! I unfortunately gained a lot of weight during that time period :( Night shifts= junk food. I'm hoping to lose some of the weight gained before school starts in September as I barely fit into any of my scrubs or 'street clothes.' I have two more years left in my BSN; I can't wait to see what growth and knowledge the coming years will bring me!

Hi all! I am in my second semester of nursing school and working on my BSN. I will graduate in the spring of 2013. I start my Med- Surgery Clinical on Thursday! Really nervous about messing up! Any advice would be lovely and much appreciated! I also start a new job tomorrow at the Health Unit. I will just be filing paper work but it is a start in the right direction! I currently struggle with my weight. I lose and then gain and then lose. I am trying to find balance which can be hard being as full time student, mom, working, and planning a wedding.

Hey everyone! My name is Ashley and I just started a BSN program in May 2011. I will be finishing in December of 2013. I've used Spark once before under a different name and I actually got down to 90 pounds (I'm only 4'11"). I'm 109 now and I'd like to get down to about 100. As a nurse, I want to be in great physical shape and feel comfortable in my own skin. I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Hey all! My name is Michelle and I'll be entering my 3rd year of nursing school (BSN) this fall. If all goes as planned, I'll be graduating in Spring 2013. I'm working on losing about 20 pounds to get myself feeling stronger and healthier. Considering how stressful our lives can get as nursing students, I think we sometimes forget to take care of ourselves (I know I have). I'm working on changing that because I know that I'll be a better nurse if I feel good myself! Good luck to everyone in whatever stage of school/weight you're currently at.. stay strong and let me know if you need anything! :)

I have a goal of losing an additional 10lbs. Since the start of the year I have already lost 17lbs! It wasn't easy, but it was necessary for my health! I have had challenges that I have had to overcome and I take each day at a time! I am motivated to living a healthier lifestyle so that I am healthy enough to take care of my family and to help others! I look forward to being apart of a team! =)

I am currently in nursing school and my life is oodles of stress which has been making losing weight harder then in the past, but I really want to get healthy! I am looking for some motivational support to keep me in line! I am hoping I would find some here

Hi all! I'm Sandy and I'm starting my last semester senior year this fall, and in December I will graduate with my bachelor of nursing degree. My goal is to get fit and eat better, and become a healthier person (both physically and psychologically!). I'm looking forward to making friends on S.P.!

Hello everyone! I also will be starting my first semester of nursing school in August, working towards my associate's degree and becoming an RN. I am sooo very excited! I finally worked up the gumption to lose weight (once again, sigh) and am making good progress. I find I don't mind the dieting near as much as I mind the exercising emoticon . Frankly, I just hate to sweat, lol. I'd like to get all parts of my life going in the right direction at the same time. Wouldn't that be wonderful? Good luck everyone! We can do this!!

Hello everyone,
My name is Stacey and I am starting my 3rd semester in RN program. I have already lost 30 lbs but instead of losing more I feel like a yoyo......up two down two! I am ready to start SPARKING again......nursing SCHOOL really wants you to focus on only ONE GOAL and that is NURSING......but in reality I know that the TRUTH is without a healthy life style I will need someone to nurse me! My passion is caring for others but RIGHT now it has to be CARING for ME! So while I have a short two week break before my next summer session begins...I am going to fast break and make positive choices in all areas of my life! I hope that I will connect with fellow nursing students who have the same goal and need encouragement. We are here to help one another.......I try not to be a needy FRIEND......but right now........I am really in NEED of someone to KICK me in the BUTT!

Hi everyone! My name is Andrea, and I am officially done with my first year of nursing school!!! YAY!!!! I am taking the summer off to catch up on family time and me time. I did really good and did not gain a single pound during the program so far but I have about 20 lbs I want to lose so that I feel better about myself and I don't want to be telling patients what they could do to better their health when I myself am not doing those things. Practice what you preach, ya know!?
My diet is good except for late night snacking. I blame my husband, lol. Before him I never bought junk food or ate at night after dinner. So I have some bad habits. During the day I do great, we eat whole foods. I don't prepare boxed meals or processed foods. I do a lot of homemade things. We made the switch to whole wheat and whole grain a long time ago and now are working on low cholesterol (for my hubby).
My problem is exercise. I am very sporadic with it. I am looking forward to getting into some great habits this summer and getting back in shape!
I also told all my fellow nursing students about this site hoping they will join the fun! emoticon emoticon

Hey everyone! I am Angie, 25 and glad to find fellow nursing students who really know and understand some of the challenges in my life at the present time. We all know, if you haven't been through nursing then you don't know what nursing students go through...it is ROUGH! Anyways, I am hoping for some support and ideas as I will give all I can. Also looking for a buddy! I have a year till graduation (technically 363 days but who's counting ;) I love working out and cooking and I am trying to really get back into it. I weigh about 250 right now which is the heaviest I have been and my clothes are really getting snug. My short term goal for now is 25 lbs (long term for now I will say is 100). Trying to keep it small so I stay away from the "big picture" and take it small steps at a time. Look forward to cheering everyone on!

Hello everyone! I hope it is okay that I am still pre-nursing, as I got turned down for my community college's nursing program (darn lottery system...lol). So I shifted gears and I am starting Sacramento State University in the fall to work on my bachelors for nursing. I haven't decided what area of nursing I want to work in, so it has been awesome reading about what everyone else is into.
As for my fitness goals, I am in a real unhealthy weight range and would kind of feel like a hypocrite nursing while being so unhealthy. I am stepping up my game this summer by focusing on learning to eat healthy and exercise regularly. I mostly work out inside by doing workout videos or playing on my xbox Kinect (I have quite a few workout games that I play regularly). My biggest challenge is my eating habits, as my family is always on the go and we turn to processed pre-packaged foods quite a bit. Plus I love sweets and have such a hard time with moderation.
If there is anything else you want to know feel free to visit my sparkpage or message me. I try to make it on the site once a day (if not more). I am always looking to make new friends! Good luck to us all! emoticon

Greetings!

My name is Michelle and I just finished my 3rd semester of nursing school (A.S.)- so I have one more semester to go (for now)!

Nursing school is C-R-A-Z-Y!!!! I thought I was done with school after a Bachelors and Masters, but then low and behond 6 years later I was SO bored and knew I needed something challenging each day to look forward to - and there came nursing emoticon haha. I LOVE it, but I don't love school!!!!

My passion is Pediatrics, but second would be Women's Health. Unfortunately I am working my butt off to get a nursing assistant position this summer and I have only got 1 call total and that position ended up being given to an internal candidate:^(.... I have been applying like crazy and making calls to HR departments, but no calls back (except for one and the recruiter said that most likely I wasn't going to get calls since I was so close to graduation - but I know that isn't completely true because a lot of my classmates got positions......).

So still plugging away. Any advice on how to get an interview would be muchly appreciated:^)

Happy to be here!!!!!

In Health!
-Michelle

Hi! My name is Traci...I am a full-time RN student ( I will graduate in May of 2012) and a mom of 3. Things are always busy around here, but I am lucky to have a supportive husband to help with the kids. I have been both chubby and thin off and on throughout my life, but I want to commit to being healthy for myself, my family, and the patients that I will care for. I am looking for inspiration and motivation...I know what it takes, I just need the power to get there! emoticon Over the past three or four years I have gained more weight than ever because I had a baby and started college, and I let the stress EAT away at me...literally. I want to stop the cycle and find more positive ways to relieve stress emoticon emoticon

I can be changed by what happens to me~but I refuse to be reduced by it. (Maya Angelou)

Hello!

My name is Stefanie and I am starting nursing school this fall. I am wondering how everyone manages to stick to a healthy diet while in nursing school. I know it's stressful and time consuming and I'm trying to figure out ways now to prepare so that I don't pack on the pounds once I start the program. Any suggestions and idea would be appreciated!! Thanks!!

Hi everyone :)
My name is Julia and I just finished my first semester of nursing school! I just did my clinical at the VA hospital near my school. We focused on geriatrics which happens to be my favorite type of nursing. I am looking to hopefully do post surgical nursing ( even though sterile field is not my favorite thing in the world ;) ) I am trying to get back in shape so that I can walk, lift, and nurse in tip top shape! Feel free to visit my page anytime!

Here is where we'd like to get to know our future nurses. I know there's another forum for it, but this way it's all consolidated and much less clicking (yay time saving!) Here you can tell us about your goals (Spark or not!) where you go to school (networking!) favorite clinicals, anything you want to share just put it out there! I'll start!

My name's Morna, I'm a nursing and psychiatry major and one day hope to discover new nonmedicinal methods to assist females with PTSD. I enjoy cooking, baking, knitting, reading watching movies (all things fattening and sedentary). I go to school in southwest VA and will soon start volunteer training at the local womens shelter to jump start my research. So excited!
