How often a day, do you eat food,when you are truly not physically hungry?


I know in the past I haven't listened to my body, but yesterday I actually took the whole day at work and after work to feel my hunger. And I ate alot less calories than I expected. I was actually at my lower end of my intake, which is awesome for me!

I wouldn't say for me it's the food, it's finding the time to exercise. So much going here and there, to visit my family and my husband's family. Plus working and being exhausted by all the chaos. But, I've decided, even if on my workout days, I am low on time, I will fit in at least 15 minutes. I did that yesterday and am happy about it :)

Ok the day went fairly well.. I didn't exercise other than pool time.. which hey that still counts.. just not the amount of exercise I would normally try to get in for the day. I did pretty much stick to my plan with two exceptions....and today I am back down the 3/4 lbs I'd gained... Now can I please keep going down?? lol....

so my answer to this is depends upon the holiday and time of year. I find it harder at Christmas which I might guess most people do as there are so many parties, and family functions etc.

Tomorrow I am already planning my menu to stay in plan. I don't think I will be able to exercise which bothers the heck out of me as I see my weight slooowly nudging downwards on the scale since having added light exercise back in.

Oh well..it's just one day..and I'll be back at it on Thursday.

hehe Memorial Day is long past.. sighs.. I've been so avoiding the computer lately it's not even funny. Well it's the weekend before the 4th.. and I'm not sure what we'll be doing ON the fourth..but I'm sure there will be some grilling going on!!

i personally think it's because the topics don't just cover tattoos and i think that is what some of the ladies were looking for. i inherited the group as the original team leaders dropped out.. and while i love ink and like talking about it i also come here for support and inspiration for this journey. so not sure if that is the reason or not..just a guess

I am not sure I am much help here. Honestly when I am active on Spark this is my most favorite group. I go through fits and spurts of being able to commit to spark daily. Hmm that is probably why I am not any more successful with my weight loss goals.. sighs..

My non working weekends can set me back. Being around my family makes it hard to stick to my plan. I have every intention to and then they will make me feel guilty by not getting into whatever it is they are doing (last weekend was going to the local creamery..where I chose 98% fat free frozen yogurt..but it was still really off my plan).. uggh.

Officially stopping my whining.. 2lbs in 2 days.. I'll take that.. WOW this portion control metabolism thing really works!! Soo happy!! Obviously still working out to boot... Had a blast with hub at the gym last night... it was so much fun. Can't wait to go back today. He's started to teach me how to box (was pro at one point in his life)... I love it!!

OMG well if 5 kills you.. what my trainer told me today would really kill you. he wants me to eat 6oz portions every 1 1/2 hours.. he's going to buy me portion containers so that I don't fall out of whack Idea is to break down my meals so they digest as efficiently as possbile.. WT..bleep!! uggh.. I just had my cottage cheese and blueberries and am not supposed to eat my salad (6 oz portion) until lunch... this is nutty.. uggh.. I will tell you though.. I have been keeping my calories to about 1000 a day and working out and do not see a serious weight loss.. I am back to my 147 which I was at a few weeks ago and then put back on when I was out of work for a week. I just find this beyond obnoxious.. working out 5 to 6 days a week.. eating 1000 calories a day.. and barely losing. uggh.

Ok first off.. color or black and gray.. I love color myself but my husband is all black.. and it looks awesome.. No grey even...all his tattoos are maoran (sp?) inspired but he left out their original red highlighting and left them straight black. Love it.. now for myself.. yup.. color girl!

Hmm.. night time binge.. NOPE.. I've just begun following a really strict regiment. It's hard but it's effective I can tell already. No food after 5pm. Yup.. I said 5pm...

it's a doughnut with out a hole and it's fried in lard...it's a PA thing I guess...

Simple walking.. I do short bursts of speed walking.. then a moderately fast paced then back to speed walking. It's just so relaxing and gets me out of the house, away from the stressors and feels sooo good to do!

I HATE ALL CARDIO!!! LOL;)) But, for best calorie burn in least amount of time, my treadmill run/walk intervals. Sometimes you can count weight lifting routines as cardio. Those are awesome. SP doesn't really recognize it though. I always count the 20 min. dumbbell video as cardio. And somrtime I combine a bunch of the videos that use weight and figure out the calorie burn and enter it as cardio. I LOVE THAT!

It's really simple but really good. Two tilipia fillets, the frozen ones, & frozen peas in lemon juice. I broil the Tilipia in the lemon juice and boil the peas till just hot. I use an old pie tin so when the fish is done and the peas too, I put the peas in the tin with the fish & add some more lemon juice. Oh, I flavor the fish with garlic powder, onion powder & basil flakes. YUMMY!!!

My biggest thing is my small chest! AND I MEAN SMAAAAL! SO, Ya know what? That's what I got DEAL WITH IT! It doesn't make me any less of a woman or any less of a person. I'm 41 yrs. old, turning 42 this year & I have just learned this in the last few months!!!! It still bothers me but I have learned to deal with it. I'm lucky to be alive and I SHOULD be thankful for that and concentrate on being the best ME I can & THAT has nothing to do with the size of my boobs! emoticon SO THERE!!! emoticon

I gained 10 pounds back too.. and it sucks.
But we all must take it up a notch and remember why we lost it to begin with.
This is what we want, we want to lose it, we want to be healthy, that is why we are here, if it wasn't we'd be out at the lunch buffet at round table stuffing our faces!
Let's not focus on the holidays now, they are over (thank goodness!) and next year we will try harder!!!
But now, it's January, and that means summer is only five months away, so let's break those bikini bodies out of the winter blubber and shed some hope and power on ourselve.
We all can do this! I have faith we can... Let's go team!!!!

emoticon for the apology but, it wasn't necessary! emoticon We all get busy at one time or another even me! LOL:)) I did miss the emoticon more than I thought I would!:))

I hear ya on holiday weight. But, the thing is, it's kind of a good chance to get a different perspective and a new plan of attack! That's how I started 2012. I joined the January challenge and so far so good. It's slow but it only the 9th day. I tried the fast & furious route with some success but not for maintenance. So I'll settle for this. At least it gives me some direction every day.

One thing I have found that IS REALLY USEFUL is to eat only "special" food. You know, things you don't make at home or any other time of year. If I can make it I know I'd change some of the ingredients to make it a little healthier so WHY eat an unhealthy version of the same thing?

Thanks! It took me FOREVER to get to this point. I have to give 99% of the credit to my SparkFriends though. On a bad day you'd never know I think like that! emoticon I whine A LOT!!!

I look at what I did and learn from my "mistakes". The #'s can change so fast but habits don't. The less I concentrate on the scale #'s and more on what's going in & out the better off I am.

I don't know if thins is what you're looking for but these are the things that keep me getting on my treadmill & getting on the floor to do crunches, planks etc. and grabbing my 5, 8, 10 & 15 Pound weights.
1 - Being able to get into my 0 GAP jeans without wiggling.
2 - not having to walk around suckin' in my tummy.
3 - Being able to go to the super cheap sales rack at Target where they have the XXX or X-Small only & being able to wear the X-Small!
4 - The way my tummy looks in the mirror just standin' there relaxed
5 - Feeling better about myself on the inside

I only count water towards my daily water goal - I count herbal tea, coffee etc separately.

the only prepackaged food i rely on is baby romaine that is pre washed and i use it as the base for my salads for work to help on saving me some prep time.
