No, it is from the knee surgery i just had, takes awhile to heal and get strong again. and I am probably the world's worst patient when it comes to not being able to get around and do things. My hubby is partially disabled also and i used to do everything and it drives me nuts when i can see what needs to be done and I can't do it. The kids have been great, stayed with us a lot the first week but have to get back to work but they will be stopping and I can call if need be. It is just hard for me to be pati ent. Georgine

Hope you get to doing better soon. Is it from vertigo that you're having problems with balance?

Good morning! Sunshine and in the 50s bit the winds are bad and the fire danger is already up, fires in Wisconsin already. I hope it will be put out quickly. I see my surgeon today to have the staples our of my knee. I am not looking forward to it but it is a step closer to getting back to normal. I can't wait to get my puppy home. My daughter and hubby took her while i am recovering but I miss her terribly. I hope everyone has a nice day, Georgine

Good morning! It finally warmed up here and most of the snow in the yard went quickly and good riddance. It is awfully wet and muddy but bare sidewalks and street. I am going for knee surgery Tues. so will spend the day reading the book they sent me to see what i need to do to get ready. i have been busy with my puppy so have not been posting as much. She is 4 months old now and still a ball of fire and lots of fun but she is work but I knew that. We have had the windows open too, feels so wonderful. Cloudy today and windy but no need for long underwear, boots, heavy jackets--Hurrah!! Hope everyone has been doing well, i probably will be gone after tomorrow til Saturday providing all goes as planned. Have a great Sunday!! Georgine

Lovely day here in the Northeast, sunny and cool. My favorite weather, sweater weather! Off to Church and then I will ride my exercise bike. I woke up with my back bothering me but I am hoping that the riding will make it feel better and not worse.
What are you all up to, today?
regards, Sunny

Captain, wish I could send you some of our beautiful sunshine weather. It's suppose to be 81 here tomorrow. Spring has sprung in Northern Calif. It's absolutely incredible. The windows are open in my office to let the fresh air in.

I remember the days when we went into the woods to get wood, it was a lot of work but good exercise. Hubby can't do those things anymore. I am trying to catch up on here and around the house. taking care of that puppy when she is awake is a full time job plus getting her outside. Also I am trying to get back to exercise. started walking the puppy but we have more snow so it isn't easy walking cau se there is slush and ice underneath. everyone is very tired of winter as it feels way too long!! Hope everyone has a great day! Georgine

I did work hard this weekend. Hard wet wood . We picked up a long bed truck load . Split it on the way out just enough to make it movable. Then we went back for more. Second load is still in the truck.

Hi All...
I'm new to this team... I wanted to say, however, how great it is to see there are so many people 50 and over here. For awhile, I felt like I was just too old to care anymore about my weight. I have had a turn-around though and it's good to see there are others in my peer group around here...

Wed is usually my fatigue day as I take a heavy-duty med on Tue eve. Last Wed I was great, today a bit draggy. My big thing for today is driving the garbage and recycle bin to the end of the driveway. I'll decide later about going to the fitness ctr & grocery store.

I'm glad there is a general discussion forum. Its been around for awhile, but I guess I didn't notice it before. It would be nice if the site owners would remove sites that are no longer active. There are so many places I lose track of where I've been. The Recent Posts link on the right side column is helpful. This weekend since Fri a.m. has been filled with sitting, driving, and eating and, of course gaining a couple of lbs. I hope tomorrow will begin a revitalization of my fitness ctr and healthy eating plan - and a trip to Sam's for some fruits & vegs. Have a great evening folks.

Tigger...it is hard being somewhere and everything is different. My oldest son was in Japan for awhile and it took him time. Hope things get easier as time goes on and good luck with finding interesting food to enjoy. That was a hard one for my son. He did grow to love his time there and hope you will too. Tigger - you didn't say why you moved to Tokyo. There are "American" schools where the children of US businessmen/women go to school. That might be a resource. Contacting a US business that has a branch in Tokyo that transfers US people in and out might be another resource for you. I've worked with people who came to he US and it isn't just the excitement and intrigue of the geographic change. The culture shock from the US to other country/culture is much greater than foreign to US

Hi, Don't want to be a downer, but need some happy talk. I moved to Tokyo last April and struggling with food and such. Not many people to meet up with for running and just getting down right bored. Seems silly, but not into Japanese food, soy, miso and noodles not my thing and hard to find ingredients to cook with. Don't mean to sound ungrateful, but just need a moral booster.

Beautiful day in Central IN. I like to see what other people are doing - in sentence form rather than 1 word. So many of you are doing so many things you inspire me to close up the computer and get a move on myself. I need to go to the fitness ctr today and take something to record what I do.
Hope everyone is getting their Christmas decorations put away and are getting back into the groove of getting back to work, kids back in school, and life moving forward. Have a great day.

Dottiebell that is great! What an inspiration! You are right there are always ways to get the exercise in!
Today, I am eating healthy and plan to walk/jog on my treadmill for 2 miles. It is a new treadmill and I am still adjusting to it.
It is my first weekend off after the holidays so I am cleaning up Christmas and organizing my house today with the help of hubby. The kids are all back to their lifes and we are empty nesters. So, time to get back to our lifes too!
Eat healthy, exercise, journal and enjoy my weekend off are the plans for me! I think reading my book will definitely be my relaxer today also!

My Newest Gig: Chair-Dancing and there is a wonderful video out to pop into the TV and get with it. You just can't keep a Good Ol' Gal down. Who says I have to give in or give up my exercising? Where there's a Will, there's a Way. Walking sticks still produce sore, swollen ankles. Chair-Dancing is fun, fun, fun....with hardly any after-effects. Now I can get my Cardio-Workout done. So I had to cook. a big pot of soup consisting of Celery, onion, squash, soy curles, tvp, garlic, chicken broth I got for $2 with a good date, whole wheat 1/2 chicken brest , parsley, sage Maby that will calm my nervs.or I could go get some wine. 4oz Big drinker

Tue was sunny & warm for early Dec in Ctrl IN. Wed chilly and rainy-overcast. Thur (today) cool and sunny. We are just having wonderful weather. Suspect we will pay in Jan.
Told my kids/grandkids since the world is ending Dec 21, no need to bother Xmas shopping, but did some shopping anyway - just in case.
Either time for a property mgr (but can be pricey) or an eviction notice. Maybe even a for sale sign depending on local market situation.
BTW, $9 isn't much for food AND wine for a long weekend.

My husband gave me $9 for food and wine for the long weekend We are making it a working vacation. I am a Landlord with no Income since April. Plumers, electrisions, carpet (not by who I asked), paint (charging for paint ) even though there is matching paint in the shed. Maby time for a new property management, We asked if they could pay the property tax yhinking they would pay it all and get the discount,

You did it! That's so fantastic losing 135+
