OY! I gained 15 lbs in grad school over the past 2 years! Long story short, it was only 10 until my MD put me on a ketogenic diet for adrenal exhaustion last spring. Unlike most people, I gained (another) 5 lbs!

So I'm back. My numbers are embarrassing. Due to my adrenal recovery, I can't exercise like I used to (which was excessive). My clothes are all tight and I need to look "fancy" for my new career.

Good news: I have my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. I take the licensure exam on Tuesday (it's crazy hard). My family is doing great and I start my private practice next month!

Hi girls. I'm so glad to see you check in Carinmarie. I hope things are going well for you both. I need to get back to exercising again. I just get bored with it after a while and I see better results on the scale from just watching the food. I will be going off my cholesterol med soon so I will definitely have to get started again.

This is my challenging time of year as the weather gets cold and it makes me crave the carbs more. We had frost on the cars this morning and some area's got snow over the weekend. I'm really going to try to not gain the weight back this winter.

Is anyone still around??

SO sorry to be so MIA. The summer kind of lost me.

And now I have a lot of weight to lose. I'm embarrassed to say I'm at 136 right now. (Sob.)

Step one was coming here to admit it lol.

I am getting strength training done but my favorite cardio classes were canceled at the gym and I haven't been doing enough of that on my own to compensate. Plus..... the FOOD. And the DRINK.

So..... I need to eat and drink less and get back into the running habit. Here we go!

No change on the scale yet but clothes are fitting looser. It always takes a while before the scale catches up. I was doing pretty good until Easter then there was too much candy in the house. I had given in to the temptation for a few weeks.

I am working my butt off at the gym and basically just maintaining a 130 lb. weight.

I was talking with DH about it - talking about what I did differently when I lost all the weight after my second son. I was counting calories and running a lot. Even though I am exercising like crazy now, a lot of it is strength-building - even the HIIT, although it is intense cardio as well, uses body weight strength-building exercises. And i do feel stronger for sure! Strong, healthy, and fit! But not thin.

So I want to run more. I'm going to start with two days a week and see if I can add in somewhere else at some point - but I don't want to give up my current training - just add to it - and there's only so much more I can do.

Hi ladies.

How is everyone??

I have taken a break from my weigh ins. I was just getting so frustrated. I am working out like crazy, getting strong, and not seeing any change on the scale.

Had a beach day yesterday. I really need to get rid of this belly!

I am going to really concentrate on protein, fruits, and veggies. I always feel better that way, but fall into bad sugar and carb habits. I hope that with that change, in combination with all the workouts I'm doing, I will see some results in my major, hard-to-fix trouble spot!!

Thanks CARINMARIE. I have a number of factors at work here. 1: my mom just stayed with me for two weeks. That messed with my workout schedule and my eating. 2: my youngest has been sick, so no gym day care, and no school. And 3: it's my TOM and that messes with me in all kinds of ways.

But I feel like I can get back on track a bit now. Today was the first healthy day the tiny man has had in what seems like forever, so tomorrow I will get back to the gym. I had a good eating day today, so I hope the scale will show that tomorrow.

But I have to say that even though I'm not feeling on top of it right now, and the scale is a super bummer, I do feel better about what I see in the mirror - my arms are getting toned and I'm getting closer to feeling comfortable in my bikini. (It has been up to 90 degrees here!) So progress is progress I guess, even if it's not showing in my weigh-ins.
