Dee, I agree with you in with respect to eating more often during the day. Jillian says 4 meals a day, right? Three squares and a snack... I am a 5-6 time a day person and it has worked for me for a good while as well. I do, however, want to try some of her recipes...they sound good!

I'm not a balanced oxidizer... I am *slow*, lol. But I did take this quiz more than once. I found that my I really had to think about it and it took a while to answer all the questions.

I follow her eating plan but not her recipes. I find that she doesn't have me eating frequently enough through the day. I graze and find my energy slumps if I don't eat every 2 hours or so. Also I have been watching what I eat for almost 2 years now and think that I have a pretty good handle on what does and does not work for my body.

Welcome to MTC HECKINGE. I think the book does a good job at accurately pinpointing the right diet. It certainly got me right. It has helped me to understand how my body reacts to the fuel I give it. When it makes sense I can work better with it. Where is the "show me" state? That's where I must have been conceived.

The MTC quiz said I was a "balanced" oxidizer. I think it is pretty accurate for me. I was eating The Zone (aka balanced oxidizer) ratio for the month before I left for vacation and that is when the weight was falling off of me. I was also rarely hungry and almost no cravings (other than while watching Sunday football... I think I am like Pavlov's dogs and football is my trigger for junk food!)

I am a fast oxidizer. Over the past few weeks I've really had to get myself back on track with my protein, especially for breakfast. Feeling much better!

I, too, am balanced...am having a hard time getting enough protein...I intended to follow the meal plan to a T, but it was just too much regimented stuff on top of the workout plan. My life is too busy to prep two diff. meals for me and hubby as he wouldn't eat a good bit of what's on Jillian's menu. That said, I intend to try some of the recipes as they look good. I AM trying to stay on track with the specific foods she says to eat/not eat as a balanced oxidizer.

I agree that most people are probably balanced oxidizers. I am too. I never followed her meal plan, it just wasn't possible given the menu (I'm a vegetarian), but I have tried a few of the recipes and they were good.

I also try and follow the percentages as best I can. I also used the BMR formula for how many calories to eat which I found to be really helpful.

I follow the balanced oxidizer partly. I do my best to follow the ratio of protein/carbs/fat. Some days are better than others. We have made several of her recipes, and have liked everything so far. I modified Jillian's recommendation for daily sodium intake. Under 1,000 mg per day made me nervous so I increased it to 2,000 mg per day and generally stay between 1,500-2,000 mg per day.

It does seem like most people are balanced oxidizer... I eat clean and follow my own creations but I'm getting better and better about getting the right number of carbs, protein, and fat. Staying within my range is and will be the key for long term success.....I think that's most important, personally. Eating clean allows me to eat more (stretch those calories) and I feel most energetic etc. Oh, I love the way my skin feels so smooth now:)

i didn't follow her diet plan - too many foods either i can't eat due to allergies or my family wouldn't eat. i did use the % of protein, carbs... that were recommended and tried to stick to those and stuck pretty close to my bmr.

is anyone NOT a balanced oxidizer? it seems that most people would be the balanced one.

also, does everyone mostly follow the plan she lays out for each oxidizer?
