I don't know why I wrestle with God over certain things. I know that the instant I surrender, He pours forth untold blessing in my life. Oh, Lord, help us to fully surrender to you, to loosen our grip on things that you have not placed in our lives, readily handing them over to you, our hands then open and ready to receive what you choose to place within us.

God is patient. However, God said, "My Spirit shall not always strive with man" (Gen 6:3). So let's not put Him to the test, for we will lose. Thanks MISSY! Vic.

I heard a message one time that stuck with me. I forget who the minister was. He talked about people who had recurring sin in their lives. They'd get victory and then fall back into their errant ways over and over, in a frustrating cycle that seemed hopeless. He encouraged people in that cycle by pointing out that the very fact that they were upset and frustrated by their return to sin, even though they did not resist the draw toward it, was proof positive that the Holy Spirit was alive and well within them. Isn't that an awesome viewpoint?!

I agree but I do remember having a very sensetive conscience even as a child and before I was born again.I could never sin without a lot of mental distress. emoticon

A person has real spiritual problems when they cease to be affected by their sins. We all sin, but when we sin as “believers”, there is chastisement and conviction. There is the sense that we have dishonored the Lord and damaged our fellowship with Him. When we sin, we look for a place of repentance. When that sense of sin is missing, it is an indication that the heart has grown hard toward the Lord. It is an indication that the conscience has been seared. It is an indication that sin has planted deep roots within a life. God help us to maintain a tender heart toward sin. Did You Know? Vic.
