It is no coincidence that God shared with us for time immemorial the virtues AND the failures of Bible characters. We've as much to learn from the great feats of faith and obedience recounted in the Word as we do from the great blunders, failures, and outright disobedience there. Doesn't it stand to reason that our lives should be authentic, as well, learning from one another's victories as well as each other's defeat's? Be real. Be honest. Hide nothing. Expose everything to the light of God's word and His loving touch! When God trusts you enough to expose a brother or sister's shortcomings, respond with grace and mercy, just as we hope to receive when we mess up. Thank you for this very real message, Vic!
There is nothing we can do to make God love us more; there is nothing we can do to make God love us less. -- Philip Yancey
Most of us do not trumpet our abilities, yet we go to great lengths to conceal our problems. This just reminds us that we are human, and as long as we live in this world, we are going to remain less than perfect. No matter how far up the ladder of holiness we climb, we will still be sinners, and we need a Savior still desperately. Did You Know? Vic.
