For me, avoiding sugar works well. The more fruits and veggies I eat, the better my day goes when it comes to eating. Yes, eating slowly helps. It takes twenty minutes for your brain to get the message to your stomach that you are satisfied.

I also eat three small meals and a couple of good snacks in the day.

Do all things in moderation. It's okay to eat sweets, just don't eat the whole thing! Watch what you eat and keep it balanced. Your body will tell you when you are missing something. Learn to listen to it.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Pil 4:13.

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, constant in prayer. Rom 12:12

Planning my menu for the day and committing it to paper and my tracker, and trying to never have the same thing two days in a row. I don't want to risk becoming bored with food.

A big glass of water when you want to eat will sometimes prove satisfying. Too many people mistake thirst for hunger these days.

Since I joined SparkPeople I have started eating a sandwich with only one piece of bread. I take smaller bites and take longer to chew each bite.

What are some of your tips?
