Thanks, EBURGITE.
Yesterday I was able to get 120 minutes water aerobics, water jogging and walking, in total, done.
Today, I am back with decluttering and organizing.

Helped my landlord's brother fix my furnace. He has heart issues and his hands are no longer steady, so I was holding the new pilot sensor in place and helping him screw it in. It was hard work because it had to go behind a bunch of other wires and the screwdrivers were all too long to fit back there. Still, after a lot of effort, we managed to get it in place and now my furnace is finally working! It's been almost two weeks coming, so I am very happy.

Had a nice evening out with my husband and two sons. At first we didn't feel like bundling up and going anywhere but I'm glad we did

Just had a great day sharpening my spark. I got lots done at home and at work, ate a little healthier, and did a little exercise. The kids keep me so busy, but I found a way to carve in some tasks that will help all of us in the long run.
P.S. Eburgite that is

I got a small corner of my house cleaned up....my older son's room. I need to do a little more work in his space, but it gives me great relief to make that improvement in his little world.
Also had a wonderful, healthy soup and salad bar lunch with some awesome willpower.

Zentangle is a way of drawing that is neither drawing nor doodling. Hard to explain. Here is a quote from the book "Zentangle is meditation achieved through pattern-making. A Zentangle is a complicated looking drawing that is built one line at a time"
I went to the class to get ideas to possibly design my own bead patterns. I do not have drawing skills, but this class enables you to make drawings that look pretty good.

I went to a jewelry class, and in it I met a woman who invited me to a "Zentangle" class. It is like one thing leads to another. This lady and I seem to have a lot in common, and it has been a long time since I have made a new friend.

I meta lady named Manuela at McChord AFB. She is a beader, makes leather purses, and does torch work. She came over and we got to know each other and worked on our beads. She is going to teach me lampwork! I am excited!

My little boy had his first "musical performance" in church.
He is very young so I wasn't sure if he would stand up there and sing with the other older kids. He seemed interested so I'm glad I let him m try it.

We got a new furnace/heat pump! Our original one was 32 years old, and those don't usually last more than 20. The air conditioner was also about 17 years old. So relieved that is finally taken care of, a lot of stress has now been eliminated.

Loved having a day off..caught up with several friends via email, chatted with my mom about some important things she is dealing with, did 5 loads of laundry, went to the store just me and one of my children, and ate some yummy food, relaxed for a 1/2 hour with a favorite TV show and a baby on my lap....So many simple joys.

Our boxer recently had a mass removed from her kidney. I noticed her incision was infected. So I used a special suave my mother made (native american recipe); it drew out most of the infection. Then I put activated charcoal on. This morning my boxer woke me--I felt she was thanking me for making her feel better. She has been very affectionate to me now. No sign of infection or swelling.
Yesterday I slept in a whole hour later than I should have, but still was not TOO late for work. And I was on time where it counted. The theme was "rising above" lots of set backs. Proud to be able to do that.

As they say AMANDA, ask a busy person to get something done and it gets done--you have to be organized.
Our student should be here on 8/28/12 through 6/28/13. We have her for 10 months!! We have sent her parents an e-mail as well as her, plus pictures. No response yet--I am checking all the time. I cannot wait to hear from them.
SHARJOY that room sounds so nice. When is the student expected to arrive and how long will the visit last? I'm so happy for you to be getting this time with your daughter...
On this topic my "best thing" for yesterday was another little picnic in the park with my two boys. I'm starting to get better at organizing everything...and I am looking forward to doing this on many, many, many more days off. It makes me feel a lot better about working full time, because we will have that quality time together and it will be something they remember I hope.

Got our exchange student's bedroom done. It looks so cute. Soft lavender wall with soft green and blue accent colors. I made a ribbon bulletin board. Found a cute sign that says, "Life is Beautiful" and put that up. Now I have to get the right bed cover and I will make some pillows in the accent colors.
Today I will work on my daughter's bedroom. Lots of posters with accent colors are bright green and blue. The walls are a soft pale blue-white. I am going to surprise her with a bean bag chair because she have up her bedroom for the exchange student.
My house is filled with my daughter's new friends and I love it. I know where she is and who she is hanging out with. However, it is hard not to have a messy den or kitchen. But I can live with that.
Yesterday the best things could be summed up in one word...family. I looked through a box of old pictures for a birthday party display and saw some from when I was a small child that I had never seen before. When my mom called I told her all about it and we just had the nicest chat. My husband and I also attended a nice birthday party for our friend's child later in the day...it was just fun and relaxed!

My favorite thing about yesterday was the time I spent making banana bread with my older son. He loves to "help" with any task I am doing. It took us two days since we measured out the dry ingredients and I forgot we needed eggs...so he was very excited about it when I got home from work and we could start working on it again. It was a relief to finally put it in the oven! Cleaning up the mess is not as fun, but I hope to get it done quickly so I can start the prep for whatever I cook next.

Got through the rough day and came home in a grateful mood!
Cleaned and organized one little corner of my house. You would be amazed what I found and got rid of under the kitchen sink.

I am a very easy going gal that loves people and wants to know as many as I can. I want to make new friends so I can enjoy more of life. When people get to 55 or 60 there are some that think life should be over but guess what it is just beginning. Maybe 50 years ago it was over but not now people are living longer and working in their 70's. I would have been if I didn't have leukemia and it does not stop me but I have good days and bad, so being home if I need rest, I rest, at work I couldn't do

I read to a group at a nursing home. I do that once a month. Usually, I try to pick stories that have to do with the season - in this case it would have been Easter. But it is hard to find adult stories about Easter except for the Biblical one. So I decided to read from one of Effie Wilder's books. She has written five books about life in an assisted living facility. The books are written in diary form so I can read as much as possible within an hour without stopping in the middle of a continuing story. The people enjoyed the reading yesterday so much that I think I will find another of her books to read from next month.
