Yes, the lady who died was my good friend. She played the cello beautifully and was a good Christian.

Thanks Nellie...like Marj I don't have much knowledge about diabetes. Thankfully it's never been in my family.
I didn't quite understand, the lady who died, was she your friend? or another example. I can certainly see how important blood sugar testing is.

I can honestly say I'm having a wonderful day...100% on plan!! What could be better...just takes all the sweat out of making bad choices!!

Happy New Year to everyone!! And may 2014 be all you desire it to be! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Nellie - I wasn't thinking along the same lines as you, since I haven't had lots of experience with diabetes. My thoughts were more about the addictive effects. If I remember correctly, our body needs B vitamins to digest the sweet part of sugar cane or sugar beets. When the ugly brown part (that contains the B vitamins) is removed - leaving just the sweet, white part - and then we eat it, our bodies are robbed of whatever B's they have and then begin to crave more B's, and hoping to get more of them we eat more sugar. And so the vicious cycle begins. Of course, this is an over-simplified version of what really happens, but it's the way my simple brain remembers what it took a whole book to explain!

Psalm 40:3 He has put a new song in my mouth — Praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord.

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things [all of my needs] shall be added unto you.

Well, for diabetics, anything that raises their blood sugar a lot is like alcohol literally. It can just be carbs in general. I had a good friend, type 1 diabetic, who checked her blood sugar anytime she was going to drive. If her sugar was over 200, she would not drive since she knew her driving would be impaired. Also, she warned friends to tell her to stop and take her blood sugar if she started driving strangely. One time I was with her, she suddenly got a manic expression on her face and hit the gas. I told her to stop and take her blood sugar. Sure enough it was over 200, so I ended up driving her van to my house and by that time her sugar was low enough for her to drive home.

Unfortunately if the sugar is too high, the person may be so impaired they don't recognize that they shouldn't drive. She died in a horrible accident that wrapped her van around a power pole. Her daughter said that half an hour before the accident, her blood sugar had been higher than 500.

Oh Marj I can so identify in eating the sweet stuff, with the feeling that it has to go...usually down into me!! lol.
I think half the battle is that we keep an eye on the scale and not refuse to acknowledge what we weigh...for the good or bad!! I'm sure you will tackle it with success again.
Thankfully I've never been a smoker or a drinker!!

Weighed in this morning...up 1.5lbs. I'm OK with that really...Goodies almost gone from the house so that will help!
Have stayed in my target range for 11 weeks!!

Awful windy rainy weather here so am staying in the warm for the day!!

I know Janet - traditionally, Jan and/or Feb is when I hit it hard again. My Spark anniversary is Feb 14 - it was a nice Valentine! I think what happens is that I start to panic when I finally get the courage to step on the scale after the holidays. And I seem to be like an alcoholic when it comes to sweets. Once I take that first bite there is no stopping until they are gone - or sometimes a new day helps. Each day I have to decide to (or not to) take that first bite. I read years ago that white sugar acts the same in our bodies as alcohol does. Thank you Lord that my problem is with sugar, not alcohol! I remember one time while still in high school I was offered a drink of some kind and even then my thought was that if I tried it I might like it and not be able to stop. God's hand of protection was with me way back then, long before I knew Him personally!

Now, off to a new day - time for my walk!

Marj

Oh Marj...I'm into the goodies too, just trying to not over do it. There's something about having to go to a class and be weighed that actually makes me nervous!! lol.
Don't worry too much those pounds will soon disappear as you get back to normal eating again.

Supposed to have my sil here for lunch...she rang at 8.30 and said she'd be on the 12.30 train...sign! Seemingly 4hrs wasn't enough time to get herself ready!! This is a common problem for her. So we've eaten and I suppose I shall cook hers if and when she arrives!!
Sorry to moan but am a bit peeved! I really didn't need another roast lunch...with banoffee for dessert!

Guess I'm still not dedicated enough to leave the goodies alone when they are so plentiful - I was up 3 pounds today.

Yes Diana my sil God willing, will be here for her visit tomorrow.

Your day sounded very nice and the food too. For Christmas day we were at my daughter's and my 3 grandsons. Our food was very traditional...
Roast turkey (I had nut roast) roast potatoes, roast parsnips, stuffing, pigs in blankets, brussel sprouts, broccoli, peas, carrots, cauliflower & leeks in a cheese sauce and gravy. Dessert was my home made black forest trifle and chocolate yule log, and cream.
I ate wisely and as you said, no excesses! There were 9 of us around the table so plenty of food.
So far my scale is weighing the same as last Monday when I weighed in at my slimming class. Hope to carry this over for this Monday!!

Well done for you being a pound down this week...that takes dedication!!

Janet, I'm so sorry the weather as been so bad to spoil a family visit, but hopefully you can have a belated one.

It's going to be a family day here, just me, my daughter, and hubby. We will pray and have mass late this afternoon. We had a nice breakfast this morning and will have our Christmas meal before mass. I'm doing great so far with calories. We can still have everything we want we will just skip the excess. In the past I have had multiple desserts and more food courses than necessary. I'm keeping it simple with a baked ham, mashed potatoes, candied yams, salad, biscuits, and a chocolate silk pie. I will be busy, but the day will be relaxing as well. It will be perfect! What are your plans?

Blessings,

Hope Jason is successful and get the appointment.

We had hurricane gale force winds last night...pretty scary and I didn't get much sleep during the night. We found a damaged fence panel but thankfully nothing else. There is much flooding in the country with no trains or planes moving. This of course affects people's travel arrangement for the season. Joseph's sister wasn't able to come for lunch today because she couldn't get a train. The storms are due back again on Friday!!

Diana, I'm all for swapping recipes for saving some calories if they're tasty alternatives.
Your temps sound about the same as mine...but we consider that chilly!! lol.

Nellie...hope the red tape is gotten through so he can start work...I take it, no work = no $$$

Hi Marj...good to hear from you again...busy that you are. Glad you had a safe place to stay with all that snow fall. Was that an ordinary game of dominoes? The sort that we play as children...it was a favourite past time of older men in bars in Spain every afternoon too.

My baking session is done for a Christmas Fayre tomorrow which Sarah is doing for her day nursery. Hope it makes lots of money for this good cause.
I had a nice day out yesterday to a town about an hours drive away...didn't buy much but had a nice meal out...ate a fab dessert that wasn't calorie friendly!! Today was a new day....

Marj, I am fortunate to live in the desert, we golf all year long. It was somewhere between 36-39 degrees F that day. Right now we are seeing many visitors to our area. Today the group in front of us was taking off their layers of clothes saying it was "just like summer in Alaska!" I could not wear my wind shirt either and I live here, lol. I do get cold watching those snowbirds wearing their shorts.

I loved my spaghetti squash with my meat sauce better than the regular pasta. Hubby was not brave enough to try it. Unfortunately, I'm out of sauce now and will have to try some new recipes with my squash or make another batch. Keep warm!

Just popping in here for a minute - all is well, just busy with programs, music, etc. We're having icebox temps here too -24° this morning. Would be nice to be able to stay home, but it's another work day. Last week we had a snowstorm - anywhere from 15 to 24 inches in the area. It was a day that I worked, so I stayed in town with my 'boss' friend. We had a nice quiet evening together - she introduced me to a domino game. I've never before played with anyone who actually knows the rules!

I read all of the recent posts - sounds like we're not the only ones with cold weather. Diana, how cold was it when you were playing golf? The golf course here is snow covered - I think if anyone wanted to play they would need to use green golf balls. And their whole body would be stiff - not just their legs!

Nellie - I hope the new job works out for Jason.

Janet - Sounds like you had another fun time with your grandsons!

Gotta go -

How nice that seeing your grandson's tree house decorated boosted your spirit. I bet they loved it! I am cooking a spaghetti squash for the first time today. It is suppose to be 42 calories verses 221 calories for white flour pasta per cup. I made a pot of spaghetti sauce also and can't wait to try my veggie pasta with the leftovers. I found the cooking instructions and information in a SP article "Try this 42 Calorie Swap." It was so cold on the golf course yesterday that my legs stiffened up while walking. It was a bit warmer today and much more comfortable. Hope everyone is doing well.

That sounds like a very different career Nellie for Jason. Hope he does well and it lasts longer than before.

Had a nice milder sunny day today which was appreciated. I had my grandsons after school today and saw they had their tree and house decorated...makes for much excitement and makes me remember when I was a child!!

Christian books are good to read, I'm an avid reader too Diana.
I do feel for my American friends having got past Thanksgiving we are headed up towards Christmas and New Year...takes a lot of dedication!! I'm sure you will have a good month Diana.

Had a nice day today out and about. We also ate lunch out too which made a nice a change from home cooking. Mine was just a jacket potato with tuna and sweetcorn and small salad. Joseph had a curry and rice dish and liked that too.
I'm going to the twins 'good work' assembly tomorrow morning so am looking forward to that.

Nellie, how is Jason doing...any sign of a job yet?

A bunch of years ago I had largish mole removed from my shoulder. They put in an injection of Novocaine or something similar and did something like burning it off with a tiny tool that buzzed and made tiny smoke. It healed up nicely afterward. They did take off a little slice first to analyze the cells and they were not cancerous, PTL.

Hi everyone...

I saw a surgeon today about a 'warty thing' on the side of my jaw, along near my ear. I wanted it frozen off but he doesn't do that, they scrape it off, under anesthetic, and get the root out too he said. All seemed pretty simple so hope that is dealt with.
While in that town we looked in the church at the nativity cribs on show. Sarah's nursery school had one so we had to see that one. They were all very nice. Later on Father Christmas arrived to switch on the street decoration lights but we'd already gone home so didn't see that. I didn't know Sarah and the twins were there waiting for it either.
This morning my sister came to collect her jacket that I'd fitted a new zipper in...do I like alterations? noooo!!! but she's my sister! lol

Well you al have a blessed Lord's Day tomorrow...1st December too!!! Wow!!!

It seems to have turned mighty cold here in my part of southern England!!
I've been slowly amassing some presents ready for Christmas. I'm not usually into that so early but just trying to spread the cost. I know you all have Thanksgiving first and I think you give gifts at that time too.
I have the twins tomorrow after school for a while so will be nice to see them again.

Diana, I saw that you did well again with your weekly weigh in...well done and I know you'll probably be watching the meals whilst away. I know it's nice to be with family at those times so enjoy yourself too.
I was a huge fan of LS too but when I had knee problems last Christmas I stopped and just do lots of walking now for my exercise.
I have seen the tracker advertised on here but haven't heard of anyone who has one yet. Personally I think they're quite pricy!

Monday coming...5 more days and we'll be into December!!!

It's been raining the last two days. It's times like these when I really appreciate having the exercise bike. I used to do Walk Away the Pounds but, just needed something new for at home. I am looking forward to not cooking this Thanksgiving as we will be going to my mom's and hubby's sisters house. Yes, that means two celebrations (two separate days thank God). I did however, pick up a couple of bottles of wine to share. There's not much new going on with me. I'm happy with the progress being made in my weight loss efforts. How are things with you? Has anyone tried the new Spark Activity Tracker yet?

It does seem to be a chilly day here also. It started at about 18 degrees F early this morning and is now about 38 degrees according to my thermometer outside.

Quiet on the team chat...

We had some sleety rain here this morning...and a painter was doing some repairs to the stair case so the front door was open! House was freezing...can't seem to get warmed up today!!

Thanks Nellie...that date has always been special to us and we've always celebrated it. Looking back we can see how the Lord engineered our meeting...I wasn't a Christian at the time either.

We had our meeting this morning, which I seemed to cough through!! Not sure if I caught anything in London but praying it will pass.
I have the twins for a while tomorrow afternoon as they have a day off school while the teachers do some training!
I'm planning on making a new dress...have everything ready but need the oomph to get started!! I did replace a zipper in Joseph's new jacket..that was a job and a half (as we say!)...but he's happy now!

Had a wonderful day out in London for our (unofficial) anniversary! We walked miles up and down Oxford Street and saw the city streets all lit for Christmas! We had a wonderful lunch in a vegetarian & vegan restaurant and they were very gracious to us with our celebration. We only had a main as it was very sufficient!! Later we had a light supper before we caught the train home. I did have a few chocs as I walked around but it did feel quite controlled so that was a good thing. When we returned to our town to get the car out of the car park we found the place locked up for the night, although the lights were still on!! Thankfully I knew where the exit was and the man was just about to turn all the lights off and leave so he kindly waited and let us get the car out!! Phew...TYL!!

Diana...yes we must be patient and that applies to the house, all seems to have gone quiet again! sigh!
Well done for being down another pound this week...I don't think my ticker will be so low on Wednesday!! Great that your clothes are fitting better, you've lost a sizable amount of pounds and that has to make a difference. I haven't really bought anything new but altered some skirts that were new last year...4" off the waist & hips!! lol.

Have a blessed w/e everyone.

Nelli, praying you get good news concerning your medical issues. God is emoticon

Marj, I saw your recent weigh in and it looks like you are back on track as you wanted emoticon

Janet, your right Father knows best I'm sure things will work out with the sale of your map. It sounds like you are getting some action on the house in Spain PTL!

I'm having a relaxing day at home. With my new schedule being so busy it has brought a new appreciation to just being here. SP has been good for me. I feel like I have more energy and am feeling better about the way I look. I'm still in my same size clothes, but they fit so much better.

Blessings to all,

Nellie that procedure sound much less invasive...hope you don't have too long to wait for the date.

The map reached £2,700 but Joseph had put a reserve on it of £3,000, so it remains unsold. I expect it will go into the next one but they're only held every 6 mths. Thank you for your prayers...the Lord knows best.
The weather here has finally stopped raining...great relief but the temps are dropping!! Brrr!!
I have a lovely day out in London planned tomorrow, 21st anniversary of our first date, can't wait to enjoy ourselves!! It's a 2hr train journey both ways so that will be relaxing too.

The GI doc has been wanting me to have it taken out already, but the surgeon was very hesitant to do more abdominal surgery on me. So I wasn't surprised when the GI doc let me know there is a new endoscopic surgery to deal with the type of stomach tumor I have. I got my nap after he discussed that with me and they did the test.

I am expecting to hear from them reasonably soon about the surgery.

I just put that on my prayer list.

Tomorrow I am going for an endoscopic ultrasound to see if a stomach tumor I have is the same size as previously or bigger. If it is bigger then I will have to have surgery sometime soon.

Since there is a 3 hour trip there, then the test, and then a 3 hour trip back I will be gone most of the day. At least my oldest daughter is doing the driving.

I'm asking for prayer for something a little different. Joseph has quite a valuable map that he is selling at a London auction house on Tuesday. Of course the Lord knows we need the money to help us so we're asking Him for the best possible price. If you could join us in prayer we'd be grateful. Thanks.

Weather report...had more heavy rain again...this is getting old news!!
My weigh in tomorrow, wonder what the scales will say this week? I've been pretty good this week I think, so maybe no big surprises!!
Bonfire night and I can hear all the rockets and fireworks going off...lots of fun I expect but glad I'm in the warm!! lol.

Marj, I have heard tell that we could have a bad winter coming...thankfully if and when we get snow here it doesn't stay around too long because we're on the coast.
I think it does help if we can go back to the beginning and good habits again to deal with unwanted pounds. I was talking with Joseph today and reminiscing about how I weighed 138lbs when I met him in 1992. I used to watch my weight and eat low fat back then and basically that's what's worked for me this time with Slimming World.
I know they say lemon water is good, I wish I could drink it but it gives me a sore stomach.

Janet - The wind and rain sound bad. I hope you're able to stay inside when it's that kind of weather. Seems that I read something recently about the current weather pattern saying that the UK was in for a very wintery winter this year. Don't remember the details, but do remember of thinking of you when I read it.

I did quite well yesterday - will try to keep it up for a few weeks. I'm trying to remember (and do) the things that I was doing at my beginning with SP. It seems that I was eating almost the same things as Marv does, but measured amounts of everything. Eating slow and drinking lots of lemon water. And of course, my 30 minute daily indoor walk. I seem to have gotten off schedule when we were so busy working on the house.

Gotta get the rest of the bills ready to send. TTYL

Hi everyone,
Had terrible raging winds and torrential rain last night!! Seems a very blustery time of year at the moment.
The Frittata I made turned out really well, so I ate 1/2 yesterday with salad and finished it up today. I really like some of the SW recipes that can be made veggie friendly.

Diana I'm doing Slimming World plan but having said that it all about healthy eating and is actually one that vegetarians can fit into too. So I don't have to track or count anything. But for years I did here on SP and was at goal for several years. Maybe I just got complacent but I know tracking is the answer to get to where you want to be!!
You have an excellent incentive to carry on losing some pounds. Thankfully we don't have Thanksgiving here in the UK and Joseph & I don't celebrate Christmas, as Jesus wasn't even born at that time. We will be invited to my daughters for a meal on that day so of course we're OK with that. But we don't decorate the house or have a tree etc.

Marj...do you think you're start to track again, I know it's time consuming. I have a small notebook and simply write down each meal and find that helps keep me on track.

Diana - Congratulations on losing 11 lbs in one month! emoticon

Accurate tracking of food eaten would probably help me too. I have a habit of an extra bite here and there throughout the day. I'm sure all those bites add up to WAY too many calories! Would sure like to get back down to my goal before the holiday activities get into full swing.

Janet,
I have lost a lot in October. In fact, more than ever before. I think the factors that played a part are tracking accurately on food and I am getting more exercise than ever before (100-240 minutes a day). For once life is actually conducive to weight loss. The holidays are coming and we plan to see relatives that we rarely see. I want to look my best so that will keep me motivated.

For those of you that are on maintenance,
Are you having to track food? Any tips you can provide will be helpful. Wishing all a happy and healthy holiday season.

LOL - I guess you could call us 'workaholics'! There's always so much to do though. The good thing about it is that we have lots of fun family times while we're working. Also, we don't always do so much on our own house, it's just that this was the year for getting that outside stuff done - on both houses.

As for the weight gain, I was surprised and pleased that it was only a couple of pounds. The disappointing thing was that I worked hard (I thought) at trying to get rid of them and instead there was a (very) slight increase.

I agree, the time spent with our kids is never long enough. Am so glad that you were able to move back home so you can spend lots of time with your kids and grandkids.

Saturday has been a fairly nice day. I'm looking to buy a real waterproof long coat...I got so wet yesterday!!
Visited Sarah for a while this afternoon, she needed a hug from her mum! Over worked and coping with 3 boys is very hard.
I saw a recipe for a Frittata on fb and plan to make that for my lunch tomorrow...Yum, love those!

Marj, when you go away you seem to work so hard! lol. I'd think your mom was very pleased with what must seem like a new home!!
I think a small gain of 2lbs or so is probably minimal when you can't do so much catering for yourselves and family are around too.
Glad you were able to catch up with Clint and family & Shane...I always missed my son and daughter so much when we were in Spain and short trips home were never long enough.
The team points are just some fun to collect so extra points for the teams we belong to. I have more than 5 so choose different ones every day to spread some points around.

Have a blessed day everyone.

Thank you Janet - we've been back for a bit over a week. The weather out there never did really settle down, lots of rainy, cold days, so we didn't finish painting the garage. Besides weather issues, we found that there was LOTS of scraping to do and some rotting wood that need to be replaced - which also too a lot of Marv's time. BUT all of my sibs (except 1 who lives too far away) were there for a few days, so we got lots done at Mom's house. In her living room we removed existing floor covering which was one layer each of carpet, carpet underlayment, linoleum and paint; sanded and finished it with 3 coats of poly-urethane. Also the walls got a fresh coat of paint and all furniture and knick knacks got a good cleaning. Also, my brother and Marv did some work in her bathroom and Marv did some work on her oil stove. Fortunately all of that was indoor stuff so the weather didn't matter.

We also took a day to go watch our grandson (Jared in 7th grade) play football. He did well - made one play that got lots of cheers! They finished the season undefeated! Then on our way home we spent a bit of time with Clint and family and also had an early birthday dinner with son Shane.

Still feel like I'm in 'catch up' mode since we got home. I'm off work the next five days, so plan on giving the house some TLC.

Weight-wise: It took a few days to get brave enough to step on the scale, but when I did, to my surprise, it was up only a bit over 2 pounds. Tomorrow is weigh-in day. . . .

Haven't investigated the team points yet. And I don't think I've joined any team goals here yet.

Well Diana, I saw your weigh in this week...you really did well and for the whole month!!
Glad you were there to watch you daughter play in the golf championship...and that she did so well.

Been an in day, weather was awful out there with so much rain!!
Should be going to my sister in-laws tomorrow to help her out by shifting some rubbish...joy!
I made some homemade salmon fishcakes for lunch today. Not exactly 'friendly' but Joseph requested them.
I'm praying we don't get any Halloween callers here...as Christians we don't hold with that at all.

Just got back from my trip last night. I did exercise (dog walking and some treadmill), but it wasn't near the amount done at home and we ate out all the time. The trip was fun for the entire family. We went to see our daughter play in the state championships for golf. Out of about 70 players she placed 17th which was good for her first time there. Thanks for the heads up on the team points I never noticed them before.

That makes sense Nellie...

Welcome back Marj...hope you had a good journey home again.

We've had a huge storm here in the UK...
We had water running down the bedroom wall last night...penetrating from the outside of course from the hard rain and winds. Roofer came this afternoon...
There didn't look to be too much damage in my town but further west and London way seemed a mess with fallen trees etc. I spoke to my sister earlier and she saw a lot of trees down in the countryside where she drives to work. Thankfully she stayed safe.

Are we all using the TEAM BONUS POINTS every day...they are there on our Start page to be used!! I'm getting used to the changes and quite like them.

It's been a shopping day for me, several supermarkets and a quick trip to town this afternoon to get my boots repaired. Can't do with out them with all the rain.

Nellie...I do remember that you don't let the time change interfere with your routine. I'm afraid I just sleep until I feel ready to get up or an appointment has me getting up at a certain hour. Maybe too many years of living the manana lifestyle!! lol.

Diana, well done you for all that extra walking exercise. I have been watching your weight loss progress and am amazed at well you're getting those pounds off. Keep it up while you're away!!

Hi Everyone,

It’s been a busy week for me. My golfer is trying to raise her endurance by walking 18 holes instead of 9. Needless to say I will have bonus fitness minutes (four hours of walking just today) this week and this should work improve my chances for a good weigh in. Unfortunately, it has left me little time at home or at the computer. I have had to bring food with me so I won’t go crazy eating the wrong things. I will be out of town soon and will probably have to update my SP results when I return.

Blessings to all,
Diana

I wish that the clocks didn't have to change and would just stay on Standard time. However, I am tricky. Now on Daylight "savings" time, I get up at 6:15 and take a nap mid morning. When the change goes to Standard time I will get up at 5:15 and also take a nap. I read somewhere that many senior citizens die shortly after the time changes, so I am outwitting that trend!

We are so quiet on here...wonder where everyone is?

Our clocks fall backwards this w/e...I don't mind that change over the Spring one.

Thanks Diana for the congrats. I shall still be attending my slimming world group weekly so will still be weighing in and posting on our thread too. I have a 3lbs up or down leeway to attend and not pay any fee. I don't plan on changing my eating too much so God willing shall do well...this time!! lol.
It certainly feels tiresome to know that I've shifted those same pounds a few times but my downfall is always chocolate...!! Gotta steer clear of it...!!!

My Kindle was a birthday gift. I mostly download free books and just see it as more convenient than loads of books everywhere.
I have a tablet too...another present from my son & daughter...but have to say I still prefer my laptop. Tablets do have their limitations in comparison...just my opinion.

Sunny day here. Had a hospital appointment in the sleep clinic. Declared that I am a shallow breather but nothing to be concerned out. Hopefully that is good news for Joseph! lol.

We've given thought to the Kindle or Nook and never quite made the jump. My hubby is an avid reader . . . seems he has a new book to read or re-read every other day. We're about ready to jump to a Surface tablet or other Windows 8 product. I suspect with the way he reads, this is likely to be quite the financial investment.

I'm on the road again and passed the peak of fall colors in Wisconsin. Looking forward to lots of green, warm temps, and beautiful flowers by the time I reach my holiday destination. Working on my car regimen of exercises as a passenger.

Have a great weekend! Looking forward to meeting and exceeding my 8-week challenge goals. I'm soo overdue for a healthy habits streak. Happy, happy.

I've been busy altering 2 skirts...no wonder they didn't fit me anymore...4" needed to come off the waist and some off the hips of course!! lol.
Our weather is much colder today and I think we have seen the end of our summer weather down here in the south.

Anyone counted how many weeks until the end of the year...not many!!

Thanks Diana...yes only 1 more pound to go! Well actually I'm already there on my own scale but it's the SW ones that count for my ticker.

You have done so well on that programme...great progress for 14 day! Congrats on getting an exercise bike...I entered it into a 'link' box so we can just click on the link. Looks a very nice one.

Janet you are just emoticon off those pounds. One more pound to goal! emoticon

I just finished up my Jillian Michaels Jumpstart Your Weightloss program 14 day Cleanse and Burn kit yesterday so we will see how I do without the extra help. I bought myself a birthday present that has really helped me get exercise on those days when I can't get out. It's a recumbent exercise bike. I love it. It's almost as easy and sitting on the couch emoticon . Check out this picture of my bike http://www.walmart.com/ip/Excercise-Bikes/

Our sunshine is still here so I shall be weighing in in a summer dress again tomorrow!! I hope it lasts for next week too!! lol
Had another brisk walk in the park this afternoon and then rang my SW buddy to see how she'd done this week...she's no sure but she often says that, so we shall see!

Diana...hate to say that this is the 3rd time I'll be losing this 21lbs!! Back in 2003, 2007 and again 2013! Oh well I did maintain in between pretty well.
This latest quest began 5th June so yes I have worked very hard and am almost there. Because I'm back living in the UK now I decided to attend a Slimming World local class and it has certainly worked for me.

emoticon on being another 3lbs down this week...you are moving very quickly through your pounds too!!

Marj,
It seems so strange to hear about the kind of weather you describe. I live in the desert and it is finally getting cooler (low nineties high eighties). How blessed you are to play an instrument for God.

Janet,
I have a feeling you will do good on your weigh in. You are so close to reaching your goal! I really looks like you have lost the weight pretty fast.

Made it to SD last evening. Had some bad roads the last 30 miles - interstate was closed - but we knew the back way, so we made it OK. Rapid City and other places in the Black Hills got up to 30+ inches of wet heavy stuff and trees still have leaves, so lots of branches broken = electric lines. down, so many are still without power. Fortunately for us, that is about 100 miles further west from here, so we got about 6-8 inches only. We're hoping that all will be up and running by tomorrow AM - we have to make a run to Rapid City to get a hot water heater first thing in the morning.

Church attendance was way down this morning - bad roads for most of the attendees. The pianist thought it best to not try to come, so I did the organ w/o piano accompaniment. It worked fine, but is much more fun when we can play together. Lord willing, we will be able to do that the next 2 Sundays.

That's all for now.
