I tried it this morning and I definitely was going faster. So much so that my head kicked in and I was worried about fatiguing myself so I started walking after 10 minutes. I ended up finishing my 2 miles just under 25 minutes, but I must have walked at least 5 of those minutes. I'm looking forward to Friday when I can try it again and see if I can push through my mental block and do the full two miles with good form, and see where I finish.

That's what I really need to work on. It was odd that just focusing on my form made me speed up. It felt like the only way to slow down was to compromise my form a bit.
I'm still new, with experience and more advice from you folks, I'm sure I'll figure it out.
All the tips and advice are appreciated!

Hi, Miclwilde:

Maybe you're starting out too fast? See what happens with your form when you try to keep your pace as consistent as possible, and a bit slower.

I'm not completely sure myself. I ran today and I worked on good posture and where my feet were landing. I must admit that the first three intervals I ran that way were the fastest I ever done. I wasn't trying to be fast or cover that much ground, it just happened.
By the fourth interval I had to slow myself down. I was getting really fatigued. It was strange that just putting myself in a certain position would speed me up so much. In time I think I'll be able to run that way longer and longer.

After watching that, I get the idea, I'm just not sure how to put it into action.

Thanks for sharing.

I went from heel-toe to mid-foot strike, myself. Took a while.

When I began, I was told to land on my heels. I did. I sure wish I hadn't.

Form is so important, especially when you are first starting. Let's make good habits and make our runs more enjoyable / doable.
