I am also glad that it was nothing serious with the MRI. But as far as mine goes, I wonder. I am still (more then a year later) having almost daily headaches. In fact, yesterday afternoon I finally broke down and went to the Emergency Room. I had had a REALLY BAD headache since Sunday, 4 straight days. It was blurring my vision, making me sick to my stomach, feel dizzy/light headed....it was awful. emoticon The ER Doc said that I had a migraine headache AND a very infected sinus infection. He said that I had such a bad headache that I could not tell that I had a sinus infection, and the sinus infection was so bad that it was making my headache worse. Can you imagine that? I often get headaches when I have a sinus infection, but I can tell that I have a sinus infection and the headache is not so bad that I would do just about anything to get rid of the pain, which is the point that I was at when I walked into the ER yesterday!! emoticon The Doc gave me a shot of Imatrex for the migraine headache, another shot of phenagrhen (probably not right spelling) for vomiting from the pain medication and a prescription for 2 weeks of amoxicillan. Doc gave me strict instructions to go home & go to bed in a dark room. Which I did. I slept from 2 in the afternoon till 8 last night. Got up just long enough to get my disabled hubby into bed. Then I again slept till 9 this morning. emoticon But now, I am very happy to say that there is no more headache. emoticon emoticon But now my hips hurt from laying in bed for so long. My Fibro & lower back problems do not like me being in bed for very long. But I am hoping that after being up for a little bit and taking pain meds for the Fibro, that will be feeling better too. emoticon I can tell you that a shot of Imatrex & Phengren REALLY made me feel weak & tired, even more then my Fibro/CFS does. I am hoping that the extra weakness & tiredness will wear off by the end of the day.

Well I will get off of my soap box now. Sorry to have rambled on for so long. Guess I needed someone to vent to. emoticon

Hope you ALL have a wonderful Friday and relaxing weekend. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Love to all.

Her MRI turned out normal. What spooked everyone was that her doctor wanted an immediate consultation with her. Turns out he was leaving on vacation and wanted to turn her care over to another doctor regarding the pneumonia. I am guessing the headache was related to the coughing, dehydration and general viral illness she is going through. Glad it was nothing serious.

Glad you are getting a lot out of OA. I certainly did with that first class. It does make you think.

Cathy, thanks so much for the input on OA. Right now I am in my 3rd week of the 12 Step program. It is requiring a lot of insight & soul searching on my part. Which, hopefully in the end, will be a good thing. We actually have a "talker" in our group too. He does not monopolize the entire hour, but I can tell that he sure would like to do so.

How did step daughters MRI turn out? I have been living with headaches for about 10 years now. But the past year or so, they have begun to get more severe and last longer. Had an MRI done the beginning of last year. Dr. said that it looked "pretty much" normal, and the he felt that I was dealing with migraines. So far all the migraine medication I have tried has either not worked at all, or made me sick to my stomach & so dizzy that I can't function. I hope your daughter will do better then what I have with my headaches. Blessings to you both.

It really depends on the group. I had such a good experience with the first OA group I joined.

The second group had a member who talked non-stop about every bad thing that happened to her three straight sessions with no monitoring by the leader. I quit. The purpose was to learn the 12 step program not minister this one person. She needed a counselor.

So go and see if the group is right for you. The 12 step program is very nice and quite helpful if the dynamics of the other members gel with you.

Thank you so much for your input on OA. Yes, it is still free. Just out time/gas.

Many years ago in the 60's I belonged to Overeaters'. For me, at that time it did nothing. Things change over the years and so do people. So, it may or may not for you.

I guess it' still free, so, you wouldn't lose anything except maybe your time.

Blessings,
Janet

Has anyone been or know anyone who has been part of a Overeaters Anonymous group? Does anybody know how successful that OA can be? I am just wondering if it is something that might help me. I feel that I am an overeater, and I understand that it is a disease. What are your all thoughts?
