I liked Shockey when he first came on the team, he actually backed up his talk. Now he's always hurt and it is hard to have faith in his abilities on the field when he hasn't played a lot over the last few years. I hope things get better for him someday.

I too liked Shockey and has his jersey but now I think he's a disease to any team he's on. He's got a huge opinion of himself and let's face it - he's NOT all that. Glad the Giants got rid of him.

If they did, it was extremely well hidden. Usually those conflicts get out, at least to a point. But who knows. From everything I read, Coughlin had a HUGE change of attitude last season, all for the better. He was a coach who had totally lost the players and somehow he managed to do a complete turn-around and win their trust and affection back, not to mention the title!

It's possible that there was a conflict. I also think it had to kill him to WATCH his team win and not be a part of it. Not to mention ego bruising that they did so well without him.

Whatever it is, I hope he's ok and can get back to the level of playing he used to be at. He's so talented and I love watching him.

Until last season i always liked him too (his was the first official jersey i got) - he had a good 'swagger' and he was a doer not just all mouth on the field... do you think he and Coughlin just had a personality conflict?

I hope he's ok. Despite the whining he did, I'm still a huge fan of his and miss him on the Giants. Even though they have done very well without him and clearly don't need him as much as he may need them.

Have you seen this report from Yahoo Sports? The headline reads "Shockey thinks he might be injured again". We already have enough injuries so its good that he moved over to the Saints but he's had a couple of rough seasons - i thought it was just because he and T.C. didn't get along that he wanted out of the Giants but i was afraid he was going to try and 'get even' with us by having record breaking season... what do you think is going on with him? Is he not taking training seriously enough (i remember when he was with Big Blue he trained in Miami instead of the optional mini camps) did he get 'too big for his britches' (as my mom would say)?

When he was up in a box drinking during the SuperBowl instead of being down with the team i lost a lot of respect for him, i just wanted to hear what everyone else thought about the matter.
