LINDA: They did that a while back I know because some people didn't know how to turn them off THEMSELVES so they did it lol. I had been receiving the stats weekly but I turned them off myself. Glad you figured it all out! emoticon

I'm planning on enjoying the last weeks I'll be here in CA. Walking every chance I get BUT making sure to rest. Pounding that pavement is hard on our bodies! For 2 months straight I didn't really have a rest day. Now I rest on Sunday and add cardio dance and several days and don't walk outside Wednesdays. emoticon

Enjoy your time back at work Linda. It can be a chore getting back into the routine again. But then you'll get back into that flow. Almost like when you miss working out for a week or two then you slowly get back into it and then you get that momentum back. The rhythm of success starts all over again! emoticon

That sounds like fun. Crowds can deter you. My sister took me to a garlic festival and it was crowded but when I heard an Elvis impersonator I relaxed. lol Very hot too. I'm going to look for those cukes. This grocery where I shop sells a lot of organic freggies. Bought some nectarines that are WONDERFUL! Back in TX frozen was best for me. I don't like wasting food. Walmart ha great bargains on the bigger bags too.

Fall is a great time to walk for me ad Spring. Winter I have to bundle up head to toe unless we're having a heatwave. lol emoticon

Hey Deb! Sounds yum! Mini cukes are just the small cucumbers that are used to make pickles.
They aren't mushy like the big ones,but are really crisp.Right now they are having "Apple Festival"here,but I don't usually go anymore because it is so crowded now. Besides,I prefer
my apples in pie!!! Sigh...I mostly use frozen myself,except at this time of year,because it is plentiful &
cheap.Love summer & fall.

Linda I'm getting the fruits. My sister buys LOTS of that lol I get to the very nice grocery store nearby. It has a lot of items you would see in one section of a regular grocery store. The fruits I've tasted here are juicy and sweet. Sometimes I miss a good batch here and there but love sweet strawberries I've eaten. My sister buys cherries and I was leery at first but Lord mercy they were so good. I use frozen a lot when it comes to vegetables. It's hard to keep a lot of the fresh but we do eat it up and let it spoil.

You named some fruit I've never heard of like the mini cukes? Sounds great. I love zucchini too. I don't need salt on any of it either. Just raw. Baby carrots! I'm getting hungry now! lol

CA has wonderful produce! Here in NC we have a lot of local farmers markets & produce stands.I stopped by one today and got heirloom tomatoes (my favorite),zucchini,mini cukes,
corn,apples,and blackberries(my other favorite)! Have fun with it-enjoy the bounty!

It's great to be able to choose what you want to do next Linda! And I'm so BLESSED and motivated by you and ALL you do too! emoticon

I'm going to focus on eating at least 3 vegetables per day and 2 fruits or more. Haven't been doing that. It feels good when I do and I want to keep my body HAPPY!!! Also the sodium has to stay down. Since I've been here in CA it's soaring and I don't even LIKE salt like that! BUT with God I can do anything! emoticon

Life is GOOD and I owe it ALL to God Who led me to this great site filled with wonderful people who are true motivators!!!

A lot of times I'm tempted to give in to feeling sorry for myself. BUT I stop in midstream and SMILE! Then I make myself LAUGH. I write poetry and books(not published yet). So the other day I was visualizing a chapter in my book. I do this for all my chapters just like God tells us to SEE before it's there. I started cracking up!!! I was having a little quiet time and I tell you...that was truly some GREAT medicine. So LAUGH too when you want to have a pitty party. God has NOT left us without a way out of it!

Seems like I keep starting over...I get excited,get going on my exercise (which I actually love)
then some little health issue pops in,I get frustrated and eating goes away too..need to get it
back.It feels selfish to ask,but since we are to pray in everything-I'm asking that we all pray

Hello you all!
I'm enjoying the Summer visiting my sister in Bay Area in CA. It's a cooler climate and I can walk and not feel like I'm about to pass out like in TX. lol

Building up my strength and stamina as I press in to getting over my 10000 steps per day and right now I'm averaging 12000+!!! Praise the Lord! I'm SO happy!

Hi all! Summer is here-the leaves are green,the sky is blue,the sun is shining-I'm feeling like it's time for renewal! Went back to Zumba class yesterday. Walked my dog both days. Trying to clean out
things and make changes. Realizing it's not just the weight bringing me down,but I need declutter on

I cannot wait to get back in getting started back on treadmills and stationary bikes at a local hospital in their cardiac rehab area. Its conditioning and $12.00 a month. Dad is going to be in the same area but for pulmonary rehab for his COPD. His is going to be $25.00 a month. I am hoping to get a lot more weight off before next month when my youngest niece gets married.

She no longer lives with me so I can't motivate her & she can't motivate me. When I would work out so would she & vice versa. Now that she is married & has a small child her responsibilities have take a shift but I have reached out as much as I can. I don't want her to feel like I am against her so I have to play both good & bad cop. emoticon She liked it did it often but now its 3 months later & she's got thing. I like it when I have done it on demand.

Yesterday I signed up for SP's NEW YOU BOOTCAMP, and I thought that that would be a great challenge for all of us to start off the new year with SP as a team.

What do you guys think? Plus, maybe someone in our team will win a prize!!!

I can put up a new post under our challenges forum and those who decide to do it can chat about the daily mini-challenges and workouts.

Well, let me know! I'm excited about it becuase I can use some motivation and ideas.

*Oh, and I just got Jullian Michels: 30 Day Shred from Netflix today. I watched the level one just to get an idea before I start and to see what equipment I'd need. & all I can say from looking at it is emoticon but I'll see about adding it.

*What else is going on for me...my mom's birthday is tomorrow! I'mthinking about going back to school sometime next year. I'm looking at counseling...we'll see, I'm researching now...
Oh and lastly (is that even a word?), I've gained an even higher all time high, I weigh 210 lbs. Oh well, the year 2009 is surely to bring some greater changes!!

Question:

I was MSN yesterday & they were talking about carbs that you should be eating during the day versus eating them in the evening, has anyone ever heard of that before? I normally like to have my fruits & sweets during the day but they were talking about more complex carbs.

I love Cathe but I was always modify with her but she is my answer to PX90. I say try 20 minutes to get accumulated but then do your regular workout. She does kick my fitness level up 3 notches!!

Today was the first time I gave Cathe F. a try. I worked out for about 40 min. I was always intimidated by her workouts because of the intensity and the equipment she uses that I don't have yet.I still had to modify it to my level today but I know I'll be able to keep up at her level in about 6 months! emoticon

Well, we have another fire. This time it's a lot closer. I'm live in Santa Barbara, CA and am less than 3 miles below the fire (as of now, it's still not contained yet. so it keeps getting closer). I pray that no more homes or people get burned, and that I don't have to evacuate. But I'm doing some packing up. I also have friends who have had to leave their homes.

My asthma & breathing has been effected, but I'm doing okay. I can see the fire from my home, that's how close it is. The helicopters keep flying over my roof and I don't know if I'll get any or much sleep.

My parents want me to just leave and drive north to get a hotel. Or that at least have my BF come over and stay with me. I think he's on his way...

Well, I pray that things work out and get contained REAL SOON!!! And I'll keep the t.v. on Channel 3 News, unless the power goes out again. And I'll do like they say; just be prepared to evacuate.

Not sure if I'll get to write tomorrow but I'll try! It will keep me calm, thinking about writing on SP again! There goes another helicopter!

You know I'm always looking for motivation.
Well anyway, I've ordered a shipment of HMR shakes, entrees and support material. It's sort of like Nutrisystem or Medifast. I will also add 5 serving of Fruit & veggies of course. I'll begin some time this week, due to arrive on Wednesday.

I need that boost to help with my weight loss and I hope this is it! So I'll keep you all updated. Hopefully it will help me get back on track. And who know by the Challenge deadline I'll actually be at my goal weight of 198 and maintaining it!

I hope everyone is well today. Is anyone off of work for Verterans Day?

PFEIF130 - I'm sure you'll look back soon and say, "Wow, I've been committed!" Just look at how you just celebrated your 1 year Spark Anniversary & you're maintaining your weight.

Mrs P. That's one that we all ask ourselves on a daily basis & I think that's where we start. We have to adjust all the time to different things & why is being healthier any different? So I don't eat a big breakfast so that I can give myself something sweet for a snack. Its just saving calories for something else. I guess kinda like the points that they give for weight watchers. I am changing every week to see what will work for me & you should do the same.

Well first I want to say that I hope everyone has a safe weekend! I'm not into celebrating Halloween or The Day of the Dead, but I know others are. So have a good and safe time!

So as for me...I was wondering, how do you start over,or again or just do better, healthier things in your life? I need to find what will work for me. It's hard when you have medicine changing and your bodychanging with it. When your mind wants something different than your body.

Well, that's where I am right now, trying to figure it all out and do it the right way for me. Just had to vent a bit & I thought this team would be the best place to share!

Beautiful, you take it light & come back to us as soon as you can. I have been standing still trying find some momentum but its been HARD!! I have found a couple of people roll with but none like my peeps!!!

I miss you all too. I have been having IP problems which should be finished very soon. I also am healed from that toe problem. Thank the Lord!!! I have gained some weight but I know it will come off again. I'll be back for good soon team. I really miss you and there are soooooo many changes going on here. Many blessings to all!!!

WOW I've been so far away from SP. I usually just stop by and huddle on this team only, but I even missed some days here this week.

My Cardiologist took me off of 3 pills and told me to take them again if I had swelling... Well, I've had swelling, hypertention, sore muscles, weight gain (up to 205 lbs for the 1st time today), I missed my Well-Fit training on Thursday and I'm having dizziness & fatigue. So today I went back on the pills emoticon

I know it's for the best, but it still sucks.

So let's see how things go this week.

I'm also thinking about doing the Master Cleanse AKA The Lemonade Diet (in a week or so, Oct. 26th).

We'll see how that goes, I purchased the Maple Syrup & some lemons yesterday.

Well, I hope all is well with everyone. I sure do miss some of our members that used to write on the boards.

You know my co-worker's club does classes too & 9 times out of 10 she has taken it. She helps me kick it in to high gear seeing that she is 73 years young!! She keeps impressing me but I got youth on my side right?! I can't even tell! emoticon On my way home to complete Cathe's Boot Camp!

You never know, you might actually find it relaxing!

I'm actually at the gym right now. I finished my Well-Fit portion, now my head hurts & my lower back is killing me. I think I might order something from the cafe and then get in the jacuzzi. I want to stay around because there's a "Hip Brazil Brazillian" dance class @ 4pm emoticon &
I want to try it out, since it's only once a month! I don't know if I'll hang but I'll try.

I also have choir tonight @ 630pm so I should take it easy!

Well my husband wants to take me out to see the movie "Fireproof" & I'm just not into a movie right now. I know its for the sole purpose of helping & keeping our marriage relationship tight but we'll see. That's how it is with books, some times I feel like knowledge & some times I don't. I made myself get up yesterday & do Cathe's boot camp for 45mins & then did some boxing with 5lbs weights. emoticon My emoticon and body are aching so badly right now I can't even tell you!! I also did some emoticon & stretching to help with today. I had to get up about 2am cause I was hungry so I ate half of a PB&J with a couple of swigs of 1%milk. My emoticon Shadow went down to the kitchen with me to help with that, so he got an end piece with plenty of peanut butter & a swig of milk in his bowl. With the emoticon and cooler temps it just makes me sleepy.

Never heard of Garrett's Popcorn. Sounds good though!
Aside from the Bee Movie, I'm hoping to see Spike Lee's new movie this week sometime. Tyler Perry's movie isn't even playing in my town anymore, but that's another story!

How's everyone today? I havn't exercised since Fiday "(walking) so I'm overdue. I didn't make it to the gym Monday & havn't done a FitTV show yet. But today I have my WEll-Fit Program so I'll be at the gym emoticon doing some strength training and cardio! I also have choir, so that's a belly workout too! emoticon

I did see Tyler Perry's movie, it was alright though. I normally bring my own bottled water & red vines. If my husband who is sooo fit, my sons who are overactive always get the bundle of popcorn, nachos & soda. Man, what do they put in that movie popcorn that you just can't resist it!! That and Garrett's (best popcorn, even Halle Berry loves it) from Chicago, I have to just walk away from them. emoticon

Has anyone been to the movies lately?
There are a few out right now that I would like to see. And then I want to see "The Secret Life of Bees" coming out on the 17th.

So yesterday I did an evening Nia class! It was really nice and I know that I got a workout!!!
Today was my Well-Fit class, nice. I did some shopping @ the market & I'm just getting back from choir rehersal... I'm pooped!

Fridays are movie nights @ the Athletic Club, tomorrow is "Smart People" so I might go to workout a little before and then stay for the movie.
