Every fall my mom would take me and my grandpa (her father) and whoever else wanted to go for a ride in the country. We would search for bittersweet to cut along the side of the rode. We also looked for queen Anne's Lace, thistle and cattails. We almost always took the same route and it went by an apple orchard where we always bought several bushels of apples. I looked forward to that trip every year!!
Don't let yesterday use up too much of today.
My mom made very good pumpkin seeds. My dad would help my sister and I carve the pumpkins that we got at the Circleville Pumpkin Show. My mom would clean then fry the seeds in real butter and salt them. It was one of the few times we were allowed to eat in the living room while watching TV.
