Hey,

What I find really good is making sure that I get in about 40 minutes of walking every day. Usually to and from campus. Usually it helps to have a friend to walk or work out with, that's what helps to keep me motivated. I understand about finding appropriate cardio, my knees are really bad so running can be problematic. I recently signed up for a dance class with one of my friends and have found that it's really fun and because I'm committed both financially and to my friend I'm unlikely to skip a class. Also it's not too bad on my knees.

Anyway I hope you're finding something that works for you, and I hope maybe this may help!

Maybe try slowing your pace and working more on endurance first. You can always speed up. Also as a side note, it seems to me that 30 day shred works your muscles and you definitely loss inches and some fat % but weight loss itself isn't as high comparatively.

I always get bored on the elliptical and/or working in a gym-like setting which is the reason I always seem to have to fight myself to go. So I started the couch to 5K program running outside and I seem to have lost substantially more weight in a shorter period of time than doing the shred and using the elliptical.

At first I had to force myself out of bed at 5:30am (45 minutes earlier than usual) but now I find myself waking up a bit earlier and looking forward to running. Cold/rainy weather? It's fabulous to run in! It's cool and wet so it makes you want to keep going in order to stay warm. Plus I'm not nearly as self-conscious running in the dark outside because there's hardly anyone out and about at that time.

Wow - sorry - long story short: find what you like/love to do and do it. It'll be that much easier to succeed. AND Track those sneaky little calories.

Good luck!

Hey everyone! I am 19 and a Sophomore in college. I played sports all through high school, was fit but still a bit on the heavy side. Now that I'm at school I can't find the motivation to work out every day, or at least 3-5 times. I have been doing well lately, at least 2-3 times a week, but its the cardio that is killing me. With weak ankles from 10 years of soccer, running is a bit hard. I usually do 20mins in the elliptical at a fierce pace, but I'm not seeing much results. Just purchased Jillian Michael's 30 day shred, should be here in a week or so. Just need to find some motivation to be thin! I start observing at high schools next semester, *I'm a Math Ed Major* and I want to be down to at least my goal weight!

Melissa
