Maintenance can be confusing. You will probably be able to enjy "forbidden" foods in moderation without doing any damage -- but for me moderation can be a very hard lesson! I just need to try different things, find new goals, and always stay vigilant!

I'm puzzling through how to make sense of eating sensibly in the long run. I've done a fine job of losing weight and I'm now in the ball park of where I want to be. And with that success I seem to be developing somewhat of a crazy mindset -- being far more tempted to eat stuff (and mostly quantities of stuff) than I was when I was doggedly losing weight. So how do you make sense of shifting from the somewhat rigidity and the excitement of losing weight to the long term just living life and staying at a constant weight?
I need advice.

I have never known anyone to mid night snack. Huh.

Yesterday turned out pretty good for me. SO went to town on an errand, the sun came out (don't think there is a connection there) and I proceeded to weed the front garden. Got lots done and went to bed early and tired.

I see this isn't an active thread, but I could do with some reflecting on how I did yesterday - I was unmotivated and once I got moving I had to replan what I was going to do. I did some errands and despite my decision not to buy candy, I bought and ate a Mounds bar. While still doing errands at another store, I saw a bag of Riesens, my favorite, I picked up a bag and my husband leaned over and said, "This is your conscience speaking, you don't need that." I replied with a thank you and put it back. Success!!

I exercised, ran 4 miles and walked 1. Stayed within my calorie range. Unfortunately, I ended up having a snack attack in the middle of the night. I am now aware I really need to work on mid-night snacking.

So, despite a couple of slips up, I feel I did great yesterday.

I had a good day yesterday, staying within my calorie/nutrient ranges, snacking limited to healthy ones, and even though I had a busy schedule managed to fit in a quick 2-mile run.

I was busy with paper shuffling most of the day, then decided to read and take a nap. Finally after supper I hauled my hiney outside to do a "practice" 5K. The weather was perfect and I was able to run the entire 3.2 miles at a pace that was comfortable and that I am satisfied with. (I'm not out to win the race, just run the entire way.)

I did better yesterday. I tracked every bite of food [this is key for me], did a good cardio workout and strength training. I didn't really feel like it at the time, but I felt better afterwards.

I think I did very well on yesterday. My meals were balanced. I don't have exercise scheduled for Sunday but I did get in some abs exercises and did some walking.

I did OK on Friday and Saturday with both eating and exercising. I don't usually have much time to eat when I am away from the house, so that helps me during that time, but I have been known to make up for it once I get home in the evening.

I did really well at the staff BBQ. I stayed away from the bugers, hotdogs, chips and cake. I stuck to the veggie tray and ate the lunch I'd brought from home. Then I came home and blew it with a couple of sandwiches. sigh. Fall seven times - stand up eight. I'll try to do better today.

I didn't do so well yesterday (or the day before). After doing so amazingly well with SP for a year, I've really been struggling lately. I know it's stress related, and I know what I need to do, but knowing is not doing. I'm going to have to dig deep this time to get back on track.

Hi all!
I had a pretty good day yesterday. We took our car to get an exhaust system and air conditioner charge. It is a used 2nd car we got last week and it is all done now.
I also did well with eating and got a little exercise in.
Welcome to you new members! I hope your shoulders is mending well Jeri. I know you miss your running.

Have a great day today!

I usually don't have trouble in the am either, it is afternoon/dinner/snack that gets me usually. I did really good today - kind of surprised that I kept my calories down. Did my 2 mile run/walk and weights too. If I didn't have to work during the school year this would be a breeze!

Yesterday I did well as far as calories go. I even managed to walk .7 miles. It's not like my usual minimum 5 mile run, but anything I can get this soon post-op is a big Yay for me.
