Spoke too soon. Last night was not good. I was up 2x to use the bathroom (even though I stop drinking right after dinner) and Morgan, my dog got me up twice to ask for a treat!

My little Shih Tzu did the funniest thing the other night. I usually wake up to use the bathroom around 3:30 every morning. I go, then get right back in bed. For whatever reason, the other night, I didn't wake up, which is unusual. A few minutes after 3:30, she came and digging at the covers and woke me. I thought maybe she needed to go outside, but when I left the bedroom, she led me to the bathroom, then right back to bed! Funny little girl:)

I don't seem to be able to manage / control sleep in the same way as nutrition and activity. I fall asleep reasonably quickly but have to get up in the night (kidney problems following ill health) then can't get back off again straight away. I drop back into a deep sleep eventually but am then very tired when the alarm goes off. I suspect that dark mornings encourage a hibernating response that doesn't help.

I had been doing quite well, but not sleeping again. I think I have too much going on and hate wasting the time sleeping. I'm going to go to bed earlier tonight with a good book. Hopefully, I'll sleep better. Since Thanksgiving, I've averaged 4 to 5 hours a night.

Fell asleep on the love seat during" House", woke up went to bed and got up once at about 4:44, used the bathroom, went back to bed and sleep and woke up again between 7:00 and 7:30.

After 4 days of so much fresh air at Panama City Beach, and all the activities we engaged in, I was totally ready for some serious sleep. I slept very well last night(nine hours). emoticon

I always seem to sleep like a rock -- yet about 1:00 the next afternoon I get soooo sleepy. Had blood drawn yesterday at my physical to check for hemoglobin and thyroid, but have had this tiredness/lack of energy problem my entire life and they can never figure out why. I wonder if I have a sleep disorder? I can get up in the morning after 8 hours' sleep, but if I lay down and close my eyes 30 minutes later I will go to sleep -- no matter what time of day or how many hours of sleep I get. Maybe I'm just a lazybones ................

I slept soooooo good last night. I was tired from a long, hectic week, and it was so good to be in my own bed and have some of the worries lifted off my mind. I didn't set my alarm and slept in until about 8.

Great Nancy I hope that little suggestion helps with your nails. I am a germ a phobe..lol, so I can understand about the pen.

I also really took extra care of my hands while I was trying to quit biting. I pushed my cuticles back everyday, put hand cream on them and the clear nail polish. I did this first thing every morning with my coffee. If you can pledge to yourself to do it everyday for 2 weeks you will really notice a difference and once your notice then it's hard to bite them. Every day tell your self that you can bite them tomorrow...lol. Take it day by day. By 2 weeks they should be better looking and starting to grown out. I really bit mine till there was nothing there, so there is hope for you...lol. I never thought I would let mine grow.

Von, that's a wonderful idea about the bracelet. I'm going to find one this weekend!

I've chewed my nails since I can remember. But I picked up a prescription for Jim earlier this week and had to use the pen at the pharmacy to sign the screen that takes debits, etc. They have you sign on the screen now, so I can't use my own pen. I got in the car and realized I was biting my nails after touching that pen in a pharmacy - yuck! So, I've decided to quit, if I can.

I tried the nail polish and actually kept chewing on it, but I'm going to try again.

Slept ok last night. I was very tired, but did drink coffee after lunch, so it affected my sleep.

I'm so glad to hear you're sleeping better Nancy. I remember you having many sleepless nights. Mine is due to Kota and his allergies. But last night was a good night.

On your status today I saw you asking for advice on nail biting. I was a nail biter since I was a child way into my late 20's. My solution was a beautiful bracelet. I looked at the bracelet and thought how much nicer it would look with long nails. So every morning with my coffee I would put one coat of clear nail polish on. I found I didn't want to bite them with nail polish on. And also after putting the polish on everyday they were thick and didn't feel the same as the ones I was biting before..lol. I was also a picker and would tear off my nails if I had a rough spot. This really helped me. But if I don't have nail polish on I still notice I will pick at them. So I hope this helps.

I'm doing better on the sleep department Von. I'm hoping my sleep problems are over.

I didn't sleep well last night. Morgan woke me up at 3:30 to go to the bathroom. I don't know why - I took her out at 9 last night and she went. But after being outside in the cold air, I couldn't get back to sleep.

Otherwise, I've been doing better. Hope that continues!

Lousy. I was up several times during the night, then DH had to get up at 4:00am to catch a 6:00 flight. That was it for sleeping for me. I'm off to bed early tonight - I'm beat. emoticon
