for something like that you may be better off w/ bars, and maybe nuts, dried fruit, trail mix type of snacks. Something compact, that doesn't take up much room, and doesn't need refrigeration.

Thanks for the ideas! I have a trip planned for the middle of June, and I've been wondering how I'm going to survive the fast food places my boss is going to want to hit. The trip is going to be from Wednesday morning and we won't be back until Friday night. The only problem I may have is how to take my snacks with me on the flight there and back.

Way to plan ahead! I have found that to be a key to my successful days as well. I take my meal and snacks to work each day so the snack machine in the lounge does not call my name!

That's so smart! I wish I had thought of that when I had to take my BF to the hospital for his shoulder surgery. I ended up at the mercy of the cafeteria, and it wasn't what I would have picked if I had more choices.

Great planning!

Great way to plan ahead!!!

Whenever I leave for an extended period of time I bring a snack of some sort!!! In fact, when DH asks how long I'll be gone...sometime I tell him, I'll be back soon...I'm not taking food...he knows that means I'll be back in less than 3 hours!!! LOL!!!

Tomorrow I have to take my Dad to the hospital for a procedure. We'll be there most of the day, maybe even into the evening. So, I got to thinking, "WHAT am I going to do for meals?"

There's a cafeteria at the hospital, but other than the salad bar, the healthy options are sadly lacking. And even if we are back home at my parents' for dinner, the food choices may not work for me.

So, I sat down with my food tracker, and came up with a plan. I will bring food for lunch, dinner, and snacks. I called the hospital to make sure they have a microwave I can use (they do). I will get salad and some deli turkey from there, and everything else I will bring with me.

Now, that wasn't so hard after all!
