I don't know if it was his diet or not. I had read one article by some of his friends that went on the search that he had had some fevers and stuff not long ago that they wondered if it was some type of fever he caught in the jungle but weren't sure. It's possible he picked up somthing that damaged his heart. Something caused it to become enlarged at any rate. I've heard of runners (and other people who aren't runners) dying of a heart defect they were born with and never knew they had until an autopsy after he died. At any rate it was natural causes and not something else.
I appreciate your letting us know. I suspected that it was heart failure. I don't know much about cardiomyopathy but am wondering if his very simple diet he ate (at least while in Mexico) of mostly corn and beans (mostly carbs) was not enough to sustain his running. Birgit
You can talk to God all you want and that's great, but the changes happen when you start listening to him.
There was an article in the SIlverCity Sun News this morning, which is our local paper, that Micah True's autopsy results were finally released and showed an enlarged heart with thickening f the muscle on one side of the heart. They said it was cardiomyopathy which he probably had no idea he had. He was found in the wilderness about 45 or 50 miles from where I live, and we are the closest town and so it was big news here even if many didn't know who he was. Since he first went missing it was in the papers. Just thought some might be interested. Never know what will happen. However I would like to die when I go doing something I love like he did. R.I.P.
