"A bicycle ride is a flight from sadness." — James E. Starrs, The Literary Cyclist
"We run, not because we think it is doing us good, but because we enjoy it and cannot help ourselves...The more restricted our society and work become, the more necessary it will be to find some outlet for this craving for freedom." -Sir Roger Bannister, first runner to run a sub-4 minute mile
Plan on being slower and just accept it. If you feel overheated then stop and walk. Other than staying hydrated not too much you can do. I also find that on long runs I will take some gaterade at the end or near the end. It helps with numbness in my hands. I wear a water wicking bondi band and a baseball hat. The hat keeps the sun off my face and the bondi band keeps the sweat out of my eyes.
I have to say though that I am a wimp when it comes to humidity. If it gets really humid I have to run on the mill at the gym.
get good wicking running clothes. i run at noon and it's VERY hot, but the wicking fabric really does help. you still sweat like crazy, but you don't get as wet, which sounds kinda gross, but it really works. make sure you listen to your body and don't get overheated, because that's a lousy way to start your day!
