There is a race in Toronto that has the Clydsdale catagory. I did not bother registering as one. I figured I was not going to win any catagory. Plus you are still not really competing with similar body types. Some of the clydsdale women are really tall.

Many triathlons have age group categories and then an Althea (for women over 150 lbs) and Clydsdales (for men over a certain weight...forgot what number). I would imagine as well that some running races have something similar. Very true what you say and a good race organizer should take that into consideration.

Hey Jeff,

Some races do have weight categories...it really just depends on who the race director is.

GREAT JOB on your race!

Nancy

I've seen very few races that have anything but age categories. I'd like to see how many other 230 pound guys can run 10k in 65mins, etc.
