Nina, I think you are as happy sewing as Patty is knitting and Glenna is canning and taking care of her animals.
Cantaloupe was on sale here but it did not look good at all - absolutely no smell of cantaloupe so we passed it by. It doesn't save to have something that doesn't taste good.
Tuesday evening DH and I went to a Diabetes Support meeting where the hospital chef and dietician served a healthy barbeque kind of meal. We started with Asian cabbage slaw, then roasted vegetables, coconut panko snapper and last of all a healthy barbeque sauce on chicken breast on skewers. It was all good.
I spent the day sewing again. Finished one outfit. I had BBQ chicken, peas, baked potato, and cantaloupe for supper. Yummy. Going to sew again tomorrow. I want to make a large bag for my DD#1 as she takes a care of kids after school with the Boy's and Girl's Club. That way she can carry all her stuff to her class room. I fried onions, celery, peppers and mushrooms, then added ham chunks...stir frying it all together. Then I wanted something to replace the sweetness of chunk pineapple, that seems to go together with ham...,hmm what to use...I finally settled on some artificial sweetener, and that really hit the spot. Served it with grape tomatoes, love those, and hubby added some sweet cherries to his plate...yum
Tomorrow I will be baking in the afternoon.
A ground beef and cheese casserole, a quiche without the crust, and a pumpkin cheesecake bake...yummy. of course we won't be having the quiche for supper, but have it for my breakfast and a snacky if needed.
I can hardly wait for supper tomorrow night...lol Patty

Glenna, You made me chuckle thinking of rolling down car windows to pick blackberries. It reminded me of many, many years ago picking with Hattie & Violet on a slope and Violet got too far down the slope and was afraid of scratching her vericose veins so Hattie held out the crook of her cane to reel her back up the slope. We got to laughing so hard and poor Violet did not think it was funny at all. It still makes me smile.
Not sure about dinner yet. It's been a goofy day. We just brought Sweetie home and after investigating her favorite places inside and out, she has settled on the back of my chair. It's good to have her home.

We have had rain off and on today. did you ever get any Patty?
Dh and I did pick enough blackberries for a pie. It started raining as we were walking down to the briars. Dh asked did I want him to get the car. I had to laugh. I asked what are we going to do, roll the windows down and pick berries. Perhaps my idea was just as funny. I suggested we get umbrellas and pick anyway. And we did. I have to confess I giggled a lot as I picked in the rain. It wasn't a hard rain and soon passed. So the pie is in the oven.
I have macaroni, peas, pickled beets, and cottage cheese for supper. Anyone cooking anything good?
