Good morning friends,

The calendar has turned and we enter a new year. We had a really quiet New Year's for the most part: We had game night and a potluck with the neighbors, a drink at midnight and went home shortly thereafter. We watched the rose parade and football yesterday and just relaxed.

I am finally healing up after 3 weeks of upper respiratory creeping crud that began with what I thought was a cold but was really a sinus infection, morphed into bronchitis and then RSV, thanks to working with a client who works in a daycare. Two weeks of antibiotics and a 48 hour hospital stay but seem to be on the mend now, thank goodness.

Christmas was good and quiet as well, since I was released on Christmas Eve. David got me art supplies and a tapletop easel so I've been playing around with that quite a bit.

I revamped the kitchen and have gotten away from eating added or refined sugars. I am only using maple syrup, honey or pure stevia. Gluten is gone from my diet and dairy is significantly reduced because I'm lactose intolerant. I'm feeling a lot better - more energy and less pain.

How is everyone? Any New Year's intentions?

This life is a hero's journey. Anyone who sticks it out and gives it their best shot is heroic, in my estimation. What we call normal is so often extraordinary. Just overcoming the weight of the world, and making a genuine effort to identify and honor our true-path is profound. Kudos to anyone who is making a genuine effort to get through this life with originality, awareness and authenticity. ~Jeff Brown
