I got my grocery shopping done. Early this afternoon my neighbor brought her cleaning lady over to introduce me to her. I'm going to give her a try. She's also doing another house down the street. I'll have her come in every three weeks. With the two of us the house doesn't get that dirty. DH does the floors but with his up coming surgery that will take one thing off his plate. He had the app't this morning with the specialist but the Dr. has to talk to DH cardiolgist and go over his records. So no plan is in place yet.
Hi ladies So much rain for the last 2 1/2 months. So many things blooming and drying up and lots of allergies for this lady. Took allergy pill then have problems staying awake. So went and visited friends. Can always talk and stay awake :) Have Women's Bible Study tonight so should make it till 9 pm before going to bed. Was up at 5 am to help kids get ready for school. Love having them, but look forward to the week of rest when they are at their moms.
Patty-never thought of using the yogurt. There are lots of recipes I did not make because of no applesauce. Usually always have yogurt so will try that next time. Thanks for the tip.
Paulissa-so glad you had a good day with your mom's things.
It is cool here too. 75 degrees today with rain tonight and tomorrow morning before heating up again.
Yesterday the hubber and I worked on getting totes from mom's out of my living room, dining room and kitchen. Lots of washing everything to get the cigar smell out of things. I sorted through her jewelry so I could put that away and felt so oddly pampered: I kept 52 necklaces, 52 pairs of earrings, 26 of her rings and 4 dressy watches. While most of the jewelry was costume, it is beautiful and a piece of her so many things were meaningful. I do think she belonged to a cross of the month club! There were 3 dozen crosses - many of them stone so I've been giving them to friends.
Today I am meeting with a friend for lunch and working a couple of hours before working out and writing blog posts and my ecourse tonight.
This life is a hero's journey. Anyone who sticks it out and gives it their best shot is heroic, in my estimation. What we call normal is so often extraordinary. Just overcoming the weight of the world, and making a genuine effort to identify and honor our true-path is profound. Kudos to anyone who is making a genuine effort to get through this life with originality, awareness and authenticity. ~Jeff Brown
Good morning girls, It's supposed to be around 67 degrees today. Right now it is chilly, and breezy and overcast. Lots of rain yesterday... the other morning we had a fire in the wood stove...it got down into the 30's that night...brrr too early for these type of temps...It is supposed to warm up again this week, and thurs. even be in the low 80's
Nothing much going on here... did I tell you yesterday what I cooked? Can't remember, so will tell you again...lol
Blazing Glory Chili, Man in Mind, page 84 I made a double batch, yummy
banana bars from Baking with Splenda, can't remember the page number, but it was like blond brownies, and it had mini choc. chips and nuts in it...plus 3 bananas...I still have 1 banana left, will probably peel it and put it in the freezer, for more bananay goodies later in life...lol
It called for a bit of applesauce, and didn't want to open a quart of applesauce for only 1/3 cup, I think it was. So instead I used the same amount of ff yogurt...my own homemade yogurt of course...lol worked perfectly...so if you are out of applesauce, just replace with ff yogurt, or ff sour cream, or maybe even mayo...all these items JoAnna uses to replace oil and fat...so I figured it should work...it worked perfectly...yummy, very bananay in flavor and good with all those choc chips and pecans...oh my
