Glenna, It's good when you can pop in to say hello. I'm glad it's cooling down where you are.
Patty, Sounds like you are on a cooking spree.
Iris, When I do fish tacos I just saute tilapia in a skillet either with cooking spray or sometimes olive oil but my friend said she has a special coating she puts on the fish that's low in WW points. I'll have to ask her more about it next week. I hope you have a nice dinner out.
Ann, Let us know if DH starts purring! Have you seen the price on flannel PJs and nighties lately? I have really wanted a new flannel nightie but I can't get past the cost. So I'm going to check out some other stores online. Good luck with your elastic project. I agree about the Costco halibut vs. cod. Just not the same.

Hi All, Nice weather here but this week end it is suppose to heat up. I just spent at least two hours taking out elastic from a pair of p j's that are about 4 sizes too big. Winter ones that are so comfy. The elastic was stitched into the fabric rolled over and stitched again down through the middle with the thinnest nylon thread that was impossible to see. I would have tossed them if the same fabric and style was easy to find. If I didn't have this darn cataract the job would have been easier. Well they are put on hold now until I get some new elastic and get ambitous again.
I have never eaten a fish taco. They are very popular here. Last night I baked two of the cod patties from Costco. I won't buy them again. Much cheaper than the halibut but no comparison in taste. I think good cod has to be deep fried. We do love cole slaw, any way any shape or form.
DH made sandwiches again to take over and feed #1DS. He hadn't been gone for a couple of minutes when I heard the car drive up. I asked him what he forgot, the lunch or his wallet. he said he got up to the traffic light and looked at the passengers seat and no lunch.
DH took a CD back to a neighbor last night and told them he was told to take MiraLax for his blockage. She said we feed that every day to our cat. I'm still waiting for him to start purring.

I like chili over coleslaw...it really tastes good. I also like it on chili dogs...love that coleslaw.
also in my bean soup, I put canned tomatoes in too, makes it really rich tasting...yum
Patty it sounds like you've been making some delicious things. My husband loves macaroni and cheese . I will try that recipe for sure!
Jan I love cole slaw on fish tacos. My granddaughter and I used to make them out of extra crispy fish sticks and have coleslaw with dressing and grated cheese. Of course now I would do without the mayo. I actually can't eat cole slaw anymore. So many things don't agree with me anymore.
I think we will be eating out again since our kitchen is in the middle of painting and foold is all packed up.
Have a great day girls
I just made Cherry chocolate cloud salad from Man in Mind, page 140...I left out the choc. graham crackers
Also made the Mom's old fashioned apple crisp, baking with splenda, page 167
I didn't change anything with this...
We are having the rest of the 3 cheese macaroni from the Potful cookbook.
I added an extra 1/2 cup water, and 1 tsp. mustard to this recipe. and used only cheddar and parmesan, not the mozzarella. so I used 1 1/2 cup cheddar, instead of 3/4 cup of cheddar and 3/4 cup mozzarella...
This turned out so good. I don't think I will ever make it any other way again. It only took about 3 hours to cook...
yesterday, I was coughing all day...gave me a headache, just cough cough cough...
oh, we have a broccoli salad from Strong bones cookbook for supper too...
So what will you be having for supper tonight...
have a good day girls,
Hi Jan and the rest to follow,
It is sunny and cool in WV today. We had a hard rain during the night and it cooled the temps down. Which is a welcome relief.
I need to do some laundry today, too. Also a bit of house cleaning. DH is busy with his gospel sining group. They are pretty much booked up for the weekend. They sing at a lot of nursing homes.
The fresh cole slaw sounds good, Jan. I have never heard of that. I bet it goes well with the tilapia tacos.
Hope everyone is having a good Friday.
It's a dark, cloudy morning and 62 degrees here.
I've got some laundry going. All the furniture moving is done - just some organizing to do but we are happy with the change. The cats have all settled down and chosen their current napping spots.
I called the Diabetes Education office and I'm on the list for October classes as long as they have 3 "paid" patients attending. She said they have 5 signed up but you never know who will really show up. When I went earlier this year she said something like 14 people had been referred but they got 4 plus 2 spouses at that session.
Since it's cooler I've got some ironing to do. I washed the duvet cover and shams for our bed and they need ironing plus there's a basket of this and that I need to decide if I'm keeping or putting in a garage sale.
Tonight dinner will be tilapia tacos. A friend told me how she makes a fresh cole slaw to go on her fish tacos so I'm going to try that. No mayo but some hot sauce and lime juice..
I hope you all are having a good day. Come and visit and tell us what's going on in your neck of the woods.
