Ann and all,
If you need help please contact the Area Agency on Aging and Disability. It is possible you will qualify for a caregiver who will help you with personal care and with keeping your home clean and well ordered.
Re: sleeping all night
I don't generally wake during the night. It does happen occasionally, usually when I am upset or worrying about something. I generally get into bed around nine or ten and read until I am sleepy, then turn on my machine and zone out until around six-thirty or seven in the morning.
Today I went to the Outdoor market and loaded up on fresh organic, no pesticide, produce. I made a haul and when I got home I fixed a vegetarian dinner for myself and one of my new friends, (the one who likes classical music).
I got tomatoes of several varieties most of them are heirloom tomatoes. I also got zucchini, summer squash, patty pan squash, fingerling potatoes, two different salad mixes, spinach, English and lemon cucumbers, green onions, basil, rosemary, plums and ground cherries. I can't think of anything else, but let me tell you my frig is full and the tomatoes are not in it. Refrigerating tomatoes robs them of their flavor so my tomatoes stay on the counter.
I love going to outdoor markets, everyone is so friendly there. This was my second visit and I will return next week for the things I missed today. I was surprised there was no corn there. I wonder if the farmers couldn't get heirloom or organic seed? That would be criminal! I'll have to ask next visit.
My daughter and her family are going up to the old place to pick up more of my belongings tomorrow. I will also go there on Tuesday when I go up to get Gidget groomed. I miss some of my really good friends from up there. Hopefully we will keep in contact.
See you all later,
PS. Have a great weekend. JSW
Iris, I'm seriously considering getting a house cleaner. When I played bridge the other day all three of the ladies had some one come in to clean. Two were younger than I. Two said they only have someone every three weeks. That would work for us too. We're not that much of a dirtier upper. DH has been doing a lot of the house work except the dusting. I know three neighbors that have some one clean for them. Two ladies come to the couple across the street. They both work. When I worked I had a cleaning lady. That was why I worked.

My a/c has been running for hours and it's still 80 in here. As you can probably tell I do not like the hot weather. When I was young I loved it. We lived in the San Fernando valley for a short time in 1962 and the hotter it was the more I liked it.
I dug through my cookbooks today and found a list of things I cooked and baked way back in 2007. Gave me some ideas of what to cook when it cools off. The ants have invaded probably because of the heat so I've been cleaning cupboards. Not so easy when I am using two canes.
Well I'm off to finish vacuuming and do some laundry! If I were rich I would have a housecleaning lady but knowing me I would clean the house before she came so she wouldn't think I was messy!
Good Morning. Still morning here. Not a lot going on, I've got a load of towels in the dryer. The sun is in and out of the overcast. The paper said the humidity will leave by mid afternoon. I don't think it is as hot today as it was yesterday.
I've read and not doing much else. DH said he washed the side of the garage that was covered with spots of jet fuel from the air planes that fly high over the house. I don't remember us having that problem in years past.
