Good Afternoon, It is such a beautiful day here. A nice breeze, clear blue sky and not too hot. I have windows and the doors open. It's nice inside the house too as it is nice and clean from yesterdays company. I'm going to make a black bean salad with some of yesterdays left overs and with the left over gr. beef we'll have tacos.
Did you know we don't grill hot dogs right? That is according to an AOL ad. You are suppose to put a skewer stick down the middle and take a knife and twist the skewer while cutting with a knife 1" turns apart. Take the skewer out and have have a spiral hot dog to grill. I guess the inside gets more heated through and toasty. When I'm in a hurry I cook mine in the microwave wrapped in a paper towel.
Nina, Happy Birthday to your Honey.
Jan, yesterday one of the ladies was telling about the cobbler her DIL made that was so easy and delicious. The kind with frozen fruit in the pan, dry cake mix sprinkled over top and then pour a can of diet 7-UP or Sprite on top and bake. I told her I do that quite often but I just weigh out 1/2 the cake mix and make 1/2 a recipe for the two of us. Then I mentioned the angel food cake and pineapple and they never heard of that one.
Judy, we'll be watching the fire works on TV. We can hear them here every night about 9:55 when they go off from Sea World. Can't see em but sure can hear them. Once when I was in grade school I went to a Boston Pops Concert. I don't remember much more than sitting on the grass and the river beside the common.
In the small town my dad's mother and father lived in they had a common (park) with a gazbo in the center that had band concerts in the summer. It was an easy walk from my grandparents house. I wonder if they do that any more. Lots of small town in New England had their gazbo's in a small park.
I started a new book today. DH is going to GS basket ball game in a little while. Strange to have one on a holiday.
