We went up higher in the mountains today to look for more camping sites. It even rained and hailed on us and lightening and thundered. My honey felt so much better up there. He has been fighting a sinus infection from an allergy to honey suckel that is blooming I am actually getting worried about him. If everyone would pray he gets better. He on a 3rd round medicine.
Judy - hope you get some rest soon and found a great place to eat.
Patty - my honey requested a lasagna for his birthday so we had the lasagna for you, ha ha. I made him a peach pie with JoAnns crisp on top. He likes pie instead of cake .
Jan - you are doing so great
Ann - that was very interesting about the hot dogs. My honey had a fun birthday even without the

Good Afternoon, It is such a beautiful day here. A nice breeze, clear blue sky and not too hot. I have windows and the doors open. It's nice inside the house too as it is nice and clean from yesterdays company. I'm going to make a black bean salad with some of yesterdays left overs and with the left over gr. beef we'll have tacos.
Did you know we don't grill hot dogs right? That is according to an AOL ad. You are suppose to put a skewer stick down the middle and take a knife and twist the skewer while cutting with a knife 1" turns apart. Take the skewer out and have have a spiral hot dog to grill. I guess the inside gets more heated through and toasty. When I'm in a hurry I cook mine in the microwave wrapped in a paper towel.
Nina, Happy Birthday to your Honey.
Jan, yesterday one of the ladies was telling about the cobbler her DIL made that was so easy and delicious. The kind with frozen fruit in the pan, dry cake mix sprinkled over top and then pour a can of diet 7-UP or Sprite on top and bake. I told her I do that quite often but I just weigh out 1/2 the cake mix and make 1/2 a recipe for the two of us. Then I mentioned the angel food cake and pineapple and they never heard of that one.
Judy, we'll be watching the fire works on TV. We can hear them here every night about 9:55 when they go off from Sea World. Can't see em but sure can hear them. Once when I was in grade school I went to a Boston Pops Concert. I don't remember much more than sitting on the grass and the river beside the common.
In the small town my dad's mother and father lived in they had a common (park) with a gazbo in the center that had band concerts in the summer. It was an easy walk from my grandparents house. I wonder if they do that any more. Lots of small town in New England had their gazbo's in a small park.
I started a new book today. DH is going to GS basket ball game in a little while. Strange to have one on a holiday.

Jan, I think you have your weight wrong on your ticker. Weren't you in the 180's yesterday?
You are doing so well.
I thawed out some burger. I was going to make a lasagna casserole. So put the meat in the sink to thaw a bit, while we went to town for lunch. Came home, and discovered it was steak...lol
So we will have steak, corn on the cob, watermelon and an orange pie. Can't remember the name of it, but it is in the Heart cookbook, and has both pineapple and mandarin oranges and orange jello in it. It also called for orange juice, and I didn't have any, so I used water. I love it...I think I probably will not use the orange juicewhen I make it again, as it is so yummy as it is.
I slept through the night with no problems. Today I am feeling really logy still I know I got enough rest. I don't have a clue what I will eat today. All my pots and pans I think are packed. Gloria did the kitchen yesterday, but I don't know what she did because I haven't been down there. She put a supper up here for me do I wouldn't have to go down.
I had plans for last night but I canceled those when I realized my exhaustion. Today I have to make up for lost time. Tomorrow my crew comes so I'll have to be up and moving early. I do think I am going to have to go out today for food, but that is all. I haven't any idea where there will be fireworks. I haven't gone to see them for several years.
I would like to be able to see the Boston Pops Concert on the Esplanade this year. That is something I really enjoy. I have never seen it live, but I watch the broadcast of it every year. One of the highlights of my visit to Boston was the day I spent wandering the Esplanade and seeing the statue of Arthur Feidler.
I'll see you again as soon as possible. Have a wonderful Forth!
The 4th of July, which I call our country's birthday . It is also my honey's birthday . We may go for a ride or something today. Yesterday we sat in the pines at the park and enjoyed every minute of it. We are starting our monsoons it looks like or it is a teaser. So we can expect rain sometime during the day
Patty - as you can see yesterday we were at the park. My honey is trying to get over a sinus infection that has come back on him, so we left the honey suckle next door and sat at the park. It is with a chance of latter today.
Jan - boy are you prepared. I do not know even what we will have today. My honey wanted a lasagna so we may go to the store and get some cheese I use after our ride. Enjoy the fireworks .

Good morning! Breakfast is done and I've got a pineapple angelfood cake in the oven. I've got lunch and dinner planned. This is what I've made from HE: Lazy Dog Macaroni Salad Mandarin Coconut Salad or is it Coconut Mandarin? Boardinghouse Pea Salad Pineapple Cashew Cole Slaw
We're grilling hamburgers and hotdogs. My fridge is stuffed.
now I'll have to pick and choose how I spend my carbs.
Some of us will watch the fireworks on the river but they've changed locations this year so we need to find a new viewing spot.
