Gloria and I worked really hard while she was here today. It was extremely hot up here and her face got as red as the bright shirt she was wearing. We are now about half done with the alcove.
I have started with my cookbooks. I filled one small milk crate and haven't emptied even one shelf. I am beginning to wonder if I have enough boxes and crates to get everything packed. If I don't I can get some more.
I still don't know if they will let me move into the apartment. There is so much red tape. I will talk with the woman in charge on Monday and let her know that my moving crew won't be available after next weekend. I know that may be a problem for her, but delaying any further will be a bigger problem for me.
I am very tired this evening. The heat knocks me right down. Now it has cooled off and I could do a lot of work, but I just don't have the energy.
Wow, Ann, that's amazing that you've only missed one day of walking. I'm working on my determination to increase my healthy lifestyle. How disappointing about the guy who put in the air conditioners. I hope the cell phone story was true - it sounded a little too convenient.
I had a good session of weeding before it warmed up too much. Made lunch and then DS and I went to Costco and Fred Meyer. Fred Meyer is remodeling and it's a zoo to park there. Last time I went I parked over in JoAnns parking lot and walked over.
Patty, Those were cute pictures you posted. Is that a cat bed the kitty is curled up on?
No there still is no air conditioning at our house. What a big kettle of fish this has turned into. We have not been able to get ahold of the worker. DS came over and he and dad monkeyed around with the units. DS said he come back this morning he did. Then next door neighbor came over and he goes to the same church as the absent worker. He was very unhappy to hear that he's been in absenteeism. DS called his electrician friend that has done work for him rewiring his shop. He's coming by after 5 tonight to see if the electric wiring is correct. In the meantime they went to Home Depot and bought another unit in case the one in the bedroom is no good.
Then the worker called and said he dropped his cell phone last Thur. and stepped on it and could not return any phone calls as he had them all in his cell phone. He said he'd come over today. DS had a fit and told DH to call him back and cancel that until the electrician checks out the wiring. DH did.
Thank goodness we have the end of the month luncheon to go to in 1/2 an hour. I've stayed out of everyones way.
I have to confess that I did not get my walk in with Leslie yesterday. First day I've missed this year. I got up at 8:15 and had to be at the lab at 9:15 so I had to hurry. It was just too hot to walk later.

It's a comfortable 63 and I'm going to get outside to do weeding as soon as I finish this. Supposed to warm up again today. Yesterday was really muggy here, too.
Patty, wouldn't it be fun if we all could hop over to where you live and walk in the woods with you?! The walk would go really fast while we were visiting.
I'm hoping Ann got her air conditioners working. What a disappointment to put them in and they didn't work. Also Louise is in that heat wave. Stay cool ladies!
I've stayed on my food plan. Thankfully we can moderate the Spark Solution to our needs- yesterdays dinner was a yummy sounding macaroni & cheese but it was so warm here I made big salads instead with made ahead grilled chicken.
Did strength training and walked an hour on river walk.
Good morning Girls, I walked only 1/2 mile this morning. Will walk the other half when hopefully it is not as muggy as it was this morning. It rained during the night, and was still sprinkling a little bit...
There seems to be a nice breeze out right now. Don't let it fool you though, there was one when I went out this morning too. then it died down completely once I got out there...lol
