I agree Nina, breathing is a good thing. I don't have any of my supplies left, but I do know where to find interesting things to help a child to learn. Collect as many reference books as you can. I had a set of World Book Encyclopedia for the kids, but there were other books that helped them to be interested.
I don't know their ages, but I do know that if there is a forest service office nearby you can find some great materials there. I don't know how close to Flagstaff you are, but I am sure they will have some materials that will interest the children. Their teachers will also be a great resource. If you can find out now who will be their teachers next year you might be able to confer with those teachers and get a head start on tutoring the kids.
I am so excited for you. I have all sorts of great memories of my children and grandchildren while they were in school. BTW. One of the highlights for my children was seeing the total eclipse In Goldendale WA. I drove most of the night to get the kids there, but they all remember that experience fondly. There will be another total eclipse in Oregon in the Salem area. If there is any way you can get there the kids will benefit greatly. It is during the summer though. Let me know if you are interested and I will send you more information.
We are so excited for our grand kids. They will be able to go to school. We have a lot of hard work to get them caught up. I am sure the Lord will lead us to people who can help us.
The Superintendent of Schools will lead us to places and programs that will help.
This will be like going back in time for me. My kids have been gone for a lot of years. I will be back into getting kids to school etc.
My son got word today he has the job and to start tomorrow. We are praising the Lord for all of this.
Being able to breathe is a good thing. I felt I was holding my breath for months with all this.
Thanks for everyone's support.
Nina, Thank Goodness. That is the first judge I know of to award custody to the father. I am so pleased for you and for your grandchildren. I know your son is relieved. So am I. Thanks for letting us know the decision.
Nina, That's wonderful news! I'm so glad for your son and all of you.
Ann, Have a great time playing bridge tomorrow.
Patty, Good deal on the rhubarb. Can the plants be divided this fall?
Judy, Have fun at TOPS tomorrow.

Praise the Lord-My son gets custody of the kids during the school year as he will put them in school
She will get them in the summer and Christmas OR if she moves back here she can see them more.
Will let you know more when I know more.
I hope we hear some good news from Nina today. Maybe the judge didn't make a decision yet.
Patty, when I make meat loaf I like to make a big one so I have some to freeze. I know it does dry out when you reheat it but I got that figured out too. I make a Herbed Tomato sauce and put that over the slices in the containers.
It's nice out today. high 60's or low 70's. I don't know what I have done this morning but the day is going fast. DS is going to stop by on his way home from work and look at a neighbors truck. I guess he has a friend that wants to buy an older truck for his son. This one is a 1991 that looks good and a one owner with only 47,000 miles on it but DH said the tires aren't good and the lady said it needed a new clutch. Her DH passed away in Dec. She's not asking a lot for it.
Tomorrow I get to play bridge. The ladies haven't played since about last Nov. We lost two members and two of them lost their mothers in that time and one husband has had two surgeries. I hope things are getting better for every one.
last night I laid in bed trying to think what I would fix for lunch when it becomes my turn to host bridge. Dumb huh. I decided on Taco Salad and a Flan dessert from Costco. The BBQ we went to last month, had that for dessert. She said it was a new item at Costco. It was very tasty. I'm sure not low cal.
I've put the knitting needles up to see If I can get rid of my sore shoulder. The paper had an article about hot or cold treatment for aches and pains and it said 2 -3 months to get a sore shoulder back to pain free. It has been a little longer than that for me.
Ann in San Diego
I just picked and cut up and froze 2 quart bags of rhubarb. We only have 1 plant, but it is a big one, and gives us about all the rhubarb we can want...If I just had 1 more plant, it would be perfect.
I made my fave pie this afternoon, Fruit Cocktail Chiffon Pie.
Once this is done, I will make Rhubarb fluff pie. They are both in the first book, Healthy Exchanges cookbook.
Guess we will finish up our meatloaf tonight. I am kind of tired of it, but do not want to throw it out, just cause I am tired of it. Maybe make mac and cheese to go with...yum
I am hoping NIna can come on here and let us know what happened...
It is sunny here too, but as Jan said it is cold. The furnace is cycling regularly. It is set at 60 degrees so you can tell it is chilly. Weatherunderground says the temperature should go up to 79 degrees today. That sounds just about perfect to me.
My container gardens are doing quite well. I am pleased. My sequoias are growing fast one has about 18 inches of new growth and the other almost 2 feet. They grow fast. The one we planted way out in the back yard is now well over 20 ft tall and it was about four foot tall when we put it in the ground. There is another one out there but the brush between me and the tree is so high I can't see the tree.
I have nothing planned for the day. I paid all my bills yesterday and TOPS is tomorrow. I guess I will just putter around today.
See you later,
Good morning Patty and everyone who drops in to join us,
The sun was out at the get-go this morning but it was cold. supposed to reach 70 today.
