Ann, I can't believe either the home association wouldn't allow the flags. Good grief! We don't have many displayed and we didn't put ours up because of the rain. Tomorrow is supposed to be worse. That's too bad the Icy Hot didn't work out.
Patty, Good future ahead for your grandson!
DH and I stopped in at an estate sale in one of the big, old houses here. There wasn't much left to buy but I was amazed to see the inside of that house. 3 stories plus a basement and almost every room had a great view of the neighborhood, downtown and the river. The kitchen was remodeled and as big as my livingroom, diningroom and kitchen put together. Wonderful space with cabinets all around, 2 sinks, an island with even more cabinets. I think the stove was there. The kitchen window over the sink had a magnificent view. You could have 12 people in there and not be crowded! On the third floor was an office with more panoramic views.
We also went to one cemetery - brother-in-laws grave did have a flag on it and we were glad for that because I forgot to bring the little one I bought in case they didn't. I had white lilacs and irises from my yard to put down.
Glenna, It's good to see you posting when you can. You have quite a garden and all the things you do is way beyond what I've ever done. Let's all keep Sarah in our prayers.
Judy, I'm glad you are enjoying your vacation.
Louise, I'm glad you're feeling better and finding foods and substitutions you can make so meals will work for you. Today I found some wonderfully flavored marshmallows at Sunday Market that I could eat. What a treat! The ones I got are Chai flavored.
Ann, So you get to be the hemmer! Ach! Sports TV.

Well we did the breakfast thing at DS house. I should say DH did breakfast. He's the biscuits and gravy guy. GS washed our car for some $$. It really didn't need it but that is DH thing not mine. I came home with three pair of baseball pants to hem. Of course the whole time we are there basketball is on the TV. Doesn't matter if any one is watching it or not.
I put some Icy Hot on my aching shoulder this morning. Not a good time to do it when you then put on a bra. The bra strap is killing me and it hadn't before the Icy Hot stuff was put on.
DS lives in a Home Owners gated development. I counted only 4 flags on his long street. One year a realtor came by and put a small flag on a stick in the ground by each house. The Next morning they were all gone. I know some one of the association had them taken down. How sad is that. If I lived there, I would have been steaming.

Jan, Yes I feel much better on this eating program and exercise helps. I wish I could send some Arizona sunshine your way.
Judy, It sounds like you are having a Great Time! Enjoy your vacation. Tuesday will be good enough to get back on track.
Glenna, Gardening and yard work are great for one to get in some good exercise. I could never garden when we had a yard. I was horrible at it.
Patty, Your grandson sounds like such a grounded young man. That is so good to hear in this day and age. I sound like such an old person but honestly I see a lot of young people with no ambition. Your grandson sounds like such a nice young man. I hope his girlfriend appreciates him.
Well, waiting for DH to finish showering. We are going out for a healthy lunch. The Greek Restaurant we go to has a village salad that I can replace the feta cheese with and get hummus with it instead. The also have unsweetened green ice tea which is very healthy.
Well, Everyone, Please Have A Very Wonderful Sunday!
Jan, Grandson is going to college starting in the fall. He will be working this summer, then transfering his job to his college town.. That worked out really good for him. He kept above a 3.5 grade point average, worked a job, played football, and had a girlfriend...Seems to want to keep his grades up so far. Hope that continues over into college. Patty

Hi Everyone! It is a very beautiful day in WV. The sun is shining and the temp. is very comfortable. We have had frosts the past two mornings. But fortunately nothing has been damaged. Some of the potatoes look just a little yellow on top. But I think they will come out of it and be ok.
I am hoping for a good fruit harvest this year. I need to can up some apple sauce. It has been a couple years now since we have had any apples to speak of.
Sounds like everyone is busy. I have been with the garden and yard work. Summer is a busy time. But I love it. Won't be long until time to make hay.
I haven't talked to Sarah for a while. Since she has been ill, I don't get to talk to her very much. I miss our conversations.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday and happy weekend. Glenna
I moved a lot yesterday. You'll be surprised. I did up most of the dishes yesterday. I count that as exercise because that is the longest I have stood in one place for years. Standing still really makes me hurt.
Water, that is really easy for me, now that I have formed a habit.
Food, well lets just skip that. I ate a great breakfast, had part of a Gyros later in the day and two bowls, (3.5 oz) of ice cream. Hey, I am on vacation. I did notice that my jeans were more difficult to
fasten this morning. I will get back on track on Tuesday.
I am having a very good time here.
Patty I wish I could pick up some of your discardable yarn. I have lots of ideas.
Jan, We are headed from Vancouver down to the area west of Junction City, a village called Franklin. It is on Territorial Road between Cheshire and Veneta. He still lives in the house we bought on New Year's day 1962.
I'll see you all later,

It's still rain mode here for the next week so depending on how that happens will be our plans for today. I bought a little flag for my brother-in-law's grave in case the boy scouts missed him again this year.
Move - yes, we walked for an hour in the neighborhood which includes up and down some hills.
Food plan - yes.
Water - yes.
Patty, Does your grandson know what he will be doing next after he graduated? Hooray for all the yeses we are piling up today!
Louise, You're doing good with your plan. Are you feeling better, too?

did you stick to your food plan? yes

I miss glenna and Sarah, and who else is missing. I think I am forgetting someone...
I am working again on that toddler sweater today. I also need to clean this house. My yarn is all over in plastic bins in the family room. I need to get that organized and bag up the baby yarn for Goodwill. Get it out of my house...I have been using 4 strands of baby yarn on the knitting looms, but I have so much other yarn, that I am just going to send it to someone that would want to use it for baby items...
