I woke at 4 this morning and was not able to go back to sleep. I have read all the news, taken my morning pills, checked out some things on my desk and I am now ready to go down and make some oatmeal for my breakfast.
I haven't watched, "Are You Being Served" I will check on You Tube and see if I can find it. I don't have television so I am totally unaware of the programs that are being offered. I do know of one program I would like to see. That is, "Newsroom" I saw the short segment that apparently went viral and am very interested in a program that would address the growing problems in this country.
I do not like Scotch Bloom. It is terribly invasive, a fire hazard because of the oil in the plant, and it smells terrible. It never used to bother me, but as I was exposed to it more and more often I began having a negative reaction. When I was driving bus I had to keep my windows closed when driving through an area where the plant was common. When we lived in Tenino we were surrounded by the plant and had problems trying to keep it from spreading on our place. My son worked many days trying to get the roots of plants out of the soil and wasn't completely successful. Now I know that the plant does not grow well if the land is shaded. That is the only deterrent of which I am aware.
The sun is shining very brightly this morning and I am hearing the peeping of some very tiny birds. Maybe the babies have started hatching. My little parakeet, "Oliver" is singing profusely. He does respond to the birds outside.
Breakfast time. I'll see you all later.

Nina, I'm glad you slept better. It looks like a bad allergy year. Our TOPS assistant weight recorder couldn't be at the meeting yesterday because bad allergies kept her up at night. In this area we have wild Scotch Boom - do any of you have it? It's so pretty - a shrub of dark green foliage and clusters of brilliant gold flowers that grows and spreads wild. Unfortunately some people are really allergic to it.
Judy, Glad you got through the frustrating bill-paying. I have watched Keeping up Appearances and As Time Goes By. My favorite was Are You Being Served. We are expecting rain on Sunday also.
Today I paid more bills. I can't believe how much work that is. I tried on-line this week and had a serious problem there. So then I tried by telephone, "Sorry, we don't take checks by phone". My frustration level is going up here. Activate a debit card so I can pay that bill. Check the balance in my account. Transfer money from another account. On and On and On it goes. Then for those bills I couldn't pay on-line of by telephone I had to scour up some stamps. My they are getting expensive. It looks as if I am going to have to sell a couple of grandchildren to buy more stamps. I am finished with that project and now my desk looks considerably cleaner.
I have been watching a British Television series called, "As Time Goes By" I first saw the show at my former husband's house and have recently started watching from the beginning. I love to watch Judi Dench, the female lead in the programs. She did another excellent series with her late husband Michael. I can't remember his last name. There is a third show I would also recommend. It is also a BBC production and is really funny. The name is, "Keeping Up Appearances." The three of these shows were on public broadcasting channels and now I can get them on YouTube.
It has been delightfully cool today. Just right as a matter of fact. The temperature has held fairly close to 64 degrees and the sun is shining brightly. I love it. We are supposed to have rain this weekend. It is time again. Our gardens could use a bit of rain.
"My" Gloria will be here tomorrow so we will get a bit more cleaning done. It will certainly be a better day than Monday when she was here last. I don't have much outlined for her to do because tomorrow is also food bank day. I look forward to that every month. It is just in time too, I am almost out of water. She can fill my jugs while I am playing receptionist at the food bank. That is also a very good thing.
I may drop in for just a moment in the morning, or in the evening, but it is unlikely I will be here during the day.
I got a good nights last night and decide to not worry about grown children, who are old enough to be responsible for their own lives. If they do not include me that's God's will for me right now. I have 2 other children that are respectful and love me the way I am. So a peaceful night and day.
My poor hubby is suffering from allergies and is not feeling good .
Patty-this is the first time in 10 years I have had trees by my home. It was always juniper before. I just love the trees and the leaves. When I moved in here there was snow on the ground so no leaves. I just love looking at the trees.
Jan-hope those irises bloom soon. Have not seen any flowers so far on this home.
Ann-Hope you get some tonight. I know what that is like.
Louise-it is so good to hear from you also .

I'm dragging today. I never get a good nights sleep on the day I get chemo. You'd think the benadryl drip they give us would let me sleep all night. I normally sleep very well even if I make a couple of trips to the bath room. We made a quick trip to the dr. office for my shot to bring the white cells count up and a stop at the pharmacy to pick up a renewal of my anti nausea pills.
I have some sweet potatoes and pineapple in the baby crock pot for supper with some ham.
The rest of the day so far has been knitting and watching the TV.
