Hi, I'm back,

I am going to try to answer questions and make some comments.

Paulissa, You are doing the job I did at the senior center in Alaska. I loved it and wish I could do that again. I asked because I thought maybe that was what you are doing.

Ann, The campground across the street is a National Forest Campground and the name of it is Big Creek Campground. They were over there today running fallen branches through a wood chipper. I wish they wouldn't do that because the children love to pick up those branches for their campfires. "Look mom, I found a log for the fire". My kids really loved gathering wood for our campfires. They were always allowed to invite one guest each for our evening campfire and dessert. We got really creative with our desserts. Snow ice cream in July is fun!

I am very warm today. The outside temperature is now above seventy and that too warm for me to be comfortable. I was quite content yesterday when the temperature peaked at 65.
I am thinking that I'll have fish for dinner tonight. That, salad and beets sounds pretty good to me.

Love, Judy emoticon

There's been some house cleaning around here today. I did clean my drains with baking soda and vinegar. I try to do that once a month. It is suppose to be a little cooler today. By yesterday afternoon it really got warm.

Jan, Home Depot always cuts hours when business slows. DD is full time so volunteers some time to help out the part timers. She has built up quite a bit of vacation time too. She was doing the elimination of foods to see if she really was gluten free I was surprised they told her she was by lab work. Once she cut out the beer I think it made a big difference. Mother could have told her that but we all know mothers don't know anything. Your back yard of flowers sounds beautiful.

Paulissa you must have a lot of patience to work in the senior center.it sounds like they have a very good program for the senior activities.

Judy, what is the name of the camp ground across the road from your house? Is it a county park or a private one.

I think DH and I are going to eat out tonight at the soup and salad place. It is his birthday and tomorrow night we eat out with the kids. I think they decided on Red Lobster. I'm sure DD is making dad a banana cream pie. His favorate.

Yep, I will finish my degree next December (I have 6 quarters left) and then plan to use it to do advocacy for the mentally ill or geriatrics.

Judy, yes I suspect that I have been bipolar for quite some time but it has just recenntly been diagnosed with the help of a good therapist.

At the home, I run bingo and keep the seniors from abusing the volunteers and each others, give one on one care in the form of hand massages/manicures, run exercise programs, teach art, help with ceramics and polymer clay classes, photograph any events, the list goes on and on. . .in addition to gathering residents for activities and taking them back to the l0unges or their rooms when the activities are done.

I also volunteer teach journaling and art journaling for depression at a mental health facility in town. I guess I am owning my creativity!

Good morning everyone,

It is so good to see you again Paulissa. You sound so busy again. I wasn't aware you had bi-polar difficulties. You do so very much and always seem so happy. I am glad you are feeling better. Your new job sounds exciting! Do you do activities other than exercise? Can you describe some of the other activities?

I was pleased to see you are still working on those law classes. You've done so much in that direction. I am sure your photo walks are inspiring. I love your pictures.

Hello Jan, Your new diet sounds very interesting. I will be happy to hear about your menus. They sound like fun to me, but I can understand that it might be difficult to plan them. There is a great deal to be said about new challenges and how they stimulate us.

It is sunny and warm here today. I have the door to my balcony wide open and Gidget is happy to check out the outdoors this morning. I will go over to the campground with her later. Right now I am waiting the mandatory half hour after taking my pills to go fix my breakfast.

I got out some dehydrated blueberries last evening and made up a sourdough pancake mix so I will have a pancake with blueberries, an egg and some water for breakfast. I might change the water to ginger tea, that sounds very interesting this morning.

I'll see you all later.

Love, Judy emoticon

Good Saturday morning everyone,

Paulissa, I'm glad you are feeling better.

The sun is shining and it's going to be warm today. I've cleaned the kitchen and swiped the bathroom so I'm soon to head outside to do some weeding. I counted 20 iris buds last night- can hardly wait to see them in bloom! My back yard is starting to bloom in white - the neighbors cherry blossoms at our back fence, a white rhododendron, the snowball tree and a Mexican Mock Orange. You would think white would be boring but the high tree blossoms, medium height and different textures make it more of a lacey effect.

I'm still figuring out this diet and how to eat. This morning I had 2 oz. chicken breast and 1/2 red bell pepper. Morning snack will be 1/2 cup blueberries.

Good morning, friends! It is a rainy, grey day here in Omaha . I hope the mornig light finds you all well rested and in good spirits. It has been a while since I've been here, but the bipolar fog is finally lifting and exercise and good nutrition are vital to keeping it that way so I am back to tracking.

Things have been very busy: I began a new PT job as an activities asst. at a local nursing home 3 weeks ago and that gives me a built-in workout! Out of a 7 hour shift, I'm moving for 6. On non-working days, I do my strength training, yoga or if it nice outside, I do a photowalk. It feels good to be moving.

On the agenda for today: a trip to the botanical gardens to see the Lego sculptures (all botanical sculptures) and then home to straighten the mess that is my art studio and prepare for another show in 2 weeks, do some art, writing some articles for blog submissions, study for my tort law final and hopefully, do some zentangle art in the evening.

On the menu: Czech meatballs over zucchini noodles, roasted asparagus, fresh pineapple and some gluten-free apple muffins.

What are you up to today?
