Judy, Yes- it was Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens. The lilacs and other things were the best I've ever seen it - maybe we hit it just right because many years during lilac bloom it is raining but I think they have a good volunteer organization for keeping things healthy.
Ann, That's too bad about HD cutting hours. I hope things improve. My son's workplace has periods of low work and the ones with lots of accumulated time off usually volunteer. Yes, the diet is a real challenge. I can eat corn tortillas, bell peppers, broccoli, carrot, celery and some other veggies but in small amounts about the size of an orange! I will be counting down the days until I can start adding foods back in slowly.
I'm glad to see you back too Jan and not in the hospital. Wow no wheat or dairy. One is bad enough to stay away from but not both at the same time. My DD is doing pretty good on her glutenfree but I can't say I see she is losing weight. What about Rice Krispie cereal. I know that is one she can eat but you'd have to eat them dry with no milk. Not sure that would be good. I guess you will have to experiment with the non milk dairy products. I love lilac's. My grandmother and my mother both had large bushes of them. I also have one here but the blooms only last about two weeks with our change to warmer weather. Mine are pretty but I don't' detect any smell in them.
Patty, that is a strange name for a flower. Dutchmans britchers. I never was very good at remembering flower names. Of course we don't have any woods to walk in here either. Just canyons and this is rattlesnake season so I won't be doing that at all.
Judy, I hope you get your grocery shopping trip in. I remember the days in the military when we only got paid once a month. I think now the active military get paid twice a month which must help a lot.
DD stopped by a bit ago. She said their Mexican lunch was going well. She left work early as they were cutting hours. They always ask for volunteers when that happens. Very few of the cashiers are full time workers.
It is going to be a hot one again this afternoon. The fires that are burning up near L A are really out of control with the hot Santa Anna winds that are blowing in from the desert. We dodn't seem to have the wind here. At least the neighbors flag isn't blowing very much.
Were you at the Lilac Gardens in WA. I think the name is Hilda Kruger?
I am glad to see you back too! I missed my Oregon buddy. I am enjoying the lovely sunny weather for the past few days. It is finally warm outside and I can go over to the campground and wander about while there are no other people there. That will stop soon because they will open the campground, but its great while it lasts.
Gotta go fix some breakfast. See you all later.

The sun is shining again today! This is the start of my challenge on this new FODMAP Diet prescribed by the Gastro Dr. - no wheat, no dairy as well as other things for 6 weeks. No cereal or oatmeal which I limited anyway because of needing lower carbs for Diabetes.
Yesterday when I was at the lilac gardens (the house at the gardens is the picture in my avatar) I loved seeing so many old fashioned, beautiful and fragrant flowers, trees. There was a magnificent Verbena tree that looked like it was "iced" with white flowers. And the lilacs - you could just breathe the fragrance as you walked around.
Patty, the wild flowers sound so beautiful. Thank you for the welcome back.
Yesterday was my "last hurrah" for awhile. While traveling we had lunch at Panera Bread - a great turkey sandwich (wheat) and then they really nab you - with lunch you get a pastry for 99 cents. Also on the way home we went to my favorite Burgerville for a milkshake. It was absolutely delicious and something I won't be repeating for a good, long while.
Good morning Girls, Jan, Jan Jan, so good to hear from you. I am so pleased that you are doing well.
Hubby is gone to yard sales this morning. I am staying home.
I am loom knitting on my shawl. I do need to add another color skein. It has a pinker background, and the rest of the shawl has a bluer background. I don't care. It is the same yarn, just a bit different color. It will look, hopefully, like a color design, instead of just running out of yarn...lol we shall see.
My hands feel fine today. yay. Though I know that I need to take it easy on them, yarn wise, today, it is fun to use yarn again. Oh, my yarn, how I have missed you, (for 1 day)...lol
Have a good day girls. supposed to be a high of 70's for the next 7 days. and mostly sunshine...yay yay yay. sounds like we went from winter right into summer doesn't it. I missed spring...
We do have some wildflowers growing in the woods. Dutchmans britches, and American beauty. We also have some tiny white and purple flowers coming up from some bulbs someone gave me, though I have no idea what they are called. Pretty though.
I sure like looking out my window, and not seeing snow and ice. Those poor people out west getting all that snow.
ok girls. I need to go back downstairs, get my pink yarn and add it to my shawl. I just keep telling myself that it will be pretty, it will be pretty...and it will...lol
have a super duper day girls. be good to yourself today.
Again, Jan, so good to see you here again. Now, come on Glenna, Sarah and Louise...have i missed anyone...hope not.
