Sorry to be gone so long. I had my appointment with the gastroenterologist today in Portland and it's a good short-term report - hopefully long-term also. Since I have felt well the past two weeks, we are taking a wait and see approach. Because of certain blood cell elevation levels he and my doctor believe it is an allergic colitis. He gave me a FODMAP Diet where I avoid certain foods that commonly cause gastro problems for six weeks, then slowly add in things one at a time. One of those things is dairy which I dearly love.
It was a very long day - we left at 7:30 and got home at 5. Portland traffic is not fun and I'm glad I wasn't driving. We did get to stop at Penzey's Spices, a big shopping mall where we got a lot of walking in and ate lunch, the Hulda Klager Lilac gardens which are in glorious bloom right now (reminds me of a beautiful Easter card I got), and Super WalMart. It was 77 degrees in Portland and just nice.
Ann, I hope your scalp problem clears up soon - has to be uncomfortable.
Patty, I am glad to say I'm not in the hospital and hope to keep it that way!
Judy, I hope you get the financial stuff worked out. Sounds like a nice day to walk in the park.
Afternoon, lunch at senior center then pick up cousin for our Thursday outing...we always have a nice visit. She is the last old one left on MOm's side. We have an aunt and uncle on Dad's side in Washington state.
yesterday I crocheted my hands into fits, so no yarny work for a few days...that will be hard, as I am on a roll. llooll
I sure am worried about Jan. Wondering is she is in hospital. I miss her, I miss all the girls.
Thanks Judy, I tell DD about your trick with the CPAP hose. She did get a call today from her insurance that I took the message for her.
My doctor said to call her today if my head wasn't better and she would get me a referral to a dem. Dr. I called the office and the girl said a referral had already been requested and if I didn't get it by the 17th to let them know. That is just great. I'm sure it will come pretty quickly as they always do. It doesn't itch so much thank goodness.
I got some ironing done this morning and then put all the long sleeve blouses in the computer room closet and the short sleeve in the bedroom closet. That is switching from winter to summer. I did try on a bunch of pants and shorts and they are all too big. I never will beable to replace the shorts. They are all Koret golf shorts and I doubt they make them any more. Koret clothes are very hard to find. Once in a while I'll see a pair of pants in a catalog. I wonder if the company is out of business. I also hear they were making clothes under another name but have no idea what the name is.
We are expecting 2 - 3 days of heat. Dry winds for some areas but so far not very windy here. That means fire season is open.
