No chemo for me tomorrow. My white count is low. That happened the last time after the first drip of a new chemo. Maybe they will get the o k for the day after injection that brings the white count up. Now I'll have to have lab work again on Friday and hopefully chemo next Tues. Darn if that doesn't mess up a camp out in May I thought we'd beable to go to.

Ann, We have a friend who said the clams in Alaska are huge - fill a cast iron skillet he said. The idea of clamming today has waned. We are both comfortably ensconced in our chairs.

Louise I hope those winds don't aggravate your asthma. Nina, too.

It's windy here also Louise. Worse up in the mountains. We have some RV friends in Tucson that should be heading to the Palm Springs area tomorrow and another couple in Phoenix after the Tucson camp out that also will be heading to the Palm Springs area. That can be a very windy drive. I'm sure the wind here took some more of my hair. I don't think it will last the rest of the week. (my hair that is) By then there will be holes of bare head.

I made a trip of errands this morning. Had to buy an anniversary card for DS and DIL whose anniv. is on Friday. Probably their 34th. Stopped at the Goodwill Store to look for books. First time I've been in there and it is laid out very nice. Most of the thrift stores are a jumbled mess. I did find one Grisham paper back I hadn't read. Then to Costco. Sure wish they had had blueberries. Final stop at the produce store. I shall have asparagus on toast for supper.

Judy, I often weight out 1/2 a cake mix to make cobbler with frozen berries I buy at Costco. Cover the berries with 1/2 a yellow or white cake mix and pour over a small can size of 7-Up. (8 oz) Cover with foil and bake 30 min. and take the foil off and bake another 40 min. 350 degrees. I generally use about 1 lb. of berries. You can also use frozen peaches. I'm thinking of making a Boston Cream Pie with the rest of the cake mix.

Jan, my DH will never forget digging for clams in Alaska when DS and DIL lived up there. You had to walk a long way from the parking lot down a hill with the equipment. That ment carrying a heavy bucket back up the hill. DH threw his back out but good. Clams were just o k.

Louise, I remember the pictures that Nina sent us last year with the wind blowing and all you could see was the yellow pollen blowing. It's not that bad here thank goodness. We don't have those kind of trees.

I have also baked a packaged cranberry bread mix so I'll have something to snack on tomorrow.

Judy, Even central Oregon has forest fires every year. Not only man-caused but lightening. I'm sure there are areas like that in Washington - up near Wenatchee?

Louise, I am SO happy to report I walked for 45 minutes on the river walk today. I felt okay and still do. It's so frustraing when we get on a good habit and then something (illness) stops us. I'm rooting for you to get your activity in this week.

Judy, You are so right about having to be careful to prevent forest fires. The last few years the fires have been started because some one did not make sure their smokes were out or they did not put out their campfires. Usually I am glad for the low humidity because I cannot breathe in high humidity any more.

Have fun baking your cake!

GOD BLESS!
Louise

Jan, My biggest goal this week is to get back to regular exercise also. Due to the swelling of my left leg I have not been able to do it. I still have swelling but when I lay down it goes away. Now they think and I tend to agree that I might need a larger dose of thyroid medication.

Anyway, Jan, we can keep each accountable to the exercise goal.

GOD BLESS!

Good morning,

We're in rain mode, too. Depends on how much - all day pouring or rain now and then.

This would be the usual Monday house blessing. I haven't been up to it for a couple of weeks so there's plenty to do today.

DH tells me there is a clam tide later on and he's considering getting a license. So we might take a drive out to the beach later on. I like digging clams - or I used to- but I'm not fond of eating them. It used to be you didn't need a license until a few years ago.

My biggest goal this week is to get back to regular exercise. It's hard to do when I haven't been able to.

It has been pouring rain since yesterday. The recent snow was completely unexpected, but strangely I was glad to see it this low. That meant that the mountain got a really good covering and this late in the season that is very good. I am so glad there is so much moisture in our snow pack this year. I heard on the radio on the fifth that we had 115% of the usual moisture. I am feeling really bad for Arizona, they have only 40% and Louise's mention of duststorms is a reminder of that. I do hope that the natives and the tourists will take special care when traveling in Arizona and New Mexico. I don't know about Colorado and Utah, but let's face it, all those states need people to take extra care to prevent forest fires.

Gloria will be here shortly. I am considering having her stop to pick up some oatmeal for me. I ruined what I had left by putting a canister full of old 5 grain cereal in it. Bad news. I just didn't realize how old it was. Gloria and I are going to have to go through the cupboards and get rid of all the outdated stuff. It gets outdated when people put it where I can't reach it.

I think I will divide a cake mix today and bake a little cake. I haven't done anything like that for quite a while. I think we would enjoy that. I am also considering many options for some chicken breast I have in the frig. The top on my list of options is to smother it in sugar free apricot preserves and heat it thoroughly. It is already cooked. I'll give it some more thought.

See you all later.

Love, Judy emoticon

Good Morning Patty and all who will follow!

We are suppose to get high winds and a really bad dust storm. I guess the dust storms are starting early this year.

I am not sure what I am doing today.

EVERYONE, PLEASE HAVE A WONDERFUL MONDAY!

GOD BLESS!
Louise

Have a good day girls.
