It's windy here also Louise. Worse up in the mountains. We have some RV friends in Tucson that should be heading to the Palm Springs area tomorrow and another couple in Phoenix after the Tucson camp out that also will be heading to the Palm Springs area. That can be a very windy drive. I'm sure the wind here took some more of my hair. I don't think it will last the rest of the week. (my hair that is) By then there will be holes of bare head.
I made a trip of errands this morning. Had to buy an anniversary card for DS and DIL whose anniv. is on Friday. Probably their 34th. Stopped at the Goodwill Store to look for books. First time I've been in there and it is laid out very nice. Most of the thrift stores are a jumbled mess. I did find one Grisham paper back I hadn't read. Then to Costco. Sure wish they had had blueberries. Final stop at the produce store. I shall have asparagus on toast for supper.
Judy, I often weight out 1/2 a cake mix to make cobbler with frozen berries I buy at Costco. Cover the berries with 1/2 a yellow or white cake mix and pour over a small can size of 7-Up. (8 oz) Cover with foil and bake 30 min. and take the foil off and bake another 40 min. 350 degrees. I generally use about 1 lb. of berries. You can also use frozen peaches. I'm thinking of making a Boston Cream Pie with the rest of the cake mix.
Jan, my DH will never forget digging for clams in Alaska when DS and DIL lived up there. You had to walk a long way from the parking lot down a hill with the equipment. That ment carrying a heavy bucket back up the hill. DH threw his back out but good. Clams were just o k.
Louise, I remember the pictures that Nina sent us last year with the wind blowing and all you could see was the yellow pollen blowing. It's not that bad here thank goodness. We don't have those kind of trees.
I have also baked a packaged cranberry bread mix so I'll have something to snack on tomorrow.
